Chapter 297
Chapter 297
Josiah James was the only son of Charlie’s uncle. The two were cousins, but they had grown up toget
her since childhood, so they were pretty much like real brothers.
Josiah, with a playful smile, said, “As long as you let Jonah drink this glass of wine, I’ll confess to anyth
ing!”
Charlie snorted, “Jonathan matters more!”
Josiah was as close to Charlie as a real brother, but he admired and respected Jonathan!
Jonathan glanced at Josiah and said with a faint smile, “Just confess properly, where have you been th
ese past two years? Once you tell me, I’ll forgive you
Josiah laughed foolishly, “It’s not that I don’t want to say, but I’ve been to so many places, I really don’t
know where to start.”
Charlie said, “Well, at least you can say what you’ve been doing for the past two years!”
Josiah said, “I’ve been doing a lot of things, but I haven’t disgraced you guys, especially Jonah!”
He emphasized this point.
Carson chuckled, “Stop giving Josiah a hard time, I guess he’s just been wandering around the world, n
ot doing anything outrageous!”
Jonathan picked up his wine and drank it in one gulp, saying lightly, “I don’t blame you, but from now on
, wherever you go, whatever you do, you have to tell your family and don’t deceive them!”
Josiah had always been following Jonathan since he was a kid. When Jonathan joined the army, he als
o joined. When Jonathan later became a mercenary, Josiah joined a peacekeeping organization too.
Two years ago, Josiah left J City, saying he was going to M Country to find Jonathan. Later, the James
family couldn’t contact him, and it was only when they called Jonathan that they found out Josiah hadn’
t actually gone to see him.
For the past two years, Josiah had been incommunicado. Jonathan used his power in the Triangle to tr
ack down some information about him, but his tracks were soon erased by someone else.
He suspected that there was someone else behind Josiah, so once he confirmed that he was safe, he
didn’t bother with him anymore.
Jonathan felt a responsibility on his shoulders, so it was only natural for him to lecture Josiah a few wor
ds.
Josiah laughed, “Jonah, I can handle myself, I won’t get into trouble!”
“You’ve been a handful since you were a kid!” Jonathan patted him on the shoulder and said, Have a s
eat!”
“Yes!” Josiah cheerfully replied.
Everyone in the private room was drinking and laughing, having a great time. After dinner, they still wan
ted to hang out. Josiah suggested playing pool, but Charlie hesitated for a moment before saying, “Let’
s save that for another day. We didn’t drink enough today, let’s go to Midnight Bar and keep drinking!”
Josiah didn’t object and went with the crowd to Midnight Bar.
As they left Culinary Paradise, Charlie walked beside Jonathan
and smiled faintly, “I did this for you, so you won’t be distracted!”
Jonathan glanced at him and calmly said, “I’d see her tonight anyway, it doesn’t make much of a differe
nce!”
Charlie showed a look of realization, “True, let’s go somewhere else then.”
As he said this, he was about to call Josiah, but Jonathan quickly shoved him away, “Enough chatter. L

wn car.
When they arrived
at Midnight Bar, they ordered drinks and sat down. Carson played cards with Josiah, while Charlie and
Jonathan sat on the sofa and chatted.
Charlie lit up a cigarette and said, “Josiah is willing to follow you, give him something to do.”
Jonathan, elegant and lazy, chuckled, “Sure, I’ll send him to the dock and have Brooks look after him, t
hat should keep him in check!”
Charlie laughed, “If you can manage to keep him in J City, my uncle
and aunt will definitely come to thank you!”
Jonathan snickered, “Forget it, as long as they don’t blame me I’ll be happy!”
“They aren’t idiots, they can’t even handle their own son, so why would they blame
you!” Charlie took a puff of his cigarette, looked up at Jonathan, and asked, “You once found his where
abouts, do you know what he’s been doing for the past two years?”
Jonathan’s eyes were deep and mysterious, and he said softly, “He seems to have joined a private org
anization, something like taking on missions to earn money, but he was not a mercenary!”
