Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 272

Chapter 272

During mealtime, Mrs. Lamont occasionally asked Estelle about her school lessons. Estelle would subtl

y steer the conversation towards Norah, so she could chat more with Mrs. Lamont.

Jonathan noticed her intention, and when their eyes casually met, he smiled almost imperceptibly.

Estelle quickly looked away, her face calm, but her mind tensed up.

Fortunately, Jonathan didn’t give her a hard time. He just quietly ate his meal, and when the servant br

ought dessert, he subtly handed it over, placing it closest to Estelle. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

As the meal was almost over, Jonathan finally spoke up, “Where are you going later, Ms. Macclain? I’m

about to go out too and can give you a ride.”

Estelle looked up and politely said, “No need, I can just take a taxi back.”

Norah chimed in, “It’s hard to get a taxi here. Let my uncle give you a ride since he’s going that way.”

Jonathan nodded, “My mom just asked me to look after you. Don’t be shy!”

Estelle gave out a dry laugh, “Alright, then. Thanks, Mr. Lamont.”

After the meal, Estelle bid farewell to Mrs. Lamont and Norah. Mrs. Lamont kindly smiled, “Come visit

whenever you have time.”

“Thank you for your hospitality!” Estelle thanked her again.

Jonathan waited by the door

for Estelle, and when he heard her calling Mrs. Lamont “grandma,” his brows involuntarily wrinkled, feel

ing a bit displeased.

When the two drove away from the Lamont family, Jonathan finally spoke up, “Could you not call my m

om ‘grandma‘?”

He already thought their seven–

year age gap was a generation gap, and her calling his mom “grandma” made him feel they had an add

itional chasm between them.

Estelle held back her laughter and said seriously, “It’s

not like I wanted to, but she told me to call her that!”

Jonathan frowned and looked away. When he saw a trace of mischief in her eyes, he became even mo

re convinced that she was doing it on purpose.

As the car approached downtown, Jonathan received a phone call from Millard. “Mr. Lamont, there’s a

bit of trouble at the dock.”

Jonathan’s expression remained unchanged, “Go on.”

Millard explained briefly, basically that Jonathan had ordered all the docks in J City not to accept Austin’

s goods. However, this morning, someone broke into Golden Bay Dock No.14 and beat up the Lamont

family’s people, so both sides were now in a standoff.

Jonathan’s eyes darkened, “Who is it?”

Millard replied, “It’s a small cargo handling company at the

dock. The leader is Xavier Flemmings, who has a bit of a reputation in the area. This time he’s deliberat

ely going against us. Probably because he has taken Austin’s money.”

Jonathan’s tone was cold, “I’m going there now!”

After hanging up, Jonathan asked Estelle, “Do you have anything to do this afternoon?”

Estelle asked, “What’s going on?”

Jonathan replied, “I have to go to the dock now. If you don’t have anything urgent, I’ll send you back to the Royal

Mansion when I get back.” Estelle’s eyes were calm, “I’m alright. Take your time!”

“Fine!” Jonathan nodded, turned at the next intersection, and sped towards the dock.

J City was a coastal city, and most of the foreign goods came by ship. Over half of the docks in J City belonged to the Lamont Group. Knowing that Jonathan wanted to

limit the entry of Austin’s goods, others chimed in, and no one dared to let Austin’s goods pass.
