My Brother's Best Friend Is My Mate

Chapter 6: The party

Chapter 6: The party

I dressed my best and drove to Spencer's house, where it took her five minutes to open the door. She

was wearing a stunning party dress, all ready to go to the party. We walked over to Liam's house where

loud music was already busting through the windows. Before Spencer and I could even knock on the

door, Matt opened it, a smile plastered on his face.

"Spencer! Emerald!", he greeted us. "Come in!" We returned the greetings and I gave the now 15 year

old a gift wrapped in red and blue polka-dots. He thanked me and gave us room to come into the

house.

The stench of the party -the smoking, the drinking, bodies rubbing together- hit my nose and I looked

around my surroundings. There were some familiar faces like Jessica, my preschool teacher's

daughter, and her best friend Amy. And there was Vanessa over in a corner near the stairs sucking out

the tongue of one of the neighborhood's school jock. Gross.

"I'm gonna go get us some drinks", Spencer shouted above the loud music pounding in the air.

"OK", I answered, a bit nervous of being left alone. This was just an innocent party? Right?

To my relief, Spencer returned a few minutes later with a smile and drinks in her hand. She handed me

a red cup with liquid and told me to drink it.

I have never drunk a tip of alcohol in my 17 years on Earth. I turned to Spencer to object, but she was

nowhere to be found.

Within a few minutes of waiting for Spencer, I realized that she had left me for good so I walked around

and made small talk with some of my classmates.

After wrapping up a boring conversation with my math teacher's son, I walked off to the kitchen hoping

to find something to drink. I had abandoned my drink on the counter in the kitchen. I opened the fridge

door and took out a bottle of water. I pulled of the cap, and started to chuck down the water. I walked Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

off and was making my way out of the kitchen when I was crushed in the chest of a douche bag. I fell

on the floor, straight on my butt. Ouch! I looked up and saw the one and only, sexy Greek God himself,

Liam Jones, in the flesh.

I looked up speechless with my mouth in an O shape. How entirely stupid of me! Liam looked down at

me, extremely amused of how nervous I was but the grin on his face soon disappeared. He sniffed the

air once, then again. Then he looked back down on me. He offered me his hand to take, which I did. A

wave of sparks crashed into my hand, causing me to let go of his hand, and I toppled back onto the

floor. Liam had a look of shock and pleasure on his face as he looked at me one last time and

disappeared. A few persons were in the kitchen at the time, and a kind girl helped me to my feet.

I walked out of the kitchen, in complete fury. That jerk! How dare he leave me on the floor like that?

Didn't his mom teach him any manners, or how to respect a lady? The next time we meet, I will most

definitely give him a piece of my mind.

I was lost in my thoughts when I was crashed into by another stupid human being. Great. Is everyone

so intoxi that they're suddenly deaf? The person holds my hand and asks me if I'm alright.

"Yea. But I would be better if you hadn't crashed into me in the first place-"

I stop suddenly because of the person I'm talking to. No, it's not Liam.

It's my ex boyfriend. Jack.

Asshole.
