Chapter 45: Just by chance
After Cindy took Eric’s call, she couldn’t sleep anymore.
When she tried to look at the news again, she found that it had been pulled from the hot seat.
Cindy clicked on the photo of Linda falling and sitting on the toilet, zoomed in, and muttered, “Should have splashed a little more on her head.”
Regret.
It didn’t play well.
Cindy simply packed up and went out to look for a job.
After going to several design companies in a row, she was rejected.
“Sorry, Miss Scott, our company is no longer hiring.”
“Miss Scott, you have a great resume, but it’s not quite the same as our design philosophy, so please find another job.”
To put it bluntly, they are not too suspicious of her having been in jail, but also have a grudge against Eric, afraid of setting fire to the body.
Cindy, holding a cup of instant coffee, sat on a seat in the middle of the office building, watching the dense hot air float up, surrounded by the white-collar companies coming and going.
The tallest building in the distance was unbelievably beautiful, and on top of it were two big letters, Miller Group.
Cindy still remembers that when Eric bought the building for renovation, she was blocked from even stepping inside.
She foolishly left her lunchbox at the front desk and begged the employee to make sure the lunchbox was brought in for her.
But when she went around, she saw the lunchbox lying quietly in the trash.
She didn’t understand at that time that her desire to be good to Eric was more than unappreciated, he was completely disgusted and hated.
Why would he want to marry a woman he hated so much?
Cindy felt a little soreness in her eyes and lowered her head, wiping away the moisture that shouldn’t have been there.
“Hello, Miss Scott?”
Cindy looked up to see that it was a young, thin face.
He was quite tall, and Cindy was sure she hadn’t seen him before, but his voice sounded a little familiar.
“Excuse me, may I ask who you are?”
“Here’s my card, we spoke on the phone before.” His clean hand handed over a business card with black letters on a white background.
Randall Financial, Ryan the business manager.
“You ….”
Ryan’s silver-framed glasses glinted in the sunlight, “If Miss Scott needs it, I can introduce you to the manager of MON Design.”
“MON? That top company that specializes in sending talent to international runway shows!” Cindy was surprised and wary.
Ryan pushed down his glasses, “Yes, Ms. Scott, do you need any help getting in touch?”
“Why do you … want to help me?”
“Thirty million is not a small amount, and with your current situation, it should be difficult to pay it back on time.”
Cindy was dumbfounded; it made a bit of sense to her.
Ryan went to make a phone call, and when he came back, he gave Cindy an address, “It just so happens that their company has a recent program to train interns, so tomorrow morning, you can go report.”
“It’s that simple?”
She had been busy for a few days, but it was actually solved so simply?
Ryan nodded and told Cindy again to make sure to make the payment on time, “Our boss is very bad-tempered, Miss Scott must not run away from her debt.”
“Got it.”
Cindy watched Ryan leave, the suspicion in her eyes getting heavier and heavier, since the Scott family accident, she always has to be more careful when things happen.
No one will help you for no reason, this debt collection agency must have some kind of ulterior motive.
However, this is MON.
All people who study design dream of the temple.
Cindy gritted her teeth; she couldn’t give up this opportunity.
On the other hand, Eric just finished his work and got a call from Linda the first time he got off the plane. After hanging up three times, she cried and went to block him at Miller Group, saying that she wanted to attend her friend’s birthday party, but she had gained a lot of weight recently and had to buy new clothes.
Eric directly dumped her a black gold card with a five-million-dollar limit.
But Linda was not satisfied and still insisted that he accompany herself.
“Eric, does this look good?” Linda held her arm at the end and circled in front of the mirror.
The man sat on the couch, closed the financial magazine in his hand, raised his eyes, and hummed.
He had never thought Linda was pretty, at best she was a little beauty, and he was with her because of the pendant, and now, because of the baby in her belly.
His phone rang and he pressed the call button, “Hello?”
There was Ryan’s voice.
“Mr. Miller, things have been done, according to your request, Miss Cindy will enter MON early tomorrow morning as their intern, and, she herself has not become suspicious.”
Eric hung up the phone and leaned his body back on the couch.
Linda changed again and came out and saw Eric was a little tired. She was also not in the mood to shop, toeing the line and ordering the clerk, “Not this one, the rest, wrap it all up.”
She twisted her waist and was about to walk forward when she suddenly saw a man walk into the store.
It was a narrow path.
Cindy also saw Linda, and the man sitting on the couch opposite her.
She was thinking of going to work at MON and had to have an outfit that would stand out. So, she came to see if there was a suit that was simple in style, but classic and not out of fashion.
There should be a discount for that kind of clothes.
By chance, she met them so unluckily.
Cindy averted her eyes, ready to make a quick decision. She saw an outfit and pointed it down, “I want to try it on.”
Linda immediately grabbed the words, “Get me one, the exact same one!”
On the sofa, the man frowned, not saying a word.
It’s a coincidence that not only did they run into each other, but they both have the same eye for choosing clothes.
Cindy is tall and should look good in this one, but if Linda, who is pregnant, wears it, it will not be good enough.
After getting the clothes, Linda arrogantly went into the dressing room first.
Cindy was bumped but didn’t say anything and pulled open the outermost door.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
She was not pregnant and moved a little faster, and when she came out, Linda was still inside.
Eric inadvertently raised his eyes, his eyes could not be moved at that moment, and he had to admit that Cindy was one of the best, both in body and looks.
The sales clerk came forward and praised, “Miss, this dress is simply tailor-made for you.”
Cindy looked at the mirror and felt good too.
The whole time, she treated the man on the couch like air.
