Chapter 3 Have You Met Me Before?
Chapter 3 Have You Met Me Before?
Before Jane could speak, Jeffery left the room in a flash.
Watching his figure disappear, Jane's mind went blank again. Could someone tell her what was going
on?
It was strange that the president knew her name, and he also asked her to take responsibility. He
seemed to know her, but she had never seen him before!
She patted her head gently, gathered her emotions and went downstairs after putting on her clothes.
She didn't want to have dinner with the president. She always felt that there was something wrong with
him, but she couldn't resist. He was the president, and she needed this job. If she disappointed him she
will lose her job, it would be a big loss.
Outside the hotel, Jeffery stood beside a luxury car. As the sun began to set, his figure grew longer and
leaner. Jane's heart skipped a beat. She walked toward him.
In the restaurant, Jane was no longer calm as she looked at the table full of dishes. Finally, the
questions running through her mind, "Have you met me before?"
Otherwise, how could he possibly know her preferences?
It couldn't be a coincidence that the president shared the same taste as her.
Jeffery elegantly put the dishes into her bowl and said lightly, "Yes."
"Then why don't I remember you at all?"
"You may have a poor memory."
Cough*
Jane spat out a mouthful of rice and felt uncomfortable. She was only twenty-four years old, not in her
seventies or eighties. How could she have a poor memory? Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Moreover, just now she recalled the people she met from kindergarten to work, she didn't met Jeffery at
all.
No, it should be that she had never seen him before Jeffery even took office.
"Eat slowly, I will not take it away from you." Jeffery took a handkerchief in his hand and gracefully
helped her wipe the stain at the corner of her mouth. His voice was calm and easy. "It does not matter if
you can not remember now. I'll give you time to remember."
Without waiting for Jane to say anything, he continued, "I do not have time to take you shopping for
your daily necessities. Let the driver take you home first, and I will take you shopping at night."
Jane's mouth was full of food. She looked at him with a puzzled look, and her brain short-circuited
again. She thought he was just joking, but she had not expected him to really want to take her home.
After thinking for a moment, she put down her chopsticks and looked into his deep eyes with a serious
expression. "President ..."
"Call me Jeffery." Jeffery interrupted her before she could finish the sentence.
"Uhhh..."
All of a sudden, her cheeks turned red. "Jeffery... "
It seemed like a relationship between a couple.
Jane smiled and asked in a low voice, "Can I... can I refuse?"
She had not the courage to live in the president's house. There were many women in the company who
took notice of him and also dreamed of marrying him. If anyone saw her living in Jeffery's mansion,
they would skin her alive.
"No."
He drew a deep breath, his tone was firm, and there was no room for negotiation. Jane could not help
grieving in her heart, and then, with a tearful face, declared, "Well... yesterday was a misunderstanding.
I did not expect it to be you. You have not lost anything. Can we let it go?"
Jeffery raised his head and looked at her flushed cheeks. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly,
forming a faint curve, "You slept with me and you're responsible for it. You can't forget it."
Jane looked up at the sky and wanted to cry. She was so poor. What was she to take responsibility for?
Besides, it was not that she wanted to sleep with him. Obviously it was him...
After a long period of hesitation, she made her final struggle. "What will happen if I don't?"
