Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Esther’s eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Bradley’s back when he left.
She gritted her teeth. The pain gave her a moment of consciousness, and blood dripped from the
corner of her mouth following the tape. A tear slowly slid into her hair from the corner of her eye.
It was resentment that supported her as she clearly felt the cold needle push into her bone marrow…
Under the anesthetic effect, the pair of resentful eyes finally closed in helplessness, indignation, and
despair.
Bradley held his chest tightly the moment he left the operation ward. He felt as if his heart was stabbed
by hundreds and thousands of needles.
Esther’s frenzied words echoed in his mind, and he turned around abruptly to look at the tightly shut
doors of the operation ward. He pulled out his phone and instructed hastily, “Cole, get the samples of
the twins at Sunflower Welfare to do a paternity test with me right now.”
Cole did not understand why Bradley wanted to do that, but he replied respectfully anyway, “Okay.”
Bradley thought of Esther’s hateful eyes on the table and snickered. He must have lost his mind! He
had never even touched Esther-how could she carry his children?
Asexual reproduction!?
He fished out his phone again to send Cole a text.
[No need to do it.]
He had nearly swayed because of the crazy woman’s words.
Esther was crazy enough to harm his grandfather. She could definitely lie through her teeth in order to
save the b*stards.
Those b*stards could never be his children!
Bradley suppressed the agitation and looked at Felix in the operation ward. His thin lips were pressed
into a line, and his clenched jaw hinted at his anxiousness.
His tall body tensed like a string pulled taut as if he would break anytime.
The digits of the clock on the wall of the operation ward kept blinking.
Everyone in the operating ward looked grim as they did their best to complete the difficult operation. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Everyone only had the same thought-the surgery must be successful.
Cole looked at Bradley’s text on his phone and was conflicted for a few seconds before he went to the
hospital where Tinkerbell was in.
Since Bradley suspected her birth, a paternity test would solve the mystery.
“Good evening, Mr. Searle.” Cole respectfully greeted Jasper, whose forehead was dressed with
gauze. Jasper glanced at him coldly and scoffed. “What? Bradley sent you here to check if I’m dead?”
Cole explained awkwardly, “You must be joking. Mr. Warner was worried about Mr. Felix. I believe you’d
understand a father’s love for his son…”
Jasper snorted and ignored Cole. Instead, he looked at Tinkerbell, whom the doctors were trying to
save.
“Cole, Esther says that Tinkerbell’s her and Bradley’s child. Do you believe it?”
Cole looked shocked, wondering if that was true.
Jasper’s gaze landed on Tinkerbell’s lifeless face, and he said slowly, “I believe it. You and I both know
how much Esther loved Bradley. Mr. Thomas knew it too. He didn’t believe that she would cheat on him
till his death. Do you believe that she’d betray him?”
Cole looked at Tinkerbell, who was dying, and thought of twins he had personally carried out of prison
back then.
It was a pair of newborns, and he had personally handed them to the director of Sunflower Welfare.
The director had reassured him that she would raise them well.
These five years, Cole had made time to visit them, aside from regularly sending money and items to
the welfare home.
What if the twins were indeed Bradley and Esther’s daughters? How could he live with all that Thomas
had done for him?
No, if Esther had carried Bradley’s children, why hadn’t she pleaded with him in court back then? Why
hadn’t she told the truth?
Tinkerbell’s emergency care came to a stop in the emergency ward. The pediatrician approached
Jasper with his mask.
“Mr. Searle, Tinkerbell’s not doing great. Her organs are showing signs of failure…”
Jasper asked in shock, “She has acute leukemia, right? Why is organ failure happening so fast!?”
