Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 699

Debra found herself momentarily lost in thought as Marion stepped to her side.

She whispered, "What game are you playing this time?"

Marion didn't respond verbally, his lips curling into an enigmatic smile. He took her hand, a display of affection in everyone's eyes.

Shelia's eyes flashed with annoyance. Her voice cut through the air, laced with irritation. "Mr. Houston, I get that you and Ms. Frazier are getting engaged, but I think you're stepping over the line here." Marion didn't even bother looking at her. He instructed Ben, "Show it to her."

"Yes, sir," Ben replied, stepping forward to hand Shelia a document.

Her face drained of color as she read the content.

Ben went on to declare, "A year ago, Mr. Houston invested eight billion dollars into the McKinney Group, securing a 25% share. This grants him decisive authority over major decisions."

Murmurs erupted across the room.

"Eight billion dollars? Is it true?"

"The appointment letter is right here. How could it be fake?"

"An investor of that level? That makes him one of the founding shareholders."

...

Shelia's face paled further. "This doesn't make sense. The McKinney Group has been in operation for a year, and not once have I heard of Mr. Houston's involvement. I refuse to accept this document as valid." Debra chuckled at her ignorance.

Back then, Marion loaned her the

money, taking her family's real

estate and stock shares as

collateral. The merging of the Fraizer

Group with the McKinney Group

allowed Marion to obtain a

significant share.

Debra had even given him additional shares as interest, never anticipating it would prove useful now.

Ben continued, "Ms. Blair, the document is legally binding. If you have any objections, you're welcome to challenge it in court. Though I doubt it will make much of a difference."

With no further ground to stand on, Shelia shifted tactics. "Even if Mr. Houston owns 25% of the shares, I'm still the GM, appointed by Mr. Nichols. You have no authority to demand my resignation."

She glanced around the room and added, "Besides, the altercation with Mr. Osborne earlier was a simple misunderstanding. I've already apologized, and I'm sure Mr. Osborne doesn't mind." Just then, Randy chimed in, "Oh, but I do mind."

Shelia's face darkened, and Randy continued nonchalantly, "I don't tolerate incompetence. Since Ms. Blair was sent here by Mr. Nichols perhaps Mr. Houston can give her a bit of grace and allow her to pack her things and leave on her own." Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

Marion nodded, feigning deep consideration.

"That sounds fair."

"Mr. Houston..."

"Someone, help Ms. Blair pack her things. I expect the office to be cleared within 20 minutes. Not a single item should remain." "Yes, sir."

The secretaries, all elite members of the Houston family, swiftly headed upstairs. Shelia finally realized that she had been played by Marion and Randy. They came here today with the sole goal of stripping away her authority.

The realization was bitter, and she let out a mocking laugh. "So, this is it, huh? You came here today just to protect Debra, right? I thought she had some real skills, but it turns out all she's good for is whispering sweet nothings into a man's ear. She can't take me on, so she uses your influence to force me out? How

pathetic and despicable!"
