Chapter 644 Leave Me For Someone Else
Naturally, Charles didn't appreciate being scolded by a young woman like her. With an eyebrow arched,
he snapped back at her, “I've heard that Skylar is dating Tobias. Some task you assigned me with,
huh? If I make a mistake and end up dead, I won't even get to spend any of the money you give me!”
Avery froze upon hearing that. D*mn, looks like I might've underestimated Charles here. I thought he
was nothing but a perverted punk, but he has actually got some brains in that thick skull of his!
“What are you afraid of? I could just arrange for a boat to get you out of here when the time comes!
Besides, do you really think Tobias would still want a woman that has been defiled by another man?”
she asked.
Still feeling uncertain about this plan, Charles said reluctantly, “I'll try my best to speed things up. Just
so you know, Tobias was the one who answered some of my prank calls back then. Keep in mind that
things aren't going to end well for you if I get caught, Ms. Jones.”
The look in Avery's eyes suddenly turned incredibly vicious as she replied with a sneer, “Oh, spare me
your threats. There will be no one to rescue you if you expose me.”
Because there was no telling when Charles would pop out to harass her, Skylar was plagued by
anxiety every day.
She called Cinque very early the next morning and asked if he managed to get any pictures yesterday.
Because Cinque had arrived a little late, all he saw was Charles visiting the karaoke bar and fooling
around with the escorts as usual. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Cinque also tried looking up Charles' bank account, but found nothing unusual with it either. The only
information he managed to gather was the fact that Charles had less than a thousand in his savings.
As much as Skylar dreaded seeing Charles' face, she decided to meet up with him again.
He who causes trouble should end it. I'll have to confront him in person if I wish to solve this issue.
Despite how fat and stupid he looks, he's actually rather smart and tricky...
Having prepared dinner, Madelyn ran after Skylar when she saw her leaving the house. “Aren't you
having dinner at home tonight? Mr. Ford specifically instructed us to make sure you eat your dinner
every day. He says you've gotten skinnier lately.”
Skylar was halfway through putting her shoes on when she paused and asked, “When did he say that?
How come I haven't heard about it?”
“Mr. Ford called earlier in the afternoon and asked if you were home,” Madelyn replied.
Huh... Why would he call home instead of calling me directly? Was he just trying to make sure if I was
home? He knows I don't have much work scheduled lately, so I'd head over to the office in the morning
and be home by noon...
Skylar thought to herself as she checked her phone and saw no missed calls from Tobias.
Madelyn was still standing there waiting for Skylar to sit down for dinner. Fearing that she wouldn't be
able to make it in time, Skylar told her, “You go on and have dinner without me. I need to take care of
some stuff at work and get a haircut.”
Since it wasn't her place to stick her nose in her employers' affairs, Madelyn simply nodded in
response.
Skylar would often be out and about whenever Tobias isn't around, so there must be something fishy
going on. Given how wild and adventurous she is, I doubt their relationship will last long at all.
Madelyn heard the phone ringing at about seven in the evening, only to find out it was Tobias after
answering the call.
“Ms. Jones did come back earlier, but she left a while ago. I think she went to get her hair done,” she
told him.
Although Tobias hadn't been keeping himself updated on the entertainment industry's affairs, he
noticed something was off when he heard what Madelyn said.
Where on earth would Skylar be getting her hair done at this hour? A lot of people have been telling me
that girls of her age tend to be a little on the wild side. I'll be in my forties after ten years, but she'll still
be in her prime. There's a high chance that she might get sick of me and leave me for someone else!
