Chapter Sixty One
Subtitle: Getting to know him
Written by : Marvy Hyacinth
She walked to the door and muttered just four words before walking out of it.
“Your bed disgusts me.”
Anderson watched her back till it disappeared through the door in surprise. His bed was disgusting?! How? What did she mean by that?
… Downstairs
“Hey Jace, you’re up.”
Alexa commented as soon as she stepped foot in the dining room.
“Yeah. Where’s Anderson.”
Jace asked.
“Upstairs, why?”
“Because he said he was going to get you down for breakfast and come down with you.”
Jace replied.
“Oh…”
Alexa Oed.
“Let’s eat anyway.”
“Without me?”
Anderson quizzed by the side, before walking to his place at the table.
Alexa and Jace turned their heads towards him. Alexa sighed.
“Does it matter if you’re here or not?”
“Of course it does.”
Anderson said, sitting.
“Whatever.”
Alexa rolled her eyes.
“Eat fast, we’re heading to the court today.”
Anderson announced and dug a fork in his fried egg.
“What for?”
Alexa quizzed.
“For our unofficial marriage, remember?”
Anderson answered, making Jace swing his eyes to Alexa.
“You didn’t tell me you’re getting married today.”
Jace frowned.
“Oh, I’m not Jace. Its just a misunderstanding on Anderson’s part.”
Alexa gave a nervous smile, hoping what she said herself was true.
“No Jace, There’s no misunderstanding. We’re getting married today, just a court stuff though.”
Anderson countered.
“Court marriage?”
Jace asked with a slight frown on his face.
“Yes.”
“Why not a proper white wedding?”
Jace quizzed.
“Oh, you see Jace… I’d have loved to do that first, but your sis is one crazy hell of a lady. She might just decide to come to the church with her wedding dress ripped off by her own hands.”
Anderson explained half laughing.
“But my sis ain’t as crazy as that.”
Jace scrunched his brows.
“Then you don’t know her. She’s more than crazy.”
“Lmao. I knew her before you did, so stop acting like you’ve met her years before me.”
“Is that Jealousy knocking on the door?”
Anderson teased.
“Not really.”
Jace answered as he dug into his eggs.
“Hmm… OK.”
Anderson said and turned to Alexa.
“I’ll get you a dress when I go to work and send it to you by 1pm. Make sure you get ready immediately, I’ll set an appointment for us by 2.”
“Seems like I can’t argue this with you.”
Alexa thinned her lips.
“Thank goodness you realized.”
“But ain’t you supposed to make an appointment for something like this three days away or even a week before?”
Alexa asked, obviously looking for a way to avoid what Anderson was preparing.
“There’s nothing money and influence can’t do darling.”
Anderson smirked.
“So you pay your way through every damn thing?”
“Not EVERY thing.”
Anderson corrected.
“So the rings and all that?”
“I’ve got that covered.”
“Goddammit! There’s no way of escaping this huh?”
Alexa fumed frustrated.
“Obviously.”
Anderson smiled.
Ξ Unknown’s POV Ξ
Standing on a tree top opposite Anderson’s home with a pair of binoculars in my hands, I looked towards the nearest window and saw nobody inside the room it held inside.
I tried another window and saw a little boy inside reading some books. Boring!
As a kid, I hated books, I wonder what the little boy sees in it.
The boy wasn’t my target…NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
I tried another window on the lower floor and saw what I was looking for. She was there, washing the dishes. That must be the kitchen.
She was my target…
Not exactly, but to get my main target, I have to get her as bait.
I spotted a car drive out, and his myself well in the leaves of the tree.
from the luxurious look of the car, it was definitely my target in it.
Anderson!
I must surely pay him back for destroying my natural, beautiful face when I was much younger!
♡ Alexa ♡
I did the dishes after our meal since Anderson was the one who cooked, alongside Jace and walked to my, well OUR room.
I had a hard time waiting for time to pass. Not that I wanted it, but I was secretly looking forward to the court wedding.
If not anything, for the dress Anderson said he was going to get me. It’s been as long as forever since I had enough money to spare for a glamorous dress.
I picked up my phone. I had barely touched it since I got here and picking up my ear phone, scrolled through it.
I got bored with it after some time and went to check on Jace.
I thought he’d be asleep, but he wasn’t. Instead, he was reading.
“Hey buddy. What are you reading?”
I asked as I entered into his room and closed the door after me.
He raised the book up and I took a closer look at it.
“Procedures in heart surgery?”
I cracked.
“Yeah.”
“Bunny, why are you reading this?”
“Tomorrow’s my surgery, so I found this book in that shelf over there and thought some reading to know what I’d expect tomorrow won’t do much harm.”
He replied very meekly.
I took a seat by his side on the bed.
“You don’t have to do this.”
I raked my hand through his hair.
“Will I die?”
He asked, throwing me off guard.
“No, you won’t. What gives you that idea?”
“They said here in the book I may probably die, during or after the surgery.”
He said, tears running down his cheeks.
“No you won’t. Stop saying nonsense.”
“But the people that wrote this book are professional doctors.”
“Don’t listen to them. They’re all lying. You won’t die, I trust you.”
I said, trying my best to comfort him.
“But, what if…”
I quickly cut him off.
“Stop with the buts Jace. You won’t die, and that’s it!”
I said firmly.
“I’m just scared…”
“Of what?”
“Of dying and not living to fulfill my ambition of become a Heart surgeon.”
He said. ”
“Wow, you already picked a job?”
I asked amazed and he nodded his response.
“Why that one?”
“I want to be able to help people with my kinda condition. I know how sucking it is to stay indoors always, so I want to help others when I grow.”
He answered.
“Wow. That’s great Jace”
I said truthfully.
“I know, that’s why I don’t want to die yet.”
“Trust me, you won’t.”
I assured him and lay down beside him, my hand draped around him as I rocked him to sleep.
After ensuring he was asleep already, I went to my room to play some games or prolly listen to music, but the time dinged 12. 30 pm.
Dang it!
30minutes….
I screeched excited.
I walked to the bathroom, took a shower again as I sat, waiting for the dress to arrive.
At exactly 1pm, it did!
I wore it the dress and stood in front of the man length mirror to check it out.
It was a sea blue flay gown stopping right above my knee. It was nothing too spectacular, but I sure loved it.
I wore the blue high heel sent along with the dress to match and took time curling up my hair.
Anderson may not have a taste for women’s clothing, but his shoe sense was incredible.
I picked my phone up, took some selfies and photos of me in the mirror.
I uploaded the pics on both my Facebook and Whatsapp before scrolling, looking for more celebrities to follow.
I checked the time again, and it was 1. 3pm already.
“I should go now, before he roasts me with his words.”
I said to myself and went down the stairs, outside.
“You going somewhere ma’am?”
One of the guys Anderson left here asked and I nodded.
“Anderson didn’t drop instructions for you?”
I asked.
“No, he didn’t.”
He said with his head bowed low.
“I don’t know…”
I was about to complete my statement before his phone dinged and he brought it out of his pocket.
“Oh, he sent me the address now. He said he’s on his way there now.”
He said.
“Alright.”
He opened the door to the car and I hopped in, while he closed it after me and went to the driver’s seat.
He drove me down to the court and immediately I alighted, he drove away.
I was almost near the court when someone placed something over my nose and dragged me into a bush nearby.
