Chapter 45
Sofia Andrew
It has never occurred to me that Angel would have an apartment in the best part of the country, let alone that he would bring me here. As soon as I entered the place, I immediately recognized the complex because we installed security systems for all apartments and entrances a year ago. I saw him enter with an aura as a tenant, and I know he had to be the owner of an apartment, but we have all names of the owners, how come I didn't see his name?
When I entered his apartment, I noticed that it was a lot better than the others we had been to. The elevator leads directly to a small room where you can leave your belongings. Then, down a hallway, there was the hall connected to the living room. To the left is another hallway and a pretty spiral staircase to the second floor. On the right side, you'll see two types of two living rooms: one with a more sporty look and the other, which is separated by sliding glass doors that literally disappear, is the kitchen, which provides communication between the living room and the dining room. There is a balcony that gives you the best view of the city and it's my favorite part. It's safe to say that I fell in love with this place.
It is like a fairy tale where the princess came to a castle, but this one has no knights, only the prince, not a charming one, but a cold, unreliable and cruel one, yet a gentleman, brave, and nice at the same time. How can you not fall in love? Also, he cooked a nice meal for me, and it was romantic. He told me about himself, about the things he likes; but the best is "I love you" and his promise.
"You're distracted." He told me that snapped me out of my daydream.
"I was thinking about what you told me, about all this."
"I am not lying to you, Sofi, I know you may have doubts, and I understand. After all, I have not been the best husband, I have not paid attention to you, I have not been a loving husband, on the contrary, our marriage was not for love, but for a contract." "We spent it fighting instead of getting to know each other, listening to what they were telling us instead of talking to each other. We have a serious communication problem." I joked and we both laughed.
"But we will solve it, Sofia, I'm serious about this. I've been blaming you for five years for what happened to my baby and I held onto it to hate you, but I couldn't."
"I can feel your sincerity and I want to tell you something that I should have told you long ago, but I'm afraid you won't believe me. I hope you will believe me."Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Tell me what you didn't tell me." He demanded and I hoped he would believe me.
"Do you remember what you told me the night you were with Elisa? That you're drunk and can't remember how you woke up in the room with him."
He nodded but looked confused. "Yes, Sofia, that's when everything changed."
"Well..." I trailed off, unsure whether to tell him or not. "I'll tell you and if you believe me, that's good, if not, then no."
"Sofia, stopped rambling and got to the point. What is it?"
"You didn't spend the night with Elisa and I know exactly why... because you spent the night with me," I started and his eyes widened in surprise before it filled with doubts. "I mean, it's not that we were together or anything like that. You were already drunk and you found me in the kitchen, you were complaining to me about something that I still don't understand and I wasn't feeling well so I let you put me in a room. You helped me throw up and then we went to bed. We even interrupted a couple who I think were the ones who made the room a mess."
He was silent for a minute and covered his face with his hands. "So what are you trying to say? Sofia, do you know what you're talking about?"
"We fell asleep at the same time, and when I woke up, you were still asleep. I was scared because I saw you with Elisa in the garden, and Amelia was not there so I ran to my house."
"Why didn't you tell me anything after that?"
"And what should I tell you? We were drunk, but we just slept? You're with Elisa and you no longer talk to me so I thought it was not a big deal."
"Do you understand what you are saying, Sofia? Why didn't you tell me that when I mentioned it to you?"
"I was angry and you still don't believe things. How can I tell you that it is not possible that you spent the night with her if you were with me? Amelia convinced me that I should tell you, now it's up to you to believe me or not."
He got up and walked around the room while drinking his frustration away.
"Sofia, that night turned my whole life upside down, and now you're telling me that it didn't happen?"
"How was I supposed to know that Elisa will come to the room when I leave, and will invent something?" I couldn't help but snap at him and I sighed to calm myself down. "Did I spoil the night?
He looked at me, and took a deep breath. "No, it's just that, a lot happened that day that changed our lives. I saw you enter a room with Kevin and then he came out saying you slept with him. I woke up with Elisa, and thought I took her virginity, and now you're saying that nothing happened."
"Do you believe me?" I asked in hesitation and he smiled before hugging me. "I know I should have told you long ago, but you always question everything I tell you."
"We said we'd trust each other, didn't we? What else do you want to tell me?" He asked gently.
"How far long was Elisa when the baby died?" I asked and his expression changed. "Just curious." "Five months and a half, why?"
My shoulders almost dropped in disappointment. "So it was not that night that she became pregnant."
Angel himself looked uncomfortable. "Do you really want to talk about that?" He asked and I shook my head. "Is there anything more to be said to me?"
I thought of anything I could say to him, but found none. "No, nothing more, what about you?"
"Not that I know of. Shall I serve you another cocktail?"
"Yes, please," I eagerly replied and he poured me another drink.
I don't want to think about anything, and just focus on us. Treasure this moment because who knows when it will end?
"Let's toast as an agreement that we will try this relationship without lies and mutual trust." Angel said and we toasted.
We continued to dance with me in his arms and constantly shared things about each other.
"Angel, why do we let others rule our lives?" I thought out loud.
"I don't know, maybe because we were stupid," he chuckled and stared at me. "Sofia, I'm tired of feeling angry and doubting everything. I have been happy the past few days because of you, and I don't want to lose that." "Where is Elisa in this story?" I found myself asking.
"I've always felt guilty because I took her virginity, but now that you've told me that night didn't happen, I don't know what to think anymore. I always felt guilty for not loving the mother of my son and I tried to make her feel the best I could, knowing that you were allegedly the one to blame...I thought the best thing was to just ignore you, but we both suffered greatly and I'm tired of that."
"I don't want you to lie to me, Angel, because you will make me suffer a lot and five years of blaming me is enough."
"I know now and I want to reward you for it. I want to make you happy."
I have my doubts, but I want to believe him. He gave me a kiss and I responded as I held him close to me, pouring everything in that kiss, his hands stuck closer to my waist, invading my mouth. We stayed like that for God knows how long and we parted when we both couldn't breathe anymore.
"Do you want to see the rest of the house?" He casually asked, but I can see the mischievous look on his face.
"Why not?" I replied and he took my hand and began to show me his apartment.
We get to the top which was not as nice as the bottom part, to the right of the stairs where you will find a hallway with a living room just a few steps away from it. It has aglass railings and two studio-type rooms.
To the left is another mini room with a television, a more recreational area and two more bedrooms at the end.
"Wait a second," he stops me in the middle of the hallway. "Close your eyes." He instructed me and I narrowed my eyes at him but obeyed anyway.
"Don't you dare trick me," I warned him as he guiding me along the way. I felt nervous, but excited at the same time.
"When I tell you to, open your eyes."
"Okay, but you're not going to kill me, are you?"
"Never in my apartment. It'll be a pain in the a*s to clean." he says mockingly and I hit him.
"Angel!"
"Open your eyes."
When I did, I was stunned as I surveyed the place. It was a large room of a man who looked like him, in black and white colors. On the right, there is a large window that connects to another balcony that provides an exclusive view of the city. There is a small hall with a piece of furniture and a small table where a computer is. In front of us is a queen-sized bed, and what surprised me was that it was decorated with red flowers, candles and the smell of vanilla, which he also smells like.
"A surprise fit for a queen, though it is still rather simple compared to what you deserve."
"Angel, this is very detailed, and romantic. At what point did you do all of this?"
"So you can see that I make time for you." He teased as he grabs me by the waist.
"Mr. Leffman, were you certain that I will accept your invitation?"
"No, but I took the risk. I love you, Sofia, and if it was up to me, I would have done better, a honeymoon you deserve, but we have many commitments now, so..."
"It's perfect," I told him with a smile and I kissed him.
I am his, and after tonight, I will completely be his, and he is mine and no one will take him away from me.
"I knew that when I taste those lips I will become addicted and this will be my downfall. And I was not wrong."
"And you must kiss a lot better than I ever imagined."
"Have you dreamed a lot about me?"
"Yes, and they were nightmares," I joked and he laughed.
"Tonight is not a nightmare, it will be a dream. Starting tonight, you will be mine, Sofia, only mine." Angel possessively told me.
"And you will be mine and anyone who dares to touch you will not have a good life, and the same goes for you."
"You sound so possessive. I like it." He grinned at me and gave me a wink.
"And you're not?" I asked and rolled my eyes.
He squeezed my waist a little harder than normal. "More than you think."
I reached for his face and kissed his lips. "You don't know what you're getting yourself into, Angel, because once you're mine, there's no going back."
"That's what I said, madam. The moment you become mine, you won't be able to leave me even if you want to."
"Angel, don't betray me because I will t*****e you." I warned him and he just looked at me while raising his eyebrows.
"After seeing how you destroyed Alexis, I don't doubt it," he caressed my face. "I've wanted this for a long time so now that I have you, I won't do anything to lose you, and even more so after that threat." "I will make you happy." He promised and I can see the sincerity behind those words in his eyes.
"I hope so, Mr. Leffman."
