Chapter 934
At that moment, a subordinate hurried over. Seeing the mess on the floor, he carefully avoided the shards and approached Sebastian.
"Mr. Carter, Theodore has gone to the desert."
Sebastian rushed forward and grabbed his subordinate's arm. "Did he find her?"
His subordinate shook his head. "No, he didn't."
Sebastian had also sent his men to look for Rosalie, but they hadn't been able to track her down. Eventually, even her phone became unreachable.
So, he sent people to follow Theodore to see what his investigation would turn up.
At first, he didn't inform Theodore that Rosalie had already checked in to let him know she was safe. He wanted Theodore to find Rosalie, because if Rosalie was safe, then Theodore would be finished, since Rosalie only wanted some time alone.
If Theodore kept trying to reach her and searched for her everywhere, Rosalie would surely be even more annoyed with him. Then, Sebastian would step in and take her away.
Yet if something really had happened to Rosalie, then having Theodore on the search would provide more help, which wasn't a bad thing.
Whether Rosalie was safe or not, Sebastian would keep an eye on Theodore, ready to appear at the right moment. No matter what, he couldn't lose.
However, Sebastian didn't want anything bad to happen to Rosalie. He much preferred the first scenario-Rosalie being safe and merely wanting time alone, with Theodore only disturbing her peace.
But now, it seemed that something truly had happened to her.
His rage and hatred toward Theodore, mixed with his worry for Rosalie, all churned within him, like a furious beast roaring in his heart. It left him in constant unrest.
Suddenly, he heard the faint sound of a child crying. The sound was very soft, as it was coming from a distance.
"Why is the child crying?"
Sebastian strode over the broken glass and hurried out, spotting a servant holding Steve in the corner of the garden. She was trying to soothe Steve. "There, there, don't cry. Please don't cry. Please, I'm begging you. Stop crying."
"What's going on here?" Sebastian barked.
The servant was startled, "Mr. Carter..."
With his shout, Steve became even more frightened and cried louder.
Sebastian stormed over and
snatched Steve away from her. Angrily he said, "Get out of here! You can't even take care of a child-what use are you?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Carter. I'm sorry!" The servant quickly scurried away.
Sebastian held Steve close, soothing him gently.
"Steve, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Are you worried about Daddy? Are you angry with Theodore too?
"You really are my good son. We're two of a kind aren't we? Theodore hurt your mother and broke her heart, but have always been there for her stayed by her side, protecting her and trusting her unconditionally, even treating you like my own. And yet, your mother still has lingering feelings for him. I really can't accept that." Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
"Steve." Sebastian held him tightly in his arms. "I can't accept it. In what way am inferior to Theodore? He's just trask He's good to every woman-first Cynthia, then Aurora. Who knows, maybe there will be another woman in the future."
"Why doesn't your mother understand? Only I can make her happy and make her feel safe. But she just doesn't get it!"
Sebastian suddenly began to cry. His tears, mixed with the smell of alcohol, dropped onto Steve.
