Chapter 1006: Entrusted by Someone

Manches City seemed to have entered the rainy season. It had been raining heavily since noon, and it

continued until eight or nine o'clock in the evening.

Yanis had planned to go back, but due to the heavy rain outside, she sent a message to Zane, saying

that she would stay at Stella's place for the night to keep her company. Both Stella and Sandy were not

in good condition, so Zane didn't object and simply told Yanis to call him if she needed anything.

Having hung up the phone, Yanis returned to D-king Castle the next day at noon. The housekeeper

had also returned, most likely called back by Zane.

"Mrs. Lawrence, you're back," the housekeeper greeted Yanis as she saw her.

Yanis nodded and asked, "Zane asked you to come back?"

The housekeeper replied, "He said the matters were done, so you all came back early."

"Okay, I understand. Has Zane gone to the company this morning?" Yanis inquired.

"The master hasn't been staying here the past few nights. He came back this morning to get some

things and then left again," the housekeeper explained.

Yanis suddenly remembered that Zane had been staying at the Lawrence Mansion these past few

days.

"Alright, I got it. I'll go take a shower and change my clothes. Can you cook me a bowl of noodles? I'm

a bit hungry," Yanis said to the housekeeper.

The housekeeper replied, "Sure."

Yanis went upstairs, took a change of clothes, and headed to the bathroom. After washing up and

changing, she returned to the dining area.

As Yanis sat down at the dining table, the doorbell rang.

She looked towards the entrance and said, "Housekeeper, I'll get it."

The housekeeper responded, "The noodles will be ready soon."

Yanis went to open the door, and when she saw Mila standing there, she was momentarily surprised.

She hadn't expected Mila to come here.

"Miss Thompson, won't you let me in?" Mila smiled lightly as she stood at the door. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Yanis snapped out of her daze and smiled back, "Miss Hope, please come in."

Mila stepped inside. "Do I need to take off my shoes?"

"No need. We haven't been back here these past two days, so no one has been in the house. The

housekeeper is about to clean it," Yanis explained.

Mila nodded and followed Yanis into the living room.

As they entered, the housekeeper had just finished cooking the noodles and brought them to the dining

table.

"Madam, the noodles are ready," the housekeeper said, placing the bowl on the table. She looked at

Mila and was slightly taken aback but politely smiled at her.

Mila nodded back.

Yanis looked at the housekeeper and said softly, "Housekeeper, please pour a glass of water for Miss

Hope."

"Sure," the housekeeper replied.

After the housekeeper left, Yanis turned to Mila and asked, "Have you had lunch?"

Mila glanced at the dining table and said, "I already had mine. Are you just eating now?"

Yanis nodded, "I wasn't very hungry while at Stella's, but I got a bit hungry after coming back. I had the

housekeeper cook some noodles. Do you want some?"

Mila shook her head, "No, thanks. Eat while it's hot."

Yanis didn't insist and said, "Then just sit in the living room for a while."

"Okay," Mila agreed.

As Mila sat on the sofa in the living room, Yanis returned to the dining area. She couldn't figure out why

Mila had come to see her. Although she was feeling a bit hungry, she didn't eat much. After only

finishing half a bowl of noodles, she put down her chopsticks.

The housekeeper saw Yanis eating only a little and said, "Mrs. Lawrence, aren't you eating more?"

Yanis said softly, "I'm full. You can clean up."

The housekeeper acknowledged and proceeded to tidy up the table.

Yanis left the dining area and sat down on the sofa in the living room. She looked at Mila and asked,

"Miss Hope, what brings you here?"

Mila looked at Yanis and hesitated for a moment before answering, "Miss Thompson, to be honest, I

came here on someone's request."

Yanis, after hearing Mila's words, immediately thought of Madison. So, she didn't respond immediately.

After a brief silence, Mila spoke again, "You probably already guessed it; I came here on Aunt

Madison's behalf."

Yanis raised an eyebrow, "What does she want?"

Mila pursed her lips and said softly, "Aunt Madison wants to see you. Her condition hasn't been good

these past few days."

"But didn't she already leave the hospital? If her condition is bad, the doctors wouldn't have discharged

her," Yanis replied.

"When she was discharged, her condition was indeed good, but after Ivan left Manches City, Aunt

Madison's condition deteriorated. She has been talking about you these past few days. This morning

when I went to see her, she was crying alone in her room, and her eyes were swollen," Mila explained.

Yanis listened, and her emotions were hard to discern.

After a moment of silence, Yanis finally spoke, "And what about Uncle Baxter?"

"Uncle Baxter has tried to comfort her, but nothing seems to work. We are running out of options," Mila

replied.

Yanis wasn't sure if she should go and see Madison. She had repeatedly said in the past that she

wanted to stay as things were. Not just

in front of Ryan, but also in front of Madison and even Ivan. She didn't want to acknowledge this so-

called biological mother, nor did she want to forgive or involve herself in Ivan's family.

They were a family of three, and that was all there was to it. As for how she and Ivan would get along, it

was their business and had nothing to do with the family.

Seeing Yanis remaining silent, Mila hesitated for a moment before speaking again, "Miss Thompson, I

just thought that Aunt Madison is in a bad state right now. Can you really watch her leave this world like

this? Will you regret not seeing her one last time?"

Yanis, after listening, raised her eyes to look at Mila. "If you were in my place, knowing that your

biological mother abandoned you to join a wealthy family, not even bothering to inquire about you all

these years, only to suddenly claim to be wrong and wanting to recognize you when she's about to

leave this world, would you forgive her?"

"And in these years, you've suffered so much injustice. Would you forgive her?"

Yanis' words left Mila somewhat speechless. She wanted to say something in response, but in the end,

nothing came out.

After another moment of silence, Mila spoke softly, "I'm sorry. I just felt that Aunt Madison was in a very

difficult situation, so I agreed to come and find you on her behalf."
