Chapter 27 Striking Resemblance
As the man entered, he exuded a commanding and dignified demeanor in his every gesture.
His deep, ocean-like eyes landed on Anastasia and gave a subtle nod.
None of the crowd present had noticed this small detail.
Anastasia then took a moment to gather herself before lowering her eyes to study the information about
the man's background.
The Stanford Group, known for its formidable influence abroad and mysterious background, had
recently come under the leadership of Jaxon Stanford. Jaxon was a decisive and ruthless figure who
carved a path through the fierce internal conflicts within the group, gaining complete control over its
affairs.
The Graves Group held this collaboration in high regard, and Jaxon's involvement showed that the
Stanford Group was genuinely committed to the partnership. Collaboration was bound to happen.
Anastasia was only there as an observer, but the scope and complexity of the project they discussed
left her both amazed and excited. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
The conference went on for an hour.
Derek and Jaxon came to a preliminary agreement with ease during their discussion.
After the meeting concluded and everyone had left, Derek invited Jaxon to his office for a chat, and
Jaxon gladly accepted the offer.
Derek turned around and looked at his sister, invitingly saying, "Anastasia, you should come too."
Anastasia didn't even have a chance to refuse.
However, she found herself intrigued by Jaxon's appearance, and, with a smile, she nodded in
response to her brother's invitation.
She entered the office after them, and Derek introduced, "Mr. Stanford, this is my sister, Anastasia
Graves."
"I know," Jaxon acknowledged, "Mr. Derek Graves once told me that his sister has a way of standing
out in a crowd, as she's the most radiant one."
Jaxon then smiled faintly, and it softened the coldness in his demeanor. He appeared to be both
charming and enigmatic. But in the next moment, he suddenly drew closer.
A sudden cold and distant scent emanated from him, causing Anastasia to look up instinctively.
With his profound gaze, Jaxon extended his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Graves."
Anastasia smiled as she lightly shook his hand and then let go.
There was an air of mystery about Jaxon that she couldn't figure out, leaving her uncertain if it was
danger or something different altogether.
He mentioned, "I know Starlight Entertainment is the largest entertainment company in the country. I've
been keen on investing in the entertainment industry for a while. If the opportunity arises, I'd appreciate
the chance to seek guidance from Ms. Graves, if you wouldn't mind."
Anastasia paused momentarily and smiled courteously, saying, "I'm flattered, and it's our honor to
collaborate with you."
Jaxon's eyes briefly glinted with amusement as he received her response.
But in the blink of an eye, it was gone.
Afterward, Jaxon turned back to have a brief chat with Derek. Shortly after, his assistant hurriedly
reminded him about another meeting.
After he left, Derek and Anastasia were the only ones left in the office.
Anastasia couldn't resist asking, "Derek, don't you think he looks like..."
Derek knew she wanted to ask about this, so he kept her there and explained, "Jaxon's aunt happens
to be Lyra, Christian's father's first wife. That's why they look somewhat alike."
A hint of surprise flashed across Anastasia's face, but she quickly nodded in realization, thinking, "That
explains it. They are cousins, after all."
"The Patterson family had a very unpleasant divorce with Lyra, so they hardly had any cooperation or
dealings. Jaxon's investment in Zylandia isn't solely for the projects with Graves Group. He intends to
make significant moves here. If we collaborate, we should also be cautious."
Derek's words ended there, and Anastasia caught on, nodding in acknowledgment.
Afterward, she left Graves Group and planned to return to Starlight Entertainment.
As a result, she encountered a car accident on the way, and the flashy luxury car involved turned out to
be Jaxon's.
Anastasia momentarily hesitated before she went up and asked, "Mr. Stanford, do you need any help?"
As soon as the driver ahead heard her, he appeared relieved and quickly said, "Ms. Graves, Mr.
Stanford has injured his forehead. Could you please take him to the hospital?"
