Falling For My Mysterious Wife

Chapter 106

Chapter 106

Saul drove the car slowly. After a moment of silence, he said, “You know that Marcus had something to do the last time you were kidnapped, right?”

“Yes.” Elaina nodded and looked at him doubtfully.

Saul forced a smile and pretended to be calm as he asked, “Are you going to let him get away with it?”

Elaina raised an eyebrow without saying anything. She waited for Saul to continue. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

“The Lory family has connections in New York. Theodore alone cannot deal with them,” he said.

“So?” she smiled as if she had already known what Saul wanted to say.

Saul didn’t mind. He said bluntly, “I can help.”

Elaina chuckled. Her gaze fell on Saul for a moment, and then she moved her eyes away. “Help me? Isn’t it the fact that you’ve been coveting the Lory Group and wanting to pocket the Lory family’s property so as to build up your strength?”

She thought, if one makes more money, others will make less. Business is as simple as that. Of course, I can see Saul through.

“I can’t say you’re wrong,” Saul did not deny it. It was the fact that he wanted to gobble up the Lory Group. In such a way, he would be more confident when competing with Jalen.

Of course, there was nothing he could do if Elaina said no.

Elaina didn’t reply to him at once. Instead, she said, “I need to think about it.”

“Sure. No worries,” Saul said with a smile. He was confident that she would agree to it eventually.

He thought, as long as she wants revenge on the Lory family and doesn’t want to waste too much time, she is bound to agree to cooperate.

Their conversation ended, and they soon arrived at the entrance of the hotel.

It was a private banquet, so there were no reporters at the entrance. Only a group of security guards were there, responsible for verifying the identities of the people coming to the banquet.

Elaina and Saul attracted a lot of attention when they appeared together in the banquet hall.

Almost all the people here knew Saul, but not many knew Elaina. Only a few from the charity dinner last time did.

To their surprise, the woman, who was Mr. Dorthea’s last disciple, was friends with Saul. What was more, two looked close.

For a moment, everyone was guessing that maybe Elaina was Saul’s new girlfriend.

Jalen, the host of the banquet, saw Elaina and Saul at once. He tried his best to restrain the anger that was suddenly overwhelming him, walked over, and said to Elaina, “Nitzan is very happy to see you here. He is in the lounge. I will take you to him.”

He completely ignored Saul, who was aside.

“Mr. Halton, Ella is my female companion today. It might not be appropriate for you to take my female companion away. Don’t you think?” Saul smiled. His voice was not exactly low, and everyone around looked over.

Jalen suppressed his anger and smiled, “Mr. Judson, you’re thinking too much. I am just being hospitable.”

Saul did not speak. His lips curved, and his eyes were full of disbelief.

Elaina did not make any comment about the infighting between Jalen and Saul. She said, “No need. I will wait here. The banquet should begin soon.”

Jalen did not insist. He nodded and was about to leave. “Suit yourself. If you need anything, feel free to find me.”

“Mr. Halton, don’t worry. If Ella needs anything, she will come to me. You won’t be bothered,” Saul interrupted.

Jalen glanced at Saul coldly, wishing that he could throw Saul out. He figured that Saul was such a pain in the ass.

Soon, Jalen left. Elaina turned to look at Saul beside her. “I am here today to attend Mr. Halton’s birthday banquet. I am here to wish him a happy birthday. So, I want no trouble. Do you know what I’m talking about?”

She thought, Nitzan is always nice to me. I don’t want any fuss at his birthday banquet.

Saul, on the other hand, is like a timebomb that might blast at any time.
