Chapter 35
Chapter thirty five
She mumbled assuring words to herself as she approached the wolf for confirmation. Her heart totally sank when she recognized him. Her knees went weak and she had trouble breathing.
She fell to the floor, beside Axel. She let out a howl as she roughly and subconsciously stroked his fur. *Axel no, no, you can’t die like this. You promised to come back, you asshole. You promised me. How dare you give in to death? How dare you! I haven’t confessed to you my love. We… we… we were just getting started. You can’t do this to me.* She cried through her mindlink.
She regretted letting him go. After crying for several minutes, she stood up on her paws with bloodshot eyes. *I’m going to kill those bastards* She vowed and made to work away. But then something held her back. She tried jerking away but she couldn’t. She looked back and saw one of Axel’s eyes opened. Her heart skipped a beat. He opened the second eye and stood up.
*Axel? What…*
Axel pulled her away until they got to a secluded and empty class. They shifted into their human forms in different rooms and came together again.
Jabi demanded an explanation with a scowl on her face.
“The thing is… I was pretending. The rogues’ number increased so I did what I had to do, in order to be safe.” He explained.
Jabi cleared her throat and cautiously looked him in the eyes. “Perhaps… your mindlink…. wasn’t on?” She stuttered.
Axel smiled. “I’m not sure.”
Jabi frowned. “How…. never mind.” She looked away.
“But I think I heard the word ‘love'” he continued voluntarily and she coughed intensely. “Are you okay?” He asked in a teasing tone and his smile never left his face.
“Yeah.. I’m… fine.” she lied. “I need to go, I’m pressed.” She said hurriedly and turned around to leave.
“Don’t worry about anything and just wait for me.” He muttered and she stopped and turned to him. “I won’t keep you waiting for long. I promise.”
She smiled and was about to say something when they heard a fresh uproar from outside. The two rushed to the window and saw many soldiers rush into the pack and attack the rogue wolves.
“Who are those? They aren’t rogues.” Jabi questioned.
Axel shook his head subconsciously. “I don’t know either.”

Giovanni ignored Marlin and walked over to Lian. “You are right. It’s you I should kill, so I can train your betas to become my dogs. Lian, get ready to die.”
“You beast. What’s the essence of training them when they would eventually betray you?” Lian mocked and let out a chuckle.
Giovanni’s expression changed. “They wouldn’t dare me. I am Giovanni! The great and most powerful rogue alpha.” He boasted in a very serious tone.
Lian laughed. “Right. The most powerful rogue alpha who couldn’t save his own son from dying.”
“Shut your mouth!!!” Giovanni yelled and raised his sword to slice Lian.
“Don’t you dare touch him.” Mia cautioned. Giovanni turned to look at who spoke. “You said?”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“You’ll not lay your filthy sword on him.” Mia commanded dreadfully as she stared right into his eyes.
“Who is this rat?” Giovanni enquired his commander, Durston, who explained who she was.
Giovanni turned to Lian. “Your sister? I might as well kill her before I kill you.” He smirked and dragged his sword along with him to Mia. Lian struggled to break the invincible chains. He struggled and struggled. He wouldn’t take it lightly if he touched a hair on her head.
Giovanni stood in front of Mia. “How dare you give me orders?!” He growled and made to cut off her head when a red glow almost blinded him. He squinted his eyes as he tried to make out what the red glow was about.
Everyone was shocked. Mia’s red eyes glistened brightly for several seconds before they changed to their normal colour. Lian was stunned to his stomach. He was incredulous. He turned to look at Marlin and Samara.
“It is what it is.” Marlin whispered. The confirmation nod Samara gave shook him to the core. That was his alpha marble… shining in Mia’s eyes. That means… she’s his mate? Impossible.
He turned to look at Mia, who bit her lower lip. “How…” His voice trailed off as he couldn’t seem to put words together at the moment.
“That looks like an alpha marble, Durston.”
“Yes, my lord.” The commander confirmed, he was shocked too.
Giovanni turned to Lian. “She’s your sister… how…” Seeing the astounding look on Lian’s face, he could tell it was a complicated issue.
He suddenly burst into laughter. “You’ve brought me a priceless gift. There’s no way you two will agree to get married. So thank me for assisting you. Durston, let’s get your lord stronger and younger.” He stated happily and dropped the sword he was holding.
He grew his claws out but didn’t shift totally.
He made to thrust his claws into her throat. “Your daughter!” Lian hollered, making him stop. “How do you think she’ll feel, seeing you in your monstrous form?”
“Shut your mouth!” Giovanni growled.
“You cheated on your wife with a maid, killed your son, made your loving wife turn against you, and you have a daughter, who is neither a dead nor a living.” Lian deliberately stated so as to get him more angry and distract him from Mia.
“I said shut your mouth!!” Giovanni roared again and picked up his sword, marched over to Lian and slashed him between the neck and shoulder. Lian howled in pain and fell back. The chains were still holding him down.
“No!!!!” Mia and Marlin let out at the same time. Samara was busying using her powers. Unexpectedly, she broke the chain spell and was about to break Mia’s own when the latter sudden broke free by herself.
Lian, even in pain was shocked.
Mia broke the chain spell and swiftly shifted into her wolf form. Giovanni ordered for her to be captured. She let out a deafening howl that could make ears bleed and the over-fifty-men that charged at her went flying back, and landed their backs on the walls and the floor.
A soldier suddenly ran in. “My lord, Amelia’s soldiers have attacked us.” He announced in fear.
“What?!” Giovanni exclaimed in disbelief. “Fight them with your lives!” He ordered.
Giovanni retreated in fear. Harlow, Mia’s wolf was super enraged. Lian’s alpha marble shimmered in her eyes continuously this time around. She let out a howl again and the throne room shook. The floor her paws stepped on cracked as she walked slowly towards Giovanni.
The door to the throne room opened and a hundred soldiers ran in to attack Mia. Before they got to her, she roared in fury and the walls crumbled over the incoming soldiers, crushing them to death. Marlin and Samara were almost crushed too but they moved swiftly. Marlin moved Lian to a safer part of the throne room.
Giovanni shook in fear as he backed away from the big, white, hairy and red eyed wolf. Mia charged towards Giovanni but Durston, in his wolf form made to pounce over her. Mia sneered and brought him to her feet. She dipped her claws deep into his neck and drew them out.
The rogues’ spell caster tried casting spells but none of them worked on her. She lunged at Giovanni and within the bat of an eye, she was holding a heart dripping with blood.
She seemed satisfied after winning against Giovanni. She turned around and approached Lian with a deadly look. Before she got to him, Samara casted on her a very strong spell that extracted the marble out of her. She howled in pain as the red marble moved out of her body into Lian’s.
Without anyone noticing, she left the throne room.
