Chapter 1042: Actually, You Can Just Ask Him Directly

When Zane heard Albi's words, his brow slightly furrowed. "What is she here for?"

"She said she has something important to discuss with you," Albi replied in a hushed tone.

Zane fell silent for a few seconds, his gaze lingering in the direction of the resting area. Finally, he

spoke, "Take her to the meeting room. I'll come there later."

Albi nodded, "Alright."

After Albi left, Zane got up and went into the resting area.

Yanis was already awake, lying on the bed. As Zane entered, she turned her head toward him. "Are Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

you done?"

Zane approached the bed and crouched down beside it, looking at Yanis. "Why did you wake up so

soon?"

"Just took a short nap. Not tired anymore," Yanis said as she prepared to get up.

Zane reached out and helped her up from the bed. "Are you hungry?"

Yanis shook her head, "Not hungry."

Zane sat down beside the bed and spoke softly, "Albi said Lisa is here. I'm going to see her."

Upon hearing this, Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "Why is she here?"

"Probably about Jo's matter," Zane replied in a low voice.

Yanis nodded, "You can go. I'll wait for you here."

Zane acknowledged, "I'll take you for a meal later."

"Alright."

Zane stood up and left to find Lisa.

As Zane left, Yanis's phone started ringing.

It was a call from Sandy.

Yanis answered, "Sandy?"

"Yanis, are you busy?"

Yanis answered softly, "No, what's up?"

"Can I come see you?"

Sandy's voice sounded a bit hoarse.

Thinking about the rumors circulating online the past few days, Yanis didn't decline. She directly asked,

"Where are you? I'll come to see you."

"At the hospital."

Upon hearing Sandy's words, Yanis was momentarily stunned, her tone anxious as she asked, "What

are you doing at the hospital? Is it a check-up?"

What Yanis thought and what she said were different. She didn't dare ask what she was really thinking.

Sandy took a moment before replying with a simple "Yanis, I'm waiting for you at the hospital entrance."

Yanis replied, "Alright."

After ending the call, Yanis got up from the bed, quickly adjusted her clothes, and hurried out of the

resting area.

As Yanis left, Zane was still in his office.

While walking out, Yanis dialed Zane's number. However, just as she was about to call him, Zane's

phone began ringing inside his office.

Yanis turned her head in the direction of the ringing and then retracted her gaze, ending the call before

walking out of the office.

Just as Yanis left the office, she bumped into someone emerging from another office.

Yanis had intended to call Albi and have him inform Zane.

As a result, she bumped into someone before she could even make the call.

Yanis's first instinct was to apologize, but before she could speak, the other person beat her to it. "I'm

sorry, I hope I didn't bump into you."

Hearing the tone, Yanis lifted her gaze to the person standing before her.

Seeing Yanis up close, Ruth felt a sense of shock. She had only taken a quick glance before and

hadn't seen Yanis's face clearly. But now, with this close view, she suddenly felt that someone as

beautiful as Yanis could capture anyone's attention, let alone Zane's.

Those who appreciate beauty are countless, and Zane is certainly among them.

Moreover, Ruth had looked up Yanis's information earlier. She had learned that the internationally

renowned designer Eleven was none other than Yanis.

Yanis met Ruth's concerned gaze and gently shook her head. "It's alright. Are you okay?"

Ruth shook her head. "I'm fine."

Yanis was thinking about Sandy, so she didn't waste time. She intended to call Albi.

Due to the proximity, Ruth was able to catch a glimpse of the contact name on Yanis's phone. "Are you

looking for Albi?" Ruth asked as she looked at Yanis's phone.

Yanis turned her gaze to Ruth again. "Yes."

With her acknowledgment, Yanis inquired, "By the way, who are you?"

Ruth replied, "I'm the project manager, Ruth."

Yanis nodded. "Ms. Walpole, could you please tell Albi that I have something to attend to and I've left."

Ruth nodded. "Sure."

After exchanging greetings with Ruth, Yanis quickly left the company. She hailed a cab at the entrance

and headed straight to the hospital to find Sandy.

Outside No. 1 Hospital.

Sandy stared at the test results in his hand absentmindedly. The rumors about Viteto had not died

down, even though they weren't as intense as before. Reports about Brandon and the other woman

kept surfacing – dining together, shopping together, even frequenting the same club and hotel at night.

And Brandon hadn't contacted Sandy much since that phone call a few days ago. While Brandon

continued to call every day, Sandy hadn't picked up any of his calls.

Brandon always provided detailed explanations about the rumors, and Sandy opened their chat window

on her phone. As she looked at the messages, she furrowed her brows and then shut off her phone.

As soon as Yanis stepped out of the car, she spotted Sandy crouched on the side of the road. She

approached and softly called out, "Sandy?"

Upon hearing Yanis's voice, Sandy looked up. "Yanis."

Yanis reached out and helped Sandy up from the ground. "Why were you crouching here?"

Sandy had been crouching for a while, so it took him a moment to recover after standing up. "I was

worried you wouldn't find me when you arrived, so I waited here."

Yanis glanced around and then led Sandy to a nearby bench.

The temperature in Manches City wasn't too high today, and they were shaded from the sun under a

tree.

Yanis and Sandy took a seat on the bench. "Did you finish the check-up? What did the doctor say?"

Sandy took a deep breath. "Everything seems fine."

The child's development was proceeding well.

After hearing Sandy's response, Yanis turned her head to look at him and whispered, "How have things

been between you and Mr. Hawkins lately?"

At the mention of Brandon, Sandy's expression changed slightly. After a brief pause, he replied, "Just

like that."

Yanis had seen the news about Brandon and the other woman. Yet, she still believed that Brandon

wasn't the type to be irresponsible. However, with these recent incidents, it was hard to avoid

suspicion. Furthermore, Brandon had not made any public statements about the situation, making it

even more difficult to trust him.

"Sandy, you can actually just ask him directly," Yanis whispered softly.
