Chapter 1016: When did Mr. Lawrence become so considerate?
Once Yanis steadied herself, she looked at Zane and said, "It's all your fault!"
Zane met Yanis's gaze and suppressed a smile, nodding, "Yes, it's my fault."
When Yanis noticed the playful smile on Zane's lips, she pushed him away and headed towards the
bathroom. "I won't be coming back for dinner tonight."
Zane followed Yanis step by step. "Do you have plans for tonight?"
Yanis replied, "I'm planning to visit Reed's place and have dinner with them."
As she said this, Yanis turned to look at Zane following behind her. "Do you have something to do
tonight?"
Zane stepped forward to help Yanis squeeze toothpaste and handed it to her before answering, "I'm
not sure yet. I'll know later in the afternoon."
Hearing Zane's response, Yanis nodded. "If you're free tonight, come to the small apartment and find
me?"
Zane responded, "Sure."
After Yanis finished washing up and came out, Zane had already tidied up the bed, removed the
messed-up sheets from last night, and replaced them with new ones. He even set aside Yanis's clothes
neatly. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Yanis couldn't help but smile at the scene. "Go change your clothes; Auntie is preparing breakfast."
Yanis walked up to Zane, reached out to hook her arms around his neck, and leaned up to kiss him on
the lips. "Mr. Lawrence, when did you become so considerate?"
Zane placed his hand on Yanis's waist, possibly because of her fresh scent after washing up, which
gave off a tempting allure. His Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily. "Yanis, don't you want to go
downstairs?"
Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis subconsciously glanced at her own body and quickly raised her
hand to block his view. "I need to change clothes; I have a client meeting at nine."
Zane nodded and let her go. "Get dressed and come downstairs."
Yanis replied, "Okay."
As Yanis was about to take off her clothes, Zane unexpectedly returned to the room after leaving for a
moment. Startled by his sudden reappearance, Yanis forgot her current state and just stared at Zane,
who stood at the doorway.
Zane also didn't expect to see this scene and his eyes visibly darkened.
Before Yanis could react, Zane quickly walked up to her and pushed her down on the bed, showering
her with passionate kisses.
As a result, Yanis ended up being almost ten minutes late for her meeting with the client. She had to
eat breakfast in the car.
Fortunately, when Yanis arrived, the client had just arrived as well. The client was a wealthy second-
wife, who, in the past, had dealt with a troublesome situation where her husband had an affair with a
girl in her early twenties and got her pregnant. He forced the girl to have an abortion, endangering her
life.
The second-wife divorced him and later married her current husband, who had a daughter in her early
twenties. Today, the woman was coming to Yanis because her stepdaughter was turning eighteen, and
she wanted to gift her a set of jewelry.
As for cars and houses, they already had plenty. The money she was using for this purchase was her
own savings, not her current husband's.
Yanis listened to the woman recount her past experiences and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to
save some money for yourself?"
The woman smiled, "I used to think that way too, but in one's lifetime, there's only one chance for
certain things. Regardless of the outcome, it's a lesson. But if it turns out to be the right decision, at
least I'll be at ease in the future."
Yanis didn't say anything more and handed over some design sketches on her tablet. "These are more
suitable for a young girl. Take a look."
After browsing through the designs, the woman chose the most expensive set - a necklace, bracelet,
and a ring - totaling $150, 000. For wealthy people, this amount wasn't much, but for the woman, it was
a significant expense.
"Are you sure about this set?" Yanis asked.
The woman nodded, "I want this set."
Yanis responded, "Her birthday is in half a month, and I'll contact you again. To proceed, I'll need a
deposit first."
The woman took out her phone and asked, "How much is the deposit?"
"Let's go with $50, 000."
Without hesitation, the woman transferred the money to Yanis. "Miss Thompson, I've transferred it to
you."
Yanis accepted the money and provided a receipt. "If I need to discuss any details, I'll contact you."
"Sure, thank you," the woman said.
After the woman left, Yanis returned to her shop to find a commotion at the entrance. A group of people
was causing a ruckus, and someone was hurling offensive insults.
Yanis furrowed her brows and walked up to see Bonnie's place in disarray. The models that Linda and
Stanley had set up yesterday were all smashed, and the dresses were torn to pieces.
"You shameless vixen!" a woman in the crowd pointed at Bonnie. "You, such a shameless woman,
deserve to die!"
Yanis frowned even more at the woman's harsh words and immediately stepped forward, pulling
Bonnie up from the ground. She then confronted the woman who was spewing profanities, saying,
"Watch your mouth!"
The woman was not afraid of Bonnie's help and sneered, "What? You brought reinforcements, so now
you think you're scary? You shamelessly seduced a man who could be your father, yet you're
pretending here?"
The woman's words grew even more offensive.
After insulting Bonnie, the woman turned her gaze to Yanis. "Birds of a feather flock together. Anyone
who hangs around shameless women like you can't be any good either!"
Bonnie had no intention of getting involved, but when the woman dragged Yanis into the situation,
Bonnie got angry.
She pulled Yanis behind her and faced the woman, her tone stern. "Say it again."
The woman was not afraid of Bonnie's threat and repeated the insults towards Yanis.
Bonnie's patience ran out, and she didn't hold back. She slapped the woman hard across her face. "I've
tolerated you for too long. Not to mention, I have no relationship with your man, and I don't even know
who he is. But even if we did, a woman like you is just making him blind!"
