Chapter 16
Chapter 16
Not long after, Lisa called his name, Scott turned around and was surprised to see Lisa's appearance
walking down the stairs.
Scott couldn't take his eyes off Lisa. The girl looked stunning in a red midi gown with an open-shoulder
model. Her long hair was left loose to cover part of her earrings which were also red.
“Scott,” she called with a smile.
"Y-yes," Scott answered nervously.
"Are you daydreaming?" she asked.
"N-no," Scott replied.
"Are you nervous?" she asked again with a mischievous smile.
"Well, to be honest, yes. You look so different," he replied.
“So, I just look different today? Did I look normal yesterday?
"No, it's not like that. You always look awesome all the time.” Scott's face turned red. The man turned
his gaze the other way.
Lisa smiled happily seeing Scott's face turning red. After her footsteps hit the first floor, she slowly
walked over to Scott and stood right in front of him. Now they looked at each other.
"Scott, are we going now?" Lisa asked.
"Um, yes. Come on," he said. Then, Scott asked the girl's permission to let him hold her hand.
Then they both said goodbye to Dorothy. She was in the kitchen at the time when she heard Lisa's call,
she rushed out and went over to them.
"Grandma, we are going now," said Lisa.
Dorothy was smiling then replied, “Yes, have fun, and don't forget to bring your keys. Just in case you
will be coming home late at night."
"I've brought the keys with me. So, you can go to sleep early," said Lisa.
"Okay. Go quickly before it gets too late."
"Dorothy, thank you and good night," said Scott.
"Bye, Grandma."
"Bye, have fun."
To be honest, Lisa and Scott were feeling nervous. The palms of both of them became slightly sweaty.
Embarrassed, Lisa pulled her hand away and wiped her palm with a tissue she took from her bag.
"Sorry, Scott. I was too nervous, so my palms got wet,” she said.
“Umm, my palms are also wet, I am nervous also. We are the same. Can I have the tissue please?"
asked Scott.
"Sure. Here it is." Lisa gave some tissue to Scott.
Then, when he arrived next to the front passenger car door. Scott opened the door and let Lisa in.
"Thank you, Scott." Lisa got into the car and sat down. Then, after Scott closed the car door, he walked
over to the driver's door.
In the car, Lisa observed the situation inside. Starting from the perfume that Scott put on the middle
mirror hanger that smells of coffee, to the music that turns on and sings country songs which are her
favorites too.
The car drove slowly away from Dorothy's house. That night, the streets were already crowded with
couples celebrating the weekend, after five days of work, on Saturday and Sunday they would enjoy a
relaxing time. Usually, almost all restaurants or cafes will always be full on weekends. Luckily, Scott
had reserved a place at the cafe he was going to visit with Lisa. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“To be honest, after being in this city for so long, I rarely go out at night. So, all of this was quite a
surprise to me. Very crowded and quite full,” said Lisa as she looked out the window.
“Oh, I thought you used to go out with your grandma. If you like, I'll take you out more often," Scott
said.
"Is it true? Would you like to show me more interesting places?” asked Lisa while showing her sweet
face and smile.
"Yes, I promise you. I know many beautiful places. Hope your grandma will allow it," Scott replied.
“Grandma will allow it. Oh yeah, where are we going for dinner?” Lisa asked curiously.
"At my favorite cafe. You'll like it."
"Are we still far?"
"We will arrive soon. Look at the front. They are there."
“Wow, from the front it looks so beautiful and comfortable.”
"Of course. You have to look inside, you'll fall in love right away."
"I'm getting more curious."
A few moments later, the car driven by Scott arrived at the cafe parking area. After the car stopped, the
two got off and Scott took Lisa's hand again. They walked towards the main entrance.
Lisa's heart skipped a beat. This was her first time going on a date with a man. At the age of eighteen,
it did sound strange for a young girl to never go on a date with a young man.
However, there was a strong reason behind it. It was not that Lisa was limiting herself but she couldn't
be like other girls in general. So when Scott took her out to dinner, she was overjoyed.
Then, they began to enter the inside of the cafe. As it turned out, Scott chose a table located on the
back porch which had a better view. Decorated with small lights and candles located in the middle of
the table, making the atmosphere even more romantic. Scott's romantic behavior did not stop there, he
pulled a chair and pleased Lisa to sit. For that beautiful girl, Scott was very polite. They sat opposite
each other.
Not long after, a waitress approached their table and handed them two menus. After looking for a while,
Lisa and Scott immediately ordered food and drinks. Then, after the waitress left, Scott also asked Lisa
something that had been quite curious.
"Um, Lisa. May I ask you a few things? If you don't mind," Scott asked.
"Please. If I can answer it, I will answer it," answered Lisa.
"How long will you stay in Stowe?"
“During this summer vacation. Why?" Lisa asked.
"Ah, it's okay. I just want to know. So, we can plan a lot more.”
Planning more things? Lisa became curious, what would the man plan for her? To be honest, Lisa was
very happy to hear the man's words.
“I'm getting impatient to see what your next plan is. Then, what's the next question?" Lisa asked with a
smile.
“My apologies in advance, I forgot to ask. Won't your boyfriend be mad that you went to dinner with
me?" asked Scott.
Lisa smiled, then replied, “I don't have a boyfriend. So, no one will be angry with me or you.”
"Oh thank goodness. While in Manhattan, did you often go on dates? For example with a male friend
who is in the same class as you?”
"Never. It might sound strange to other people.”
“Umm for being honest, it does sound a little weird. But, why didn't you ever go on a date? Did your
parents forbid you?” Scott looked closely at Lisa's face.
Lisa suddenly fell silent and lowered her head. Scott felt guilty for asking her that. However, the man
felt that there was nothing strange about his question. It sounded a little strange to him if a girl as
beautiful as Lisa never went on a date. Scott waited long enough, but the girl remained silent and didn't
say anything.
"Sorry, Lisa. If you don't want to answer that's fine. Let's talk about something else," Scott said.
"No, it's not like that. It's just—" he answered.
"Why Lisa?" asked Scott.
