Shelmaine continued, “So don’t let him in. And if he comes again, just tell him I’m not here”
“Boss. It was just a random question. Don’t scare me like that… Beatrix was startled.
“I’m not trying to scare you. He really is my ex–husband. It feels a little embarrassing to say it out loud.” Shelmaine laughed self–mockingly.
“I didn’t mean to offend you. I wasn’t trying to be rude, and I was just asking out of curiosity…”Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
“I understand, I don’t blame you for that. It doesn’t hurt to ask ”
Shelmine wasn’t too bothered, but she did get a little serious in repeating her reminder. “But I’m serious about not letting him in next time. It wasn’t a pleasant divorce.” “Is that true?” Beatrix’s eyes widened.
“Yes. Otherwise, why do you think I moved the office? It was to avoid him.”
“Got it I promise I won’t let them in again. I swear, Boss!”

Beatrix glanced awlowardly between Shrimane and Julien, debating whether to greet him. She decided against it after a moment’s thought. Shelmine was more important to her When Shelmaine couldn’t keep up with feigning ignorance anymore, she had to face him and say, “Hi Mr. Gallagher.”
Julien replied, “I thought you’d never want to speak to me again.”
“That’s exactly what I was thinking”
“Don’t act on it.”
Shelmine was at a loss for words to respond. Beatrix standing nearby felt like shipping the two of them together, and she stifled a laugh.
