My Invincible Husband Has Returned

Chapter 126

Chapter 126

"Wait! That man looks so familiar! Isn't that Liam and Celena? They're even holding that little scum of a daughter in their arms!" Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Liam helped Celena out of the jeep, then picked Jovie up in his arms and stood proudly before everyone. Everyone, including the Stones, finally snapped out of their stupor. Their looks of excitement and longing immediately turned to disgust and distaste.

"Damn it! I thought it was the King Pendragon, but it turns out it's just that scumbag Liam! What rotten luck! What a waste of our time!"

"Hey, that's strange… Why would Liam be sitting in a jeep with all the tanks escorting him here?"

Celena was so nervous that her palms were covered in sweat. If it had not been for Liam clutching her tightly, she would have turned and left right that minute. She had always been afraid of public scrutiny. It terrified her and made her want to crawl into a shell.

Liam could feel her trembling next to him, so he gently squeezed her hand in reassurance. Then, he pulled her aside and waited quietly in a corner, ignoring everyone's angry spats around him.

Cheryl was the first to snap out of her stupor among the rest of the Stones. She immediately stomped toward Celena in her four-inch stilettos and tilted her chin smugly toward Celena. "How dare you even show up here, Celena? Have you ever been to such a formal event before? Oh, I know! You're just here to pig out, aren't you? You cheap little bitch!" Cheryl snarled, staring at Celena with utter disdain.

"What a waste of our time. I thought the King Pendragon had arrived, but it turns out it was just the three of them! I can't believe the audacity. How can they possibly think they deserve to even sit in a jeep like a proper army general?"

"What an embarrassment! Poor Stone family. They must be utterly humiliated! What are they even doing here, anyway?"

"Hey, keep your voice down. Didn't Lieutenant Andrews say that Liam and Mr. Lynch are good friends?"

Sherah overheard this conversation and immediately piped up, "Good friends? Nonsense! I asked Mr. Lynch myself yesterday, and he says that they're not particularly close. He's just looking out for Liam because he's an army veteran. How can they possibly be good friends? Come on! I'm guessing that Liam took advantage of Mr. Lynch's kindness and decided to mooch off the privilege! That's why he got to arrive in a jeep and escort!"

Sherah said that so loudly that not just the Stones, but the rest of the people standing nearby could hear her. Everyone rolled their eyes in disgust and began to complain, "What the hell? How shameless is he? Mr. lynch was simply kind enough to look out for him, yet he took advantage of Mr. Lynch like that! How can he ask for such frivolous things?"

"That's right. Do you remember General Lexington of the Southern Division? Even he doesn't make a scene when going out, so how can a lowly veteran like Liam possibly match himself to that status? Come on. Why doesn't he ask for a military plane while he's at it?"

There was no way Cheryl would sit by idly and allow such an opportunity to humiliate Liam and Celena passed her by. She took her phone out of her pocket, typed quickly on it, tucked it away, and turned to sneer at Celena.

A few moments later, Wasyl strode over, grinning. As soon as he arrived, he greeted Reginald and the rest of the Stones politely, then sauntered over to Cheryl's side. They exchange knowing glances.
