Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Chapter 55 Do You Want a Divorce? “You’re outstanding young man, Joseph. But why is it that you

don’t have a partner yet?” Damien askirt with a smile

“I haven’t found a suitable woman resonate with,” Joseph replied, his (ace going pale. Tamien no

longer wished to converse with Joseph. Instead, he started talking about a plece of gossip that shockey

Genovia to the con’ some time. The wife of a famous financler, Dennis Heterson, was caught red

bandes aving an altair with a handsome man meli younger than her she originally thought her husband

wouldn’t do anything to her, but little did she low that Dennis had already discovered them smuggling

together in bed. Her husband ended up taking mules of them and uplonding the pictures everywhere,

thus ruining their reputations, Dennis also not divon with that woman I kicked her out of his house.

From that day omwant, both cougar and homewrecker were unable to continue living in Genovia.

“You’re right. That woman should’ve minded her behavior because of her identity. How could she

cuckold a famous financier like that?” Joseph’s father sighed emotionally. He grabbed a tissue paper

and starte dabbing it on his

s ly forehead.

“It’s bad enough that this young man wanted to ruin his own life, but to think he insisted on dragging

someone else down with him… He should be given a death sentence!” Damien picked up his wine

glass and shook it lightly.

He seemed like he was in heated gossip. But the more Clarissa listened to him, the more frightened

she became Joseph’s father, Frank Moore, kept sweating produsely as well. He was a smart man.

Clarissa did say she was taking the certified accounting license exam. Coupled with the fact that slie

knew Joseplı…

Damien was not one for gossip. He wouldn’t invite Frank, out of all people, to a business meeting as

well. The fact that he chose to mention that gossip right in front of him at a time like this meant that

Frank liad done it on purpose.

He was most likely warning Clarissa and Josepla.

Undoubtedly, Damien’s plan was extremely effective.

After the meal, Damien and Clarissa left the hotel.

Joseph initially wanted to say something to the latter, but he was scared into submission after noticing

Frank’s icy glare. “Do you think this isn’t embarrassing enough?” Frank growled.

After getting into their car, Joseph asked Frank, “Do you know Damien? How did you know

him?”

“You’re forbidden from seeing Clarissa ever again! No matter how much you like her, she’s still

Damien’s woman!” Frank scolded.

“They don’t love each other! They’ll get divorced sooner or later!” Joseph argued back. “As long as

she’s not divorced, you’re the one who deserves that death sentence! Don’t you

realize what Damien meant?” “Why are you so afraid of Damien, Dad?” Frank’s face shriveled into one

or bitter anger. However, he didn’t reply to his son.

When Damien was studying overseas more than a decade ago, Frank had partaken in the incident that

frame the former’s father. Later on, Damien acquired concrete evidence of his participation, so Damien

kept blackmailing himn over the years. That was the reason why a filty -year-old man like Frank had no

choice but to act cowardly and submissive in front of Damien the entire time.

Meanwhile, back in Damien’s car.

Clarissa didn’t utter a word. Her expression was as dark as a brewing storm.

After wrapping her arms around her body, she closed her eyes and pretended to doze olf as an act to

ignore Damien.

A question kept plaguing her mind. Why would Damien choose this time to treat the Moores to a meal?

When Promised Fashion Boutique texted her, it had been a Monday. That meant Damien was already

planning this disastrous meeting on that very same day.

That day, Madelynn had brought everyone in the company lunch. There were pictures of her shooting

her movie printed on the bags containing the lunch boxes. Coincidentally, the location in which she shot

her movie happened to be the hospital that Clarissa’s mother resided in.

Clarissa picked up her phone and quickly sent Lily a Whatsapp message. ‘Did Madelynn go to the

company on Monday?’ A few moments later, Lily’s reply came in. ‘Girl, I just dug around for intel from

the receptionist. They said Madelynn would go straight to the CEO’s office whenever she dropped by!’

Madelynn must have said something to Davien.

Clarissa failed to understand why Damien, the CEO of the New East Corporation, would have so much

blind faith in Madelynn’s words. It was ridiculous, she couldn’t fathom it.

Was it because Madelynn had been his first love? Was that the reason why he would believe

everything she said, no matter how idiotic? That day, Clarissa thought Madelynn was seriously at the

shooting location. She never expected that the latter would notice her aniidst the huge crowd.

Madelynn must’ve gone to great lengths just to make Clarissa’s life hell. With how hard the former was Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

working, she should be rewarded.

Upon reaching home, Clarissa grabbed her blanket and shuffled to the next bedroom.

Today, Damien had successfully humiliated her in front of everyone.

“Are you heartbroken?” Damien asked coldly.

“Do you realize just how much you wounded my pride? Why didn’t you ask me whatever questions you

had for me?” Clarissa scethed angrily as she stood firmly in the living room,

“As if you’d tell me the truth!” Damien snarled back mockingly.

“That’s right! I won’t tell you the truth! I’ll just let Madelynn tell you everything on my behalf! Whatever

she says is the truth to you, right?!” “Isn’t what she said the truth?”

Clarissa was so furious, she didn’t know how to respond.

Filled with rage, she knew that Madelynn had only witnessed her and Joseph talking. The woman

probably didn’t manage to eavesdrop on their conversation. Madelynn most likely told Damien that

Joseph grabbed Clarissa’s hand. The rest of her story was probably made up and dramatized.

When Clarissa told Joseph that her marriage was valid and authentic, Madelynn probably didn’t hear a

word of that. Even if Madelynn did, she most likely chose not to tell Damien that.

All Madelynn intended to do was to drive a wedge between Clarissa and Damien, so that they could get

divorced soon.

“Try seducing another man in the future, I dare you!” Damien’s tone was awfully cold when he issued

the final warning to Clarissa.

The word ‘seducing’ infuriated Clarissa so much, she could only sit back down on the bed while

hugging her blanket.

“You’re not allowed to sleep in the bedroom next to ours!”

A pair of reddened eyes shot up to glare angrily at Damien. “You tyrant! You’re a despicable tyrant! Not

only are you selfish and possessive, but you also don’t give two flying f*cks to how other people feel!”

“Do you want to divorce me this badly?” Damien smiled, though it was one that failed to reach his eyes.

“Of course! I want to escape this prison!” “Dream on!”
