Chapter 33
We’re Even.
Elina stare absent-minded at the window her elbow was place on it. She watch the guards move around the house. With their guns. Hidden in their pants.
Ray.
She had seen him and he knew it was her. The look in his eyes when he saw her. The longing, the guilt. He was hurting.
But he wasn’t hurt than she was. She was more hurt than he was, he certainly didn’t know how she felt.
The bastard!
She sniffed. She said she wasn’t gonna cry but the tears won’t stop coming.
She should stop thinking about him. They have another life now. This life, Ray wasn’t in it. It was just her. And the new people she had gone to see as her own family.
People who were all cast out.
She wipe the tears away, she wasn’t gonna cry anymore, it’s all over now. She moved away from the window. Maybe taking a walk would help. She stood up. Putting up her short. Though she couldn’t say it was hers, the smells from the shirt and shorts were obviously kenzo’s, she was wearing his shirt, how did Sambas got hold of it anyway. She sniffed the shirt as she slides its on.
“Kenzo, Kenzo, kenzo’s”
Besides she doesn’t have any dress, expect the one she wore that night. Should she ask him to buy her more dress.
She could give it a try.
Beside she was living here anyway, she didn’t come with anything, there should be clothes for her to wear.
She opened the door and walk out. Buka was the first person she saw. Holding a tray, probably he was going to serve the guards.
“Good morning Ms Elina.”
“Good morning Buka. Can I help?”
“I’m sure you don’t wanna spill the breakfast on someone else. Ms Elina.”
“Ehh. That was just a one time mistake. I’m very good with my job I’m sure Carol would be missing me now. And the little annoying daughter of her. Her birthday is tomorrow. I won’t be able to attend.”
“Carol?”
“You know Carol?”
“Carol Madeline. Owner of Carols?”
“Yes.” She clapped her hands.
“That’s my boss, I mean was my boss. The boss lady she is. I work for her. Best of all.”
“In causing troubles and always creating a scene. You’re Elina Brooke.”
“Oh my gawd. You know me.”
“Every one in the house does.”
“Oh.” She mouthed.
He plops the tray in her hands.
“And you should stop moving in the master T-shirts, Zara would kill you if you sees you in them. She didn’t have the privilege to wear them when she was there.”
“She was there, the witch?”
“Because, she bites.”
“Well, I bite more .” she smirked and turned to leave but stop.
“You literally change the subject. I was asking you how you knew carol.”
“One rule of the kitchen, their food mustn’t get cold now off you go.” he rushed back into the kitchen before she could say another word.
What was his relationship with carol, were they lovers?
She chuckled at the thought.
Buka sat down on the island in the kitchen. He brought out the locket in his neck. Which he usually hide inside his shirt. But was always on his neck.
He opened the locket.
It was a picture of him and Carol, they appear quite young, the incident was about 10 years ago,
He caress the picture.
“How are you doing, Carol? And our daughter. She’ll be thirteen tomorrow..” he clean his eyes.
He want to see them. He’s family, but he knew that was impossible. He could never get to see them. The master would never allow. He won’t never leave the mansion.
He sighed and fell back into reminiscence.
He opened his eyes.
There could be a way to attend the birthday party, there could he a way to see them.
Elina, she could help.
Through Elina he could get to see them.
“You only touched that if you missed him. You said you never did, you acted tough but you ain’t at all.” Carol sniffef and removing her hands from the locket, was he thinking about her or has he forgotten about her completely. He said he would come back so they could start the business together, but he didn’t, he didn’t come back, she couldn’t reach him. For months then years.
There was no news about him.
But she keeps believing, he was somewhere out there but isn’t dead.
He would come back when he deemed fit.
“You should get ready for school, Ellen.”
She stood up from the bed.
“I’m already prepared mom, I’m just here to say goodbye.”
“I need to get prepared, to go over to the shop. You can meet me there after school.”
“Did Elina leave for good?”
“Yeah she left. So don’t wait for her to pick you up from school.”
“Too bad, I won’t be able to prank her anymore. You were too harsh to her. That’s why she left.”
“Get out.”
“Fine I’m leaving.”
“Our daughter would be thirteen tomorrow.”
She mumbled.
“It would be just us again.”
“Here this is yours.”
“Thanks El.”
“I’m just doing my job.”
She held the empty tray and watch the guards eat their meal. Her stomach grumbles. She hadn’t eaten she had forgotten she was gonna eat.
“Have you seen sambas around?”
“He should be around here somewhere.”
“He left to see the master. Ariel came here to get him.”
“I thought he was still around.”
He was with the master. Was he been punished. She run out of their midst. Towards kenzo’s office. Or was he in his room.
If he hurt Sambas she smash him. Like she could actually do anything. But what did he do? Sambas isn’t the one to cause trouble or disobey an order.
Or maybe she could be wrong. Maybe he called him for assignment or something.
Either way, she wanted to see Kenzo in the first place, this was an opportunity too.
She went to the office. And peeped through the keyhole. There wasn’t anyone in there. She peeped more.
She couldn’t see anything. Maybe he wasn’t here but in his room. He was probably in his room or they were all there.
What could be going on there.
Secrets.
Devilish plot.
She hasten her footsteps running upstairs. Kenzo’s room she had never been there before though she usually perk at it anytime she was walking past there. She won’t never see anything. Cause it was all dark.
How can someone stay in her room so dark.
Well, it’s Kenzo he could stay, because he’s dark. As well.
Standing in front of the door. She peeped. She had been doing a lot of peeping today.
She couldn’t see anything cause it was dark in there.
She held the door knob. And turned it open.
It opened!Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
It wasn’t locked, she wasn’t expecting it to open but it did.
She took a step forward, putting a leg In here first. Before taking the other leg into the room.
It was dark, she could hardly see a thing. Adjusting her glasses. She stood there for a while, getting used to the darkness. Then she could see a little.
The window!
She hurried towards there and draw the drape open. Letting the morning ray into the room.
It was suffocating in there.
How could he stay in such a dark room. Is she scared of light.
Turning around and gawp at the room.
A wow escape her lips. It was big and beautiful, everything in here was gold. From the glass cup to the wallpaper.
Everything was mesmerizing. She run her hands over the wall feeling it. This was amazing.
How much does he worth?
Billions of billions of dollars.
This was heaven. She jumped on the bed. It pounced. So soft and smooth.
She twirled on the bed.
Wow.
He couldn’t make her room like this.
Talking about someone stingy bastard.
“Who the hell did this.” He pulls a hand over his face. Shielding himself from the ray.
That words got her jumping off the bed into the ground.
Kenzo was in.
“Elina?” That was the only person he could think off who would dare come into his room and fell off the bed like that. He palmed his forehead. Remembering he asked Aziel to Locked the door did he forgot.
“What are you doing here?”He asked. She jumped up her feet.
Seeing him midriff, got her jaw dropped. His white towel was wrapped around his waist. Though it was a little bit pass his waist.
Showing his perfectly curved V’ lines.
The water was dripping down to his golden broad chest, the packs of his. The muscles, the tattoo on his chest and on his neck. No wonder he always have gold around him. She picture herself running her hands down his bare body.
The his hair was wet. And fell to his face.
She blinked, getting the image off her head. But it seems to stuck in there.
He smirked seeing the look on her face. He totally got her this time.
She gulped and run out of the room.
What was she gonna say to his face, after she behaves like a coward in front of him.
“We’re even now ain’t we.”
She didn’t bother to look back though she heard him chuckled.
Even indeed.
