*The next day*
Ryan’s eyes fluttered open as some rays of the sun that escaped through the window shone on his eyes. He blinked his eyes severally to get rid of the blurriness. He yawned softly and stretched his limp body when his hands hit something.
He stared down in surprise only to see Natasha lying next to him. He had most forgotten they slept on the bed together last night since he was already used to waking up alone.
He chuckled inwardly. He finally got one of his wishes to be able to wake up next to her. If only it happens everyday.
He smiled happily when he remember what transpired between them last night. He recalled how she wanted to continue, he did too but he had to stop her midway because he didn’t want their second night together to be in a measly motel.
He wanted it to be a very beautiful night. In his house or hers. Only God knows how he was able to sleep with such a huge boner. She really isn’t aware of what her mere touch or voice could do to him.
Another reason he stopped was because of the huckeys he found all over her body. He could feel anger burning in him when he saw them. He started to wonder if she had someone else she was seeing.
Then, he realized she isn’t like that. She doesn’t have a man that he knows of. Even if she does, she would have to leave that person because he is never going to give up on her. Not now, not ever.
He never expected they would go that far never did he thought she would want to do it again with him because of how she had been shuning his feelings for her.
That only means she had some feelings for him. That alone was able to make Ryan happy. Even though she didn’t loved him as much as he loved her, that tiny bit of feelings she has for him can grow into something bigger someday.
He smiled as he admired her face. She looked so beautiful that morning even though her hair was disheveled. He used hid hands to remove some of the strands of her long hair that cover her face.
She looked so peaceful while was asleep, unlike when she was getting agitated yesterday. She was fine, in the party. They joked together and laughed, genuinely. He could even notice her admiring his face while they were talking to some clients.
All those stopped suddenly when she saw him. Yeah, he knew what… who rather she was staring at. It was the same guy that had transferred from the branch in New York to his company.
Ryan wondered what type of relationship Natasha had with him for her expression to turn glum f4om just looking at him. He couldn’t forget how her eyes showed hurt and fear when she saw him kissing that lady.
He was still confused when something occurred to him. He was sure he had seen that man before. Since he could make Natasha that way, that only means that he is Natasha’s ex husband.
His brows furrowed as he wondered why he transferred here all the way from New York if he already had someone else he loved. And why was Natasha so scared when she saw him.
Cheating on her isn’t enough to be scared of him. Then, he recalled that Natasha was still with her husband for almost a month after she found out about his affair. Why stay that long if she was still going t o leave?
Also, there was no record of their divorce. They didn’t even go to court to register it, nothing at all. She just left. He started to wonder what must have transpired between her and her ex husband.
He was still deep in his thoughts when he Natasha moved. She mumbled some incoherent words before she moved closer to him, wrapping her hands around his neck and laying on his broad chest.
Then, she moved her hands and placed it on his chest like she wanted to feel something. Suddenly, she jolted out of the bed as if she had felt something really hot.
Thankfully, Ryan had made her wear his shirt the night before or else, things would have gone really bad.
“What are you doing in my room?’ She asked ehen she was finally able to regain her composure.
“What room?” Ryan asked as he stared at her with amusement.
*****************************
I looked around in surprise. This isn’t my room. Where are we? I suddenly recalled all that happened last night. My face flushed with embarrassment.
“What did you do to me last night?” I asked because I know that I would never act like that. It was as if some type of lust demon had taken over me.
Ryan laughed out when I asked that question.
“I should be the one asking you that.” He answered.
“What?” I asked.
“Weren’t you the one that came unto me?” He asked. Is he fucking kidding me right now?
“What? You kissed me first.” I was starting to get really mad.
“And you kissed me back. Then, you initiated the second kiss.”
“You kissed me back too.” I said, almost screaming at him.
“I know. I’m not denying that. But then, you wanted us to move to the next section even though I said no.” My face flushed with embarrassment when he said that.
His words were like a huge slap on my face. I started to regret asking him that question. It felt really embarrassing to be rejected by the same one that had always chased after me.
It really hurt my ego. Realising I had lost the fight, I decided to just ignore him. I sighed and left for the restroom while I heard his laughter emerging from the room.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
What an asshole.

I sat quietly in the car as Ryan drove home. We were finally able find a gas station since the rain had stopped so Ryan bought some fuel before we walked back to where the car was.
We have been on the road for some minutes and finally, we are able to see people. Really glad that I am getting home. I guess the network will be fine now.
I picked up my phone and wanted to try calling Abigail when Ryan placed something on my lap. I looked down only to see a jewelry box.
“For you.” He muttered as he kept his eyes on the road.
I opened the box and my eyes almost bulged out of it’s socket. It was a very beautiful necklace. It had the same design with he one he had given Molly on her birthday.
“Is this a matching necklace?” I asked.
“Yes, for mother and daughter.” He answered, making me smile. I have never thought that I would ever get to wear something like this with my daughter. Probably because I didn’t even have an idea that such thing exist.
How thoughtful of him to give me this.
“I would have given you this that day but I figured that it was Molly’s day so I decided to give you at the ball but you know…” He said and I nodded.
“Thank you so much.” I said happily.
“It’s fine.” He muttered and stopped the car at one side of the road.
“What’s wrong?” I asked then I noticed the car was stopping.
“Give me that, let me help you with it.” He said as he collected the necklace from me.
I raised my hair up and he put it around my neck.
“It looks good on you.” He complimented making me smile.
“I want you and Molly to always put them on.” He said.
“Okay.” I didn’t argue with him because I’m never taking something as beautiful as this off me.
“Also, I would like you to bring Molly on our next date.”
“Why?” I asked in surprise.
“If I’m to get into a relationship with you, wouldn’t you like for me to get to know your daughter?” He asked back.
“I’m not getting into a relationship with you.” I said.
“That isn’t what it seemed like yesterday.” He said with a teasing smile playing on his lips.
He didn’t just say that. Why is he always bringing that up? I frowned at him and turned my attention to my side.
“I was just joking.” He said. What type of joke is that?
“Don’t tell me you are mad at me.” He said again but I ignored him.
He held my chin and turned me to face him.
“I’m so sorry okay. I won’t even mention what happened last night again.” He apologised.
Better!!
“Whatever, just drive.” I ordered, acting like I was still mad.
“Yes ma’am.” He answered with a small chuckle and started the car.
I picked up my phone and was about to call Abigail when another call came in. It was from the beighbour around my parent’s house.
My face widened in horror when I heard what she said. My phone almost fell off my hand.
“Quick, drive to my parent’s house.” I said as soon as I ended the call.
“Why? What’s wrong?” Ryan asked in concern.
“Just drive there and be fast!!” I screamed at him.
Ryan, seeing me in panic kept quiet immediately and increased the speed of the car.
I just hope what I heard isn’t true. I hope that they are both fine. I prayed fervently within me but God chose to ignore me at such dire moment.
We got to my parents’ neighborhood and saw several people standing in front of it. There was even an ambulance there. I got down from the car only to see my parents’ house in flames.
“No no no.” I ran through the crowd of people and got to the scene. I tried to enter the house but the firefighters wouldn’t let me. I really needed to see my parents.
I struggled harder but it was still the same thing. When they were able to put out the fire, the medics rushed in and came out after some time with two bodies.
My eyes widened in fear. I pushed off the firefighter that was holding me with all my might and rushed to where the bodies where. They were unrecognizable because of how badly the fire burnt them. The bodies weren’t moving.
I didn’t know when I screamed out. How could this happen?? How could my very own parents be in state. They were both fine when we saw last. How could this happen to me??
I didn’t know when I bursted into tears. I cried l I like I never had. The firefighters tried to take me away, saying that it was dangerous but I pushed them off me.
“Please mum.. dad, please wake up. Don’t leave me please..” I pleaded as I tried to touch their bodies. I wished it wasn’t real. I wished they would just show up in front of me and tell me that they weren’t the one I’m seeing.
While the tears were almost blinding my eyes, I noticed someone familiar amongst the crowd of people that surrounded my parents’ house. He stared at me with a devilish smirk.
My eyes widened when reality dawned on me. He killed them… Jason was the one that killed my parents.
