Chapter 395 Signed Your Name (Part Two)
The doctor bowed her head to show courtesy after telling Terence what he needed to know. She didn't
want to scare him about the worst things that could happen but it was part of her job as a doctor. She
wanted to give them hope but Carla's condition was not as positive as it should have been.
Carla had suffered heavy bleeding before and on top of that, the abortion today would only make things
worse for her. These incidents would create a bad impact on her health and weaken her body over
time.
"Terence, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have mentioned anything about Carla's pregnancy,"
said Theo, who was standing beside Terence the whole time. He also heard the doctor and felt a pang
of guilt because of what he did. He struck his face hard in front of Terence as punishment for his
stupidity.
He realized that if he hadn't said that Carla was pregnant, Rena would not have attacked her!
'Rena was out of her mind. She went as far as attempting to commit suicide, let alone take revenge on
Carla. It was stupid of me. How could I not think it through?
It was all my fault. I shouldn't have told her about that in the first place!' Theo thought.
Meanwhile, Terence just looked blankly at the man. He didn't even give Theo a response. Instead, he
pushed him away and then walked towards Carla's ward. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
When Terence stepped in, he saw that Carla was already awake.
However, she was just staring motionlessly at the ceiling.
It was in every women's nature to love a child as soon as they came into their lives. Their babies are
said to become inseparable from their bodies, more so, from their hearts. It was normal for any mother
to be heartbroken in this situation. After all, if their precious child had suddenly disappeared from their
lives, they would also feel empty and void.
Carla was not an exception.
There was no other way out of this tragic episode but to face it head on.
'Why? Why did this happen to me?
When will I live a normal and happy life, God? Why do you have to make it so hard for me?' she
complained.
"You are awake. How do you feel?"
Terence softly said as he walked up to her. When he was near her bed, he found that she was sitting as
still as a rock with her eyes wide open.
It took a while before Carla finally opened her mouth and said, "Good. I can't feel the pain anymore."
The coldness of Carla's voice rendered Terence silent for a few seconds, before he whispered, "Carla."
He let out an agonized deep sigh and then swallowed.
He would gladly turn back time if he could. Unfortunately, even he couldn't have everything under his
control and there would always be something that was beyond his capabilities. However, he would
make their child live if he could.
Life was a matter of being born and then being buried after death. It was how nature worked. He was
just a man. What could he do to change that?
The only thing he could do was to protect the ones he loved.
But now, everything was a mess.
Did God put him through all this to punish him? If that were the case, he would smile and gladly take it,
but why did Carla have to suffer all those painful moments?
"It is all right, Terence. If this is how it was meant to happen, we couldn't have done anything about it
even if we tried." After wiping the tears from her face, she forced a bitter smile and looked at him
blankly.
"Although I couldn't accept the fact at that time, I'm doing better now. It is not a big deal. It's time for me
to stop living in the past and begin to think about our future. I'm still young enough to have another
baby with you. I just need some time to take care of my body. After I recover from this, I believe that
everything will be all right again,"
Carla reassured him as she swallowed the pain. She knew that Terence was in more pain than she
was.
She had always been positive towards life. She was the type of person who smile brightly in the face of
hardship and suffering.
When her parents passed away three years ago, leaving her and her brother alone, she still managed
to make it through and create a good life for herself.
She was Carla and she would survive any kind of crisis.
However, Terence was falling apart from the inside. His situation was worse than she had thought. He
wasn't used to being hurt like this at all.
He felt his heart pause, when he saw her smiling at him, even as the tears streamed down her cheeks.
His hand trembled as he reached out to her and touched her tender face. He peered into her eyes and
said, "I have asked the staff from the Civil Affairs Bureau to come to the hospital. We will register our
marriage today. Right here."
Carla didn't object to his proposal. She nodded her head in agreement and said, "Okay. Let's do it."
Although their baby was gone, they still had to move on.
"But Terence, since your grandfather is going to have an operation, I think it would be better not to tell
him about the baby. We can tell him everything after his operation."
Terence held her hands after hearing what she said. He was moved by how considerate she was. He
couldn't believe that Carla was still putting his grandfather first even though she was suffering from
loss.
With his resolve strengthened, Terence walked out of the ward.
His strides were fast and long. Soon, he turned to the corner at the corridor's end.
Rainer and Nathan stood guard outside Carla's ward when Terence passed them by. Nathan
immediately followed Terence, feeling concerned.
He saw Terence slamming his fist against the wall in anger, as if to release all his pain. Anxiously,
Nathan rushed to Terence and pulled him away from the wall.
