I love you till the end, Mr. Buenavista

HOSPITAL

When Zachary looked in the rearview mirror to see Samarra and Claudel sitting in the backseat, he was blown away by the wind.

He was concerned about Claudel but more about Samarra because he had no idea what was going through her mind. Her face was expressionless.

What was he afraid of?

What if Samarra decides to divorce him without even explaining why?

He shook his head and swallowed.

No, he can’t.

He couldn’t sleep for four days because he wasn’t in bed with her. It was hellish torture for him.

He took a deep breath and fixed his gaze on Samarra.

“Love?”

He and Samarra locked eyes in the rearview mirror and frowned as he noticed tears forming on both sides of her eyes. Because of Samarra’s apparent fear, he cursed as if he wanted to scold himself. Her eyes were filled with tears.

“Keep your eyes on the road, Cadden, and drive fast so we can get to the hospital immediately; maybe something happened to your baby.”

Zachary couldn’t argue with Samarra because he could see her averting her gaze and wiping away her tears.

He wanted to express his displeasure with the phrase “your baby” because he was not the father of Claudel’s pregnancy. He tried to reprimand Claudel but realized it wasn’t the right time.

“Urgh! My child… Zach, please… please hurry up.” Claudel wept.

“Shh… The baby will be fine. Margarette, try to relax.” Zachary sped up the car so they could get to the hospital right away.

When they arrived at Mendrez Medical Hospital, Zachary jumped out of the driver’s seat and went around in the backseat to help Samarra and Claudel.

“Go on. Cadden, please help her,” Samarra informed him when she exited the car without even waiting for him to assist her.

Zachary wiped his brow because visible tears were forming in Samarra’s eyes, but he couldn’t explain due to Claudel’s condition.

“Love?!”

“Zach… my… baby…”

Zachary took a deep breath and looked at Samarra. He disliked the apparent emotion in Samarra’s eyes.

“Love?!”

“Stop talking! First, help her.” Zachary nodded, perplexed, and then lifted Claudel.

When the nurses on duty noticed them, they immediately stepped in to help. Claudel was quickly attended to and placed on a stretcher for transport to the emergency room.

“May I inquire about your relationship with the patient, Sir?”

When the nurse asked a trace on Samarra’s face, who was waiting for him to answer, he quickly turned to him.

“A friend,” he said quickly to the nurse, not taking his gaze away from his wife. He wanted to hug Samarra and hold her in his arms to relieve her pain. He knew even if Samarra didn’t say anything. He assumed she was trying to hold back by her actions.

“What became of the patient, Sir?”

“Her stomach aches unexpectedly,” he said quickly.

He noticed Samarra’s stunned and bowed expression; he knew she was still uncomfortable about what had happened to Claudel. So he squeezed her hand and signaled that everything would be fine.

“Is the patient pregnant?”

“Yeah, I believe so.”

The nurse informed them Claudel was taken to the emergency room to be evaluated for injuries. Following her examination, she underwent an ultrasound to determine whether the baby was healthy in the mother’s womb. The nurse told them much more, but his focus was on Samarra. He noticed the simple wiping of her eyes.

When the nurse left, he put his arm around Samarra and motioned for them to go inside, but Samarra shrugged and walked in first. He only scratched his neck before following Samarra. He noticed her sitting on the long bench across the emergency room door. He approached her, squeezed her hand, and leaned back in his chair.

“I’m sorry, Ara. I was shocked just now. I’m so-”

When Samarra unexpectedly hugged Zachary, he couldn’t finish what he was about to say. He could see the movement of her shoulder while she sobbed softly.

“Shhh… Stop crying. It’s not your fault, “Zachary consoled Samarra.

“I’m sorry if I pushed Claudel; I didn’t mean to, Cadden.”

“I know, hmmm.”

He kissed Samarra on the lips.

He knew Samarra didn’t mean to push Claudel because he saw it. He didn’t approach because he wanted to hear Samarra and Claudel’s responses. He was curious to learn what Samarra would do. He’d be satisfied if Samarra could give him up right away. Samarra is prepared to fight for him.

“‘Love, I’m sorry. What if? Is the child…?”

“Shhh… The baby will be safe. Don’t worry, hmmm.”

He kissed Samarra on the lips. And he had to stop whatever she was saying because her negative thoughts were not helping their situation.

“Cadden.”

When he heard Samarra’s faint call, he immediately lowered his gaze. He noticed the swelling and redness in her eye.

“Yes, love?”

“Are you mad?”

He gently lifted Samarra’s chin to meet their gaze.

“I’m not mad, and why should I be?”

“Because of what happened with your baby and Claudel; sorry, I didn’t mean it that way.”

He kissed Samarra on the cheek and hugged her tightly.

“Love, no worries, Claudel, and baby will be fine,” he comforted Samarra when he saw her crying again.

“Cadden?!”

“Hmmm.”

“I understand if you decide to file for annulment and marry Claudel.”

Samarra’s words made Zachary frown.

“What?”

“Cadden, I want you to be happy; I don’t want to be selfish. So, I believe this is favorable to us.”

He stared at Samarra for a long time, his eyes wide open.

“How could you say that so casually? Ara, you’ve promised to always be by my side. Please… Don’t give up. I’ll speak to Claudel when she gets out of the ER.”

When he saw Samarra’s hesitation, he kissed her.

He didn’t care if they were in the hospital right now. When he felt Samarra respond to his kiss, he smiled and embraced her. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

“I’ll talk to Claudel, so don’t think about anything.”

He returned Samarra’s hug when he noticed her slight nod.

They had been in that order for a long time when Zachary noticed Samarra had fallen asleep on his chest. He took a deep breath and looked at Samarra. He couldn’t be angry with Claudel for lying because her stomach suddenly hurt.
