Healing The 74
Healing The 74
Healing The Ruthless Alpha
Sihana’s POV
“Lama, are you okay?” A small hand reached for me, trying to help me up.
“I’m okay.” I said to the little boy who I’d healed in the past, Sam, was it?
“Hey, Sir, you are in big trouble! The boy put his hands on his hips as he scolded the man who ran into me. “That’s the Luma you just pushed to the ground.”
“Shut up, child.” The man said as I stood and patted the furious child.
“It’s alright, Sam. It was a mistake, I said but he shook his head.
“It wasn’t a mistake! I saw him! He ran into you on purpose!” He stomped his feet. “Hey, sir, it’s rude to act that way. Didn’t your mother teach you any manners?” He scolded.
I was caught in an awkward position. My derrière hurt from falling flat on it, my body felt heavy and I was getting lightheaded. The man continued to glare at me as if I’d been the one to knock him to the ground and the little boy who jumped to my defense was a second away from rushing at the man and I don’t know, biting his leg? He looked like he wanted to retaliate on my behalf.
“Do to know who I am, child?” The man sneered down at Sam then he raised his head to look at me with contempt dripping from his pores.
The olive skin, the air of arrogance and the unnecessary contempt, he must be –
Dorian Greyson.” The voice washed over me and I steeled my heart but too late, it was racing already.
Alpha!” The little boy exclaimed. “This man is a bully and he- and he shoved the Luna to the ground!” He pointed a finger at the large man still glaring at me.
“Little boy – Dorian growled, his eyes flashing red. “Do you know –”
“Do you want to die today?” Cahir cut him off, his tone low, quiet, warm even, but it sent a shiver racing down my spine. “You have a funny way of asking for death.
“You may be a mad Alpha but I am Dorian Greyson.” The man seemed to be swelling to twice his size. “I will neither bow nor bend over in the face of tyranny. Do your worst. With that he swerved away, almost hitting me a second time. I jumped away right as he went past me but he didn’t go far.
Cahir yanked him back by his collar and the large man stumbled. Cahir was in no way a small man, but Alpha Dorian had the build of a warrior, while Cahir was built like an Alpha. He did not carry around as much muscle and mass as the warrior but he yanked him back like a little kid.
His fist came like a blur aimed at my mate’s jaw. He missed by a millisecond and then he was on the ground, knocked down with a single punch.
“Take him to the dungeons. The words were spoken with a kind of sadistic satisfaction that had me shivering. They were spoken to the guards rushing out of the pack house. I blinked as did the child holding my hand.
“Woah.” Sam exclaimed. “When will I be strong like the Alpha?” The child asked, tugging at my hand. I
“What’s wrong with you?” I blinked again as Cahir came to stand before me. His palm came up to my forehead and then he frowned. “You’re burning up.”
1 am?” I blinked again but then shook my head. “It must be the surprise from falling over.” I beamed at him although I felt lightheaded. He looked worried. It was subtle but a frown marred his features and I didn’t want him to worry. Especially since his worry may spell disaster for Dorian who I’d come all the way
To save.
“What are you doing here? You can’t be going to the library this early in the day.”
“I am here to see you.” I gave him a smile but then schooled my expression when his eyes narrowed. He’d taken to accusing me of being in love with him at every turn. If I smiled at him or looked at him in a certain way, he accused me of being in love with him and then advise me to guard my heart. It was embarrassing, to say the least.
“Sam!” A woman’s screech pulled us out of our little bubble. The child, Sam, was staring up at Cahir with awe and adoration in his eyes. “Why do you keep wandering about!?” The woman exclaimed as she rushed over to hijack her child. She had eyes only for him so she didn’t regard our presence until she had him in her arms,
“Put me down! I’m not a baby!” The child clasped in her embrace exclaimed, wiggling about with red ears.
“Sam!” The woman called in a stern voice then her eyes caught mine and she did a double take.
“Oh, Luna.” She beamed at me then her eyes shifted to Cahir and I watched her smile wane. “Ah, Alpha. Good morning. I hope Sam didn’t cause any trouble?”
“No way, I am not a troublemaker! Indignation rang in his tone. “I saved the Luna from a bad man. I’ve been good, haven’t I? Will the goddess give me a kiss now?” The boy demanded, managing to wiggle out of his mother’s arms to stand on his feet.
“Sam, you’re a beta. The woman replied in a weak voice. “We discussed this already. Only outstanding Alphas receive the goddess‘ kiss.”
“But the Luna is an omega!” The boy pointed a finger at me and his mother slapped his hand down.
“We don’t point at people, Sam. Her shoulders slumped and she gave me an apologetic glance. “Let’s go inside.” She took her son’s hand.
“Hey, wait.” He p
planted his feet on the ground. “Can I visit you, Luna? Maybe then the goddess will notice me and give me a kiss!” He regarded me with wide eyes. Unused to children, I fidgeted, poking at the collar of my dress.
“The Luna is a very busy woman, Sam.” His mother urged him to leave but he refused.
“Ah, if it’s alright with your mother, you can drop by the Alpha Castle during the weekend, I said to the child.
It was comical and refreshing the way his eyes widened as he looked at me as if I’d given him a huge check.
“Thank you, Luna!” He rushed from his mother and barreled into me, hugging my waist, “I always wanted to visit the Alpha Castle.
Thank you” His mother barred her neck to me and Cahir.
“Do you like kids?” Cahir asked as he led me up to his office. As we walked past, people cleared out of our way without question. I nodded and waved to the numerous people greeting me while Cahir ignored
them.
“I don’t know.” I replied truthfully. “I haven’t been in the company of many.
My goal in Silver Moon was to exchange my service for the love of my pack. I worked too hard to have time to entertain kids and no one asked me to babysit their children seeing as I was considered bad luck. I didn’t know the first thing about children but now that was mated and to an Alpha at that, I would have to start thinking of procreating to provide an heir for the pack.
“What about you?” I asked my mate. “Do you like kids?” He gave me an unimpressed look.
“I don’t care for them. His tone was dismissive and uninterested.
“Does that mean you don’t want kids?” I joked. It was unheard of for an Alpha not to want a successor but his reply had me stumbling as he pushed open his office door for us to enter. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
