Chapter 984: He's Fine
Yanis didn't expect Zane to say such words. "He... is fine," she replied with a smile.
Bonnie nodded, teasingly saying, "Yes, yes, Mr. Lawrence is the best in your heart."
Yanis smiled but didn't say anything more.
Two people working together could always finish the task faster than one person alone. After tidying up,
Yanis played with Mles in the living room for a while before leaving the small villa with Zane.
Stella went with Brandon and the others. Sandy and Brandon had planned to stay at D-King Castle, but
since Sandy had resolved most of the issues, they decided to go directly to Linen Bay to stay.
...
As soon as Yanis and Zane returned home, before they even had a chance to change their shoes,
Zane's phone rang.
It was a call from Lawrence's Mansion, informing them that Old Mrs. Lawrence had accidentally fallen
while fetching water, spraining her waist, and hitting her head, resulting in a mild concussion.
So, Yanis and Zane hurriedly rushed to the hospital to see Old Mrs. Lawrence.
Sophia greeted them as they entered. "You're here. Old Mrs. Lawrence insists on going back home.
You must persuade her."
Yanis approached the bed where Old Mrs. Lawrence lay, comforting her softly, "Grandma, you should
stay here tonight. We'll wait for the doctor to finish the examination."
"It's just a sprain. I don't think it's a big deal. Let's go back home. I find it more comfortable there."
Perhaps because she was old, she didn't like staying in the hospital.
Yanis held Old Mrs. Lawrence's hand gently and said in a soft voice, "If you go back like this, we'll
worry about you, and we won't be able to sleep. Do you want us to be sleepless with worry?"
Upon hearing this, Old Mrs. Lawrence looked at Sophia and said, "Why did you call them? It's not a big
deal."
Sophia looked somewhat helpless as she replied, "You fell like this, how can I not inform the Young
Master and Young Madam?"
Old Mrs. Lawrence snorted, "You people are making a fuss over nothing."
Then she lowered her voice and said to Yanis, "Yanis, these doctors are not reliable. They're just trying
to scare you so you'll spend money."
Yanis felt both amused and helpless at Old Mrs. Lawrence's words but could only play along, "But isn't
it good to get a checkup to make sure nothing's wrong?"
Old Mrs. Lawrence looked at Yanis and said, "You're just like them. Alright, I'll stay, so tell Uncle Dylan
not to come. I'm fine."
This last part was directed at Zane.
Zane nodded, "Okay, I'll call them and let them know."
Zane nodded at Yanis and then went outside to call Dylan and the others.
"Why did she fall?" Yanis asked as she looked at Old Mrs. Lawrence.
Sophia spoke up, "These past few days, Old Mrs. Lawrence insisted on sleeping upstairs. She wouldn't
let me leave the lights on, and she didn't call me when she came downstairs to fetch water. She
stepped on empty space and nearly fell down the stairs. If she had fallen from the top, the
consequences would have been unimaginable."
"Yanis, don't listen to her nonsense. I was just..." Old Mrs. Lawrence started to explain.
"Grandma, no matter what, you fell. From now on, you'll stay on the first floor, okay? No more going
upstairs," Yanis gently interrupted.
Old Mrs. Lawrence nodded, "Alright, I'll listen to you."
Sophia brought a glass of water and handed it to Old Mrs. Lawrence, saying, "Take your medicine and
rest for a while. It's getting late."
Old Mrs. Lawrence was indeed tired. After taking the medicine, she soon fell asleep.
Yanis watched as Old Mrs. Lawrence slept and then turned to Sophia, saying softly, "Sophia, Zane will
take you back. I'll stay here and watch over her."
Sophia waved her hand, "It's okay, I'll stay here. If it weren't for being a little worried, I wouldn't have
bothered you."
"Grandpa is also at home. You should go back," Yanis insisted.
Old Mr. Lawrence hadn't been in good health lately, either catching a cold or feeling uncomfortable in
different parts of his body. He couldn't be left alone.
Sophia reluctantly agreed and went back to Lawrence's Mansion. Zane called Albi to take her home
and then stayed with Yanis at the hospital to take care of Old Mrs. Lawrence.
"You can rest on the hospital bed for a while. I'll keep watch here," Zane suggested.
Yanis shook her head, "I'm not that tired."
They both sat on either side of the hospital bed, watching over Old Mrs. Lawrence.
The next morning, Rachel and Dylan arrived early.
"You stayed here last night?" Rachel asked Zane softly.
Zane nodded, "Yanis just fell asleep."
Rachel checked the time, "You take Yanis back. Uncle Dylan and I will stay here."
Dylan also nodded, "Yes, we'll take care of her. You go rest."
Zane agreed, "Then I'll take Yanis back. When Grandma wakes up, let her know you're here."
Rachel nodded, "Sure, drive safely."
Zane carried Yanis in his arms and went back to D-King Castle first.
Yanis had slept for quite a while. It was nearly noon when she woke up.
Feeling a bit groggy, she got up from the bed and went downstairs directly.
"Awake?"
As soon as Yanis reached the bottom of the stairs, she heard Zane's voice.
She turned to look at him, "Why are you back? How is Grandma?"
"Grandma is fine. The doctors said she can be discharged today. Uncle Dylan and Aunt Rachel are
there, so we can visit her later in the evening," Zane explained.
"Great," Yanis replied with relief.
Yanis moved to the sofa and sat down, saying, "You didn't wake me up earlier. You just brought me
back."
"I saw you sleeping so peacefully, so I didn't have the heart to wake you," Zane said as he approached,
handing her a glass of warm water, "Are you hungry? Would you like something to eat?"
"Anything is fine," Yanis replied.
Zane reached out and gently touched Yanis's head, "I'll get something for you."
"What about Auntie? Why didn't she come today?" Yanis asked.
"I didn't ask her to come," Zane replied.
Yanis nodded, "I'll rest for a while. Let me know when it's time to eat."
"Okay."
Perhaps it had been a long time since she pulled an all-nighter, so Yanis fell asleep on the sofa shortly
after.
When Zane woke her up, Yanis was still a bit dazed. She sat on the sofa for a while before finally
getting up to eat something.
After eating, it was almost two o'clock.
Yanis didn't plan
to go to the store today, so she sent a message to Linda, telling her that there were two customers
coming to pick up their items and asked her to handle it.
After sending the message, Yanis looked at Zane, "Zane, aren't you going to the company today?"
"I'm not going. I already told Albi," Zane replied, moving closer to Yanis, "Are you going to the store?"
Yanis smiled, "Either way."
Zane reached out to pat her head, "Let me get you something first."

Yanis nodded, "I'll take another short nap. Call me when it's time, okay?"
"Sure," Zane agreed.
Possibly due to staying up late for a long time, Yanis lay on the sofa for a while and fell asleep again.
When Zane woke her up, she was still a bit groggy, but she sat up and had something to eat.
After finishing the meal, it was already close to two o'clock. Yanis didn't plan to go to the store
anymore. She sent a message to Linda, saying that there were two customers coming to pick up their
orders, and asked her to handle it.
After sending the message, Yanis looked at Zane, "Zane, you're not going to the company today
either?"
"No, I told Albi," Zane said as he handed Yanis a cup of warm water, "Are you going to the store?"
