Flirting With My Ex-Husband

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Scarlett specifically picked a red off-shoulder ruffled knee-length dress from her closet. Her chestnut waist-length hair was permed into large wavy curls, which were loosely and lazily draped on her back. As for her face, she spent an hour on makeup. The bright red lipstick, which was the same tone as her dress, gave her a domineering aura.

“Hilla, I’m going to get a divorce.”

“Master, you’ll only meet a better person after waving goodbye to the wrong one.”

Scarlett raised her eyebrow. “Thank you. Bye, Hilla.”

“Goodbye, Master.”

It was 8:55 am when Scarlett arrived at the entrance of the City Hall. The place was not yet open.

Alexis called as soon as she arrived. “Lettie, have you arrived at the City Hall?”

“I just arrived.”

“Then I’ll wish you good luck in advance for getting rid of the scum and heading toward a new life!”

Not far away, a familiar black car stopped. Scarlett did not want to talk further. “Raymond’s here, I’ll hang up first.”

“Okay, okay, okay! Let me tell you—I prepared a huge surprise for you today. I guarantee that you’ll be able to hold your head high in front of Raymond!”

“I hope it won’t be a shock.”

After hanging up, Scarlett looked at Raymond, who was walking toward her, and smiled coolly. “Morning, Mr. Shaw. I’ll have to keep you for a while.”

As she spoke, she handed over the divorce agreement in her hand. “I know you don’t believe it. Here, this is exactly the same as the previous one. Sign it. Once the City Hall opens, let’s go through the procedure, and you’ll be rid of me completely.”

Raymond’s expressionless face finally moved a little. “Are you serious?”

Scarlett looked at him without saying a word. She suddenly laughed after some time. “Raymond Shaw, I’ve never fooled you with my words.”

‘You just never believed me.’

Raymond did not like Scarlett looking at him like that. She was not like this to him before.

“The door is open.”

Since Scarlett wanted a divorce, he would agree to it. It could save him trouble in the future.

At that instant, Scarlett heard her heart break.

When Raymond asked if she was being serious, she was somewhat expectant. She was hoping that he would ask her to stay, and she was hoping that he would refuse to be divorced. Nevertheless, he only said that the door was open.

Raymond was truly something.

Scarlett no longer smiled. She turned around and directly entered the City Hall.

Many people were getting married. The two of them were the only ones who arrived so early to get divorced.

Even so, Scarlett did not dress like she was getting a divorce. As such, when she and Raymond sat, the staff inside asked them dubiously, “A peaceful divorce?”

“Yes.”

Scarlett shoved the documents she had prepared long ago inside the window while she answered. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Getting a divorce was faster than getting married. The divorce agreement had long been signed, hence they only needed the City Hall to stamp an official seal on it.

The whole process took less than five minutes, then the two of them walked out of the City Hall.

Raymond was walking in front. Ever since they received their divorce licenses, he did not look at her anymore.

Scarlett stopped. Seeing as he slowly walked further away, she felt awful as if something was overturning in her heart.

All of a sudden, a Maserati stopped by the road. The luxury car was too eye-catching, which led to much of Scarlet’s blues being gone. She could not help but shift her gaze to that luxury car.

The Maserati’s door was pushed open, and a man in shades got out of it.

Scarlett only thought that he looked familiar. Not waiting for her to react to the situation, the man called out to her, “Scarlett.”

It was Mark Jones, the young hunk who rose to fame through a historical web series last year.

Mark was tall and long-legged. He reached in front of Scarlett after taking just a few steps. “Congratulations on regaining your freedom and getting a new lease of life. Elder Sister Alexis asked me to come and pick you up.”

Scarlett only felt her head ache. “Alexis goes crazy, and you go crazy with her too? Didn’t the roadshow for your new film just end? Why did you come here? Do you want more scandals?”

“Elder Sister Scarly, don’t be mad. Elder Sister Alexis said that you’ve just divorced Raymond Shaw. The Shaw family is expected to release the news of your divorce soon. We’re just getting a favorable position for the public opinion first, lest you turn out to be an abandoned wife of a rich family!”

Mark looked righteous and indignant. Scarlett was mad but found it funny as well. “Then I really have to thank both of you!”

As soon as she finished, a bunch of paparazzi swarmed out.

Mark reacted really quickly by protecting Scarlett in his arms. Nonetheless, he did it too carelessly and happened to expose her face.

Some b*stard then pushed her and caused her to crash into Mark’s arms.

Given that Mark was a popular idol of thousands of girls and had a notably handsome face, Scarlett would have to feel sorry for his good looks if her heart did not beat fast.

She had been married to Raymond for three years but had never been hugged so intimately before. When Mark embraced her like this, his faint customized scent kept reminding her of his existence.

Scarlett’s face was so hot that she wanted to get out of Mark’s arms, but he directly wrapped his hand around her head. She was covered by his arms so much so that the man’s orderly heartbeat was right next to her ear. Outside, there were questions from those persistent paparazzi and the sound of them taking photos. Scarlett felt rather muddle-headed. She was half-hugged and half-dragged by Mark as they moved forward.

Inside a black car, Raymonds’ black eyes did not turn for a long time as he watched the scene outside the car window.

Frank Lewis asked from the front seat after a moment of hesitation, “Mr. Shaw, should we help Mrs. Sh-, Miss Reed?”

Right after Frank raised the question, Raymond withdrew his gaze and looked coldly at him. “Are you a busybody?”

Frank trembled and answered, “No, Mr. Shaw.”

He was at a loss to defend himself, thus he could only quickly ask the driver to drive away. “Senior Johnson, let’s go.”

Frank did not know if he saw it wrongly, but he felt that Raymond’s face seemed to have darkened a little.

Raymond was not in a good mood indeed. His wife, no, ex-wife, had just divorced him for less than ten minutes, and yet she was in a man’s arms in a too familiar way at the City Hall’s entrance. If word got out, would people not think that they got divorced because he was cuckolded?

“Stop the car!”

Raymond did not like to be cuckolded, and he disliked other people spreading rumors about him being cuckolded.

“Get out and bring her here!”

Frank was stunned for a while and thought that he had heard wrong. However, when he turned around and saw the man in the back seat with a grim look, he immediately pushed the door open to get out of the car, then he walked toward the two people who were surrounded by reporters.
