Chapter 18 Someone Tried to Kill Her
Chapter 18 Someone Tried to Kill Her
Viola was caught by hands in the blink of an eye. She was struggling in horror, almost broke the
decorations in corridor several times, but they were caught by the man.
“Shh, it's me.” As if to placate her, he finally said in a low voice.
Hearing that familiar voice, Viola stared at him with surprise.
As she was to speak, Steven put his index finger to his lips and pointed to the garage, indicating that
someone was still there. The sound of his footsteps became clearer and clearer.
“Come on, go up.” Steven took her by the hand and led her upstairs.
Viola had no choice but to wonder why Steven was in her garage.
The room was silent, the pure white furniture was deathly pale in the dim light.
“Hey, what do we do now?” Her voice was trembling. Over years, it was her first time to encounter such
a thing, she was sure scared.
“What? Are you afraid?” With a wry smile in his eyes, Steven was as relaxed as playing a game.
Viola lifted the corners of her mouth, took a deep breath and said, “No, but it happened suddenly and I
was a bit nervous.”
Steven raised his eyebrow, but did not expose her. She got sweat on her palms and still denied that
she was afraid.
“Good girl,” Steven said, reaching for her head and taking it to his chest, with a smile. “I'll protect you.”
Viola opened her mouth slightly, but she felt dry in her throat and speechless, with her heartbeat fast.
His clear smell and his broad and warm embrace made her had an illusion of security.
She had not had this kind of feeling for a long time.
Suddenly, the sound of rapid footsteps swept in from bottom to top. Steven smiled and listened
attentively. When the sound was close enough, he opened the door and kicked the killer in the chest.
The killer took off in mid-air and fell down the stairs with a loud bang. Steven turned back and asked
Viola to “stay here”, and immediately ran down the stairs.
Viola was stunned and peered out of the door, only to see that the killer had already stood up before
Steven arrived, eyeing Steven with a fierce light on his face.
“Who are you? Do you know whose business you are stopping!” The killer spat out a mouthful of blood
and looked at Steven with ferocious eyes!
Steven slowed down her pace and stood on the stairs a few steps away from him. His tall figure
revealed his power. Unlike the killer, his smile was calm.
He pointed at the door without looking back. “I'm her future husband.”
The killer obviously disbelieved him, as if he was just joking, and drew his dagger from behind him and
stabbed Steven straight! Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
The dagger was almost close to Steven's handsome face, and Steven was annoyed. In the gap
between the killer's strength, Steven spotted his flaw and swung a dozen blows from left to right in
succession, immediately knocking the killer into a daze, leaving his face covered with blood.
Viola gasped at the door and could feel how painful the killer must be. Even a well-built professional
killer's head and neck were the most vulnerable place, but it seemed that Steven did not exert all his
strength, otherwise the killer would have died by now.
