Chapter 9
It’s amazing what can be done with technology. Aisling keeps a calendar online, and Caelin was able to hack into it and send me a copy. So far, she’s been to the coffee shop for a lavender latte, Cupid’s Call, and I beat her to the building where Dr. Alys Edwards’ office is.
I even got to speak to her a little, and she is absolutely stunning up close.
I want to kiss her lips, pull her against me so she can ride my thigh until she comes, and then fuck her until she can’t remember anyone else’s name. Growling under my breath, I shiver on the roof across from Omega’s Haven as I watch the building.
There are guards posted at the front entrance, yet no one walks in that way. I can’t get in there, and it’s pissing me off.
Guess I need to call in reinforcements. Crawling in through the skylight in the building, I drop down onto the ground. These are office buildings, and the one I’ve decided to use doesn’t have a tenant currently.
Caelin is doing surveillance on the fly as I need the help. My wonderful pack has also decided to make a group chat to discuss the little omega.
They’ve even asked for status photos. We’ve all lost our minds. I kind of like it. As I lift my phone to call my cousin, a text comes in. Grunting, I open it, knowing I’m safe from being found right now.
Grabbing the pole on the ground, I push the skylight closed for now, since the snow is beginning to fall.
Domh:
I’m visiting her landlord now. Shall I record his dickless screams for you all?
Me:
Fuck yes.
I don’t even hesitate, because from what I’ve been able to gather, Aisling Sullivan is a fucking saint. I’ve been researching the work that Omega’s Haven has been doing online, and I’m very impressed.
I’m only calling Morgan to go check out the organization because I’m curious about it.
Aiden:
Yeah, I need something nice to listen to on my way home.
Smirking, I can only imagine how busy he is running Cian around to events. Cian Sullivan keeps the peace between the families, his ear to the ground, and the public eye off of our affairs, by donating money to those in need. I wonder if he’s figured out how to donate to Omega’s Haven without his daughter realizing it’s him.
Caelin:
Find out what other shit he’s done first please, and then cover your tracks.
Me:
Let me know if you need a clean up crew. Aiden can arrange it.
Aiden:
Appreciate that, asshole. Of course I’ll sort it out.
Snorting softly, I leave them to it as I call Morgan. She knows I typically call her when I need an omega who can go where I can’t. It’s never anywhere dangerous, because her parents would fucking murder me.
Harris and Moira Collins couldn’t care less that they’re my uncle and aunt if I were to hurt their precious daughter.
I don’t think I would be able to live with myself either, so it works out fine.
“Evan, what are you getting into?” Morgan answers, making me smirk.
“Stalking a pretty little omega,” I say honestly. “Want to help?”
“Tell me why,” she grunts. “I’m not putting an innocent on your radar.”
“She’s mine, Morgan,” I growl. “Aisling is Aiden and Caelin’s scent match. It’s… complicated though.”
“I never thought I’d see the day when Pack Hayes found themselves an omega,” my cousin teases me. “I’m in the city shopping, where do you need me?”
“Have you heard of Omega’s Haven?” I ask her. “Aisling runs it. I want to know the inner workings of it all. I’m hyperfixating and it’s killing me that I can’t go inside.”
“You’re lucky that I’ve been meaning to go talk to them about something,” she sighs.
My hackles rise, and I snarl. “Is someone fucking with you, Morgan?” I ask. “You know we’ll fix it if they are.”
My cousin is the apple of my family’s eye. While there’s a lot of reasons she could be looking at services with Omega’s Haven, I still worry.
“Meghan is talking about leaving Pack Neumann,” Morgan says softly. I can hear her walking along the snow packed sidewalk, and my eyes narrow. “She has a two year old, Evan. Meghan won’t tell me everything when we talk, but Egan is hurting her. The rest of the pack are turning a blind eye to his behavior.”
“Unacceptable,” I growl. “How long has that been happening?”
Meghan grew up with Morgan and I and we’re distant cousins. She went to culinary school in Wisconsin, but didn’t finish because she caught a pack’s eye. I wasn’t aware of the complications happening over time. Running away with a toddler is easier said than done.
“She won’t tell me,” Morgan whines. I can hear her sniffling, and I wince. Fuck, I need to dial down the crazy. “I want to see if they can help her, Evan. Promise me you’re not going to hurt anyone in that building.”
“As far as I’m concerned, everyone who works or lives there is to be protected,” I promise her. “I want to know what she looks like when she’s completely immersed in things. Does she bite her lip, play with her hair? Please, Morgan.”
“Okay, okay,” she mutters. “You’re just as bad as your alpha boyfriends, I swear.”
Chuckling, I shake my head. “Nah, they’re much worse, Morgan. There’s a reason I’m here doing recon and not someone else.”
I have more free time, but I also have more patience than they do when I’m on the hunt.
“That’s up for debate,” she grunts. “Am I calling you after I’m done?”
“Yeah, that’s fine. Thanks,” I say. “Morgan? If Meghan needs help getting here, tell me. I’ll go get her.”
“Really?” she whispers. I want to put my fist through a wall that she would even ask. Taking a deep breath, I nod even though she can’t see it.
“I’ll be waiting for your call,” I remind her. “And yeah, if she needs it, I got her.”
I will also obliterate that entire sorry ass pack too. I may want to tie Aisling to a bed and make her scream for me, but I will never physically hurt her. She’ll fucking love every damn minute of what I do to her.
Beginning to pace, I mutter to myself. Domh must be rubbing off on me, because this frenetic expulsion of movement is usually his habit. Standing by the window, I watch the way cars drive past the building but never stop, and I grunt to myself as Morgan’s little red convertible does the same.
She turns down a side street, helping me realize there may be parking and an entrance that way.
I wait an ungodly forty minutes before her little car leaves the same way, and I finally get a return call. Forcing myself to keep my patience, I answer.
“Hey,” I greet her.
“I know I took forever,” she says in apology. “They needed all of her information so she could stay with them. I went through the paperwork with Aisling, who is a bombshell, by the way. Are you sure you want her?”
Chuckling, I shake my head. Morgan is bisexual and a flirt. I can see her scent matching with a female alpha. Her parents wouldn’t give two shits about it, and instead would ask her when the wedding was. She lucked out with them.
“Oh yeah, Morgan,” I say. “I managed to bump into her on one of her errands, and got a close up experience of how gorgeous she is. She’s definitely mine. I’ve already had a wet dream about her and everything.”
I forwarded a photo to my phone yesterday, and now can’t get my dick to behave.
“Ew, Evan,” she groans. “Fine, you win. Aisling is one of the most authentic people that I’ve ever met. I felt calmer as she talked to me, and I know Meghan and her baby are going to be in good hands. I’m just really worried about her.”
“Does she have her phone on her?” I ask.
“Yeah, she does. What do you need me to do?” she asks.
“Ask when she’s planning to leave,” I tell her. “Explain who I am and that I’m going to be her ride. Do not tell her I’m going to leave none of those fuckers alive, yeah?”
“Okay,” she breathes. “Good. I don’t want them coming after her and the baby.”
“Me either,” I say. “Text me when you have something for me.”
“Thanks, Evan,” Morgan says before hanging up.
Shaking my head, I raise a prayer in thanks that my cousin didn’t decide to go get her alone. I don’t care if she comes with me, but Morgan is wild and gets in over her head easily. Swallowing hard, I begin to text Morgan when I notice Aisling’s car leaving. Shoving my phone in my pocket, I sprint for the fire escape.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Fuck,” I mutter as I half run, half ride the rails. My vehicle is hidden in an alley, and I jump in to follow her. I catch her at the next stoplight.
There’s a note on her calendar that says Rage but no address. It can mean so many things, which means I have no choice but to tail her. I have to tap out soon to escort Cian’s grandparents, though.
Shit. Picking up my cell, I call Domh, wondering if he’s done with the landlord.
“Hey, man,” he grunts, leaving my imagination to run wild. “The landlord was a real piece of work.”
“Is he a dead piece of work?” I ask, keeping my eyes on the little omega driving ahead of me.
She’s a good driver, even in this snow. I wonder who taught her.
“Of course,” he says. “Not a drop of blood on me either.”
My lips twitch at his pride, but it’ll work in my favor.
“I’m following Aisling, but need to get to work. The only thing in her calendar left for today is the word Rage, but I have no idea what that means,” I tell him. “As soon as she parks, I’ll send you my location before I have to leave. Are you up for a little stalking?”
“Fuck yes,” he growls, making my lips curl up. “I want to see her. I’m the only one who hasn’t. I have no doubt you managed to get close to her today.”
“You know it. She smells incredible too,” I say, so I can hear his guttural groan as he gets into his car.
“You don’t play fair,” he grumbles. “I’m headed your way. There’s no clue as to what it could be?”
“None. I’m driving by storefronts in strip malls right now,” I say. “It could be anything—”
I hang up the phone abruptly as Aisling’s blinker turns on, warning that she’s about to turn, and I purposely pass her and turn at the next entrance. Doubling back, I see a sign that says Rage Away.
Frowning, I park, following behind Aisling at a good pace behind her until she walks inside the building. Peering into the window, I still don’t see any hints.
Grunting, I pull out my phone and search for the business to check out their website, only to find that it’s a rage room business. Aisling is in there to break some shit and blow off some steam. Good for her.
Sending the exact location to Domh, I begin walking back to my truck as I text the group chat.
Me:
Looks like our little omega gives herself her own attitude adjustment.
I add a screenshot of the website to my text before getting into my truck.
Caelin:
I bet she’s sexy when she goes wild and breaks shit. Are you going in, Evan?
Me:
I have to go to work, but Domh is going to work out some of his inner demons after dealing with her old landlord, aren’t you?
Domh:
Damn right I am. All I have to do is remember his laugh when I asked him about Aisling and her mom, and I want to kill him again. The guy was a waste of space. Guys, what do you think about buying that building?
Aiden:
I think you should get the paperwork in. It’s even better if the dickhead willed it to us, don’t ya think?
Domh:
My thoughts exactly. It’s already done. I’ll hire someone to oversee it that can be trusted.
Aiden:
You took care of our girl and her demons today. Hopefully, we can extinguish some more soon.
Tossing my phone in the cupholder, I drive to Cian’s house. I have a change of clothing in the back, and I’ll be taking one of the house cars this afternoon. There will be plenty of time to help Meghan tonight, and exorcize her demons.
We’re just out here doing God’s work.
