Chapter 32
Chapter 32
Judith looked at Adam guiltily. “Adam, you come here for work. I don’t want to affect your job.” Adam knocked her on the forehead. “Don’t be silly. It’s a pleasure to help you. And I’m free this weekend.” “It hurts!” Judith let out a cry mischievously although it didn’t at all. Adam chuckled and patted Judith’s head. “You are a good actress!” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Soon, they arrived at the building where Judith lived. Adam felt reluctant to part with Judith. He even wished the road to be longer. He looked at Judith and smiled gently. “It’s too late. You have to work tomorrow. Good night!”
“Well. Good night! Get home safe!” Judith said. She felt warm and grateful. Actually, she had asked Adam not to walk her home because it was very late, but he insisted. “I will! You could go up first.” Adam urged gently. Judith said goodbye and walked to the apartment. Adam had been staring at her back. He didn’t leave until the lights on the fifth floor were on. He thought about what had just happened and smiled happily. After returning home, Judith took a shower and went to bed. The Taylor’s was a villa that had a good view of the river. What was more, it was next to the Chaney’s. So, the two families had a good relationship. Edwin slowly pulled into the driveway in front of the garage. Frank opened the door and came out. He looked back at Gary and coldly commanded, “Gary, find out Judith’s identity and who the man next to her is. Don’t let anybody else know about this.” Gary also nodded with a solemn expression. After so many years, he knew Frank had been waiting for Jodie for many years and hoped that he could find her this time. Frank walked towards the three-story villa. It was bright inside. He revealed a cold smile. Frank pushed the door open. The decoration and furnishings were luxurious and elaborate! He changed into slippers at the entrance. The servant, Susan, greeted Frank with a smile. “Mr. Frank, welcome back.” Frank nodded slightly. Susan continued, “Mr. Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are on the second floor. Miss Eliza and Mr. Steve are both there.”
“Well! I see.” Frank spoke to Susan friendly. He glanced at the stairs, and a strange look flashed across his face. Then he strode upstairs. As he walked, the laughter and talking became clear. A sudden sadness took hold of him as Frank thought of his mother who had disappeared. “Mom, it would be a warm place here for me if you were still here,” Frank thought to himself. As soon as Frank entered the room, he heard a sharp voice. “Oh! Frank is back!” It was his stepmother, Gina.
Frank looked at her and sneered, “What? Are you surprised to see me return in one piece?” Gina paused for a second when she heard it. Other people there also changed their faces. Carlo, Frank’s father, was dressed in grey home clothes. He was sitting on the sofa and staring at Frank seriously.
