Chapter 28 A marriage contract
Hayden stood unmoving on his spot, his eyes glued to the pictures in his hand and his eyes flared in anger.
“Are you sure this is Emily Martins?” Hayden asked, staring at the pictures in his hand, his gaze fixed on the smiling Olivia beside Emily and the guy beside him nodded his head.
“Yes boss, she’s Emily Martins.” He confirmed and Hayden narrowed his eye.
“When was the first time they were seen together?” Hayden asked.
“5 years ago Boss.” The guy replied and the suspicion in Hayden grew.
“You may leave.” He ordered and the guy beside him nodded before making his way out of the room leaving only Hayden behind in the dimly room.
Alone in the room, Hayden’s mind drifted off to the day he’d met Olivia, it was 9 years ago.
She had been caught stealing an apple from a shop and was being beaten by the owner of the shop and some other people before he had arrived.
“Don’t hit her again Sir, I’ll pay for what she took.” He had proposed to the owner of the shop who menacingly looked at him from head to toe before nodding his head in approval and gave the girl to him.
Staring at the girl, he noticed she looked so unkept and dirty.
Her hair was rough and tangled as she had not washed it for months now, and her clothes were old and torn.
Hayden settled the bills and took the tattered little girl to a restaurant, ordering a proper meal for her to which she hungrily ate to her satisfaction.
“What’s your name little one?” He asked and the girl turned to face him.
“Olivia, my name is Olivia.” She’d replied.
“Olivia, why did you have to steal an apple?” He asked and the little girl brought her head down in shame.
“I… I was hungry and… And I had.. I had no money with me.” She shuttered, a tear escaping her eyes which showed how bad she felt.
“How old are you?” He’d asked.
“16, I’m 16 years old.” She replied and Hayden hummed.
“16 years.” He repeated, his voice coming out in whispers.
“How would you like working for me and getting paid a huge amount of money?” He asked and the little girl’s eyes widened.
“I’ll… I’ll get paid a huge amount of money?” She asked and Hayden nodded.
“What… What kind of job is it?” The little girl, Olivia asked and Hayden smiled.
Such a smart girl.
“A job where you teach bad guys a lesson, how about that Olive?” He asked and Olivia’s lips curve up to a smile.
” I like it.” She announced.
“Are you in?” He asked and she nodded.
“Yes, I’m in.” She confirmed, smiling gratefully at him.
Right then and there, Olivia life’s changed.
Hayden took her to his house, training her himself and she became the best assassin among his men.
He then introduced her to his Boss Mrs Isabella, the wife to Mr Williams and she gave Olivia her first mission which she successfully did and the age of 17.
More missions came for her and she successfully did them all, failing none making him more proud.
He gave her most of the important missions as he had no reason to doubt her and because she was the best then, but staring at the pictures in his hand right now, his narrative seemed to change.
Has she been lying to him?
For how long?
Hayden took the bottle of whiskey which was placed on the table beside him and poured some into his glass cup before taking a sip from it.
“What games are you trying to play Olivia?” He asked no one in particular bringing the glass of whiskey to his lips and slowly took a sip from it.
Whatever it was, he had to find out before it was too late.

Niguel came to a halt in his company. Alighting from it, he still had the frown from the hospital when Raphael had told him about the visitor.
Why was she suddenly in town and was looking for him?
With a child?
He made his way inside his company with Emily trailing behind him, holding a small bag which contains some drugs from the hospital in her hands.
The people who saw Emily alighting from his car alongside with him were left speechless.
“The rumors are true, she’s his fiancee, see, she even sat at the front sit beside him in his car.”Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“She didn’t come to work yesterday, I heard they spent their day together.”
“Isn’t she lucky?”
“Damn she is, getting to marry a man like sir Niguel who wouldn’t be lucky?”
“I wish it was me.”
Those were the words the bystanders kept murmuring as they watched the couple make their way into the company.
God, they looked so good together.
Emily and Niguel made their way into the company and she did not fail to hear the murmurs coming from her co-workers alongside their gaze especially the ladies.
Some stared admiringly at her while some stared enviously, jealousy clearly shown in their eyes before angrily rolling their eyes.
She just started working there days ago and was already the CEO’s fiancee?
Or did the CEO perhaps hid her from everyone all this time just to pull a stun like this?
They couldn’t help but ask.
Emily and Niguel entered the elevator, pressing the 28th floor which was their floor and got there few minutes later.
“Follow me to my office Emily.” He ordered in his domineering voice and she quietly trailed behind him, saying nothing.
Getting to his office, Niguel opened his drawer and brought out a file which he passed to her.
“Sign this.” He ordered and she narrowed her eyes.
“What is this?” She asked and Niguel glared at her.
“I believe you can read Emily.” He muttered, making her roll her eyes.
Why couldn’t he just tell her to make it more easier?
She took the file and reading the first two lines, her eyes widened in awe.
“A marriage contract?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yes a marriage contract.” He confirmed.
“For 3 months?”
“Yes for 3 months.” He yet again confirmed.
“And as you can see, you ain’t doing that for free, you’ll be paid at the end of the month.” He added and Emily eyes read the last of the file making her eyes widened.
“Ten thousand dollars?” Her voice came out in whispers, that was such a huge money. Coupled with her salary of eight thousand dollars per month, her life will change for the better.
Seeing her expression Niguel smiled, he noticed since the day he was rumored to have a fiancee, more deals came for his company bringing him back to the first position in Los Angeles. All he had to do now was to inherit his father’s company.
“Are you in?” He asked and she nodded her head.
“Yes, yes I’m in.” She muttered and he smiled.
“Good, you can go back to your office Emily. We’ll be going for a date this evening.” He announced and she nodded before leaving his office.
He had to make more headlines with her.
