SPECIAL CHAPTER 2: CLAYTON’S POV
He was unable to contact Faith again for several days.
He was angry and he did not know to whom he would heap that anger. He couldn’t tell his brother, Red, what he and Faith had been arguing about. He didn’t want to include him in his problem, especially since his brother was still studying.
Faith didn’t even call or text him. Suddenly, he stood up in the middle of signing some office documents. Mrs. Dominguez who was surprised by the noise created by his sudden action looked at him.
“Please cancel all my appointments today, Mrs. Dominguez.” That’s all he said to the aged secretary then took his coat and put it on.
Without another word, he left the office. He was going to go to see Faith at her condo. He can’t be bothered anymore by thoughts of them so they have to sort things out about the two of them. If the only way for them to fix their relationship is to postpone the wedding first, he will agree. He didn’t want to lose Faith just because of his pride.
He hurried out of the car when he reached the condo building. He almost ran to the elevator to get to the woman’s floor immediately. He no longer called her because he wanted to surprise his fiancee.
He immediately opened her condo because he also had a key that Faith gave him. A woman who was cleaning inside was even surprised when he suddenly entered. Faith’s helper recognized him immediately.
“Is Faith around?” He immediately asked but went straight to Faith’s room.
Maybe she was inside her room.
“Eh, Sir, don’t you know? Ma’am left for London only yesterday.” Her fiance’s young maid was still scratching her head.
He quickly returned to his position and did not continue knocking on Faith’s door.
“Yesterday?” He asked in surprise to confirm what he had heard.
“Yes. She said she’ll be back for a long time, so a cousin of hers is also looking out for this condo.”
His eyebrows met immediately as he picked up the phone to call Faith. He could no longer contact her number. He thought about opening his social media account that he doesn’t open very much. He hoped to contact the woman there but even before he did that, he saw her posts at the airport only yesterday.
She didn’t even show up to him or try to talk to him before she left the country. He wanted to blame himself because he didn’t take immediate steps to fix their relationship before the woman flew to London.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
He tries to make a video call but Faith is not online. He could no longer say goodbye to the still stunned maid when he left the condo.
He wanted to follow her immediately to London so they could talk in person. He will also send a letter one by one to the guests at their wedding to let them know that the wedding will be postponed.
He no longer cares what news or reason enters people’s minds as to why their wedding was canceled. What matters to him is that Faith and he will get along well again. He was willing to wait a year for their marriage to take place.
He went straight to a friend who would take care of his needs so that he could fly to London even if only for a few days. He is also asked Mrs. Dominguez to reschedule all of his meetings and appointments for that month.
If only he can rely on Red to take care of their businesses while he’s away, he would have had no problem even if he stayed in London for a month.
He quickly took care of the requirements so that he could follow Faith immediately. He did not try to contact the woman again because he wanted to see if she would contact him. He hadn’t heard anything from her. Although hurt, he just left her alone first. Maybe she was also hurt and disappointed with him.
He also didn’t contact her because he wanted to surprise Faith. He knew where the woman was staying in London so he would go straight there as soon as he arrived in London.
It was the day of his flight to London.
If possible, he would fly to Faith’s place immediately. He drives his car because he will only let his driver get the car when he is already at the airport. Three more hours before his flight. If he had to stay in London for a few weeks to woo Faith then he would. He wouldn’t go home without fixing their relationship.
He was driving fast. A lot of things enter his brain. He would have wanted to convince Faith to get married in London even a civil wedding if that was possible. He was afraid that after a year she would change her mind again.
Because his mind was busy with Faith, he did not notice the vehicle in front of him. It was too late for him to avoid the car. That was the last thing he remembered before he closed his eyes.
When he woke up he was already inside the hospital. The first person he saw was his brother, Red. Red’s worried face immediately cleared when he woke up.
“Clayton!” He immediately approached him.
“W-what happened?” Even though it was still difficult to speak, he asked Red. What had happened did not immediately come to his mind.
“I’ll call the doctor first, Brother.” Red immediately went out to call the doctor.
When he entered, a doctor was with him. He couldn’t talk to Red right away because the doctor examined him again and he had a lot of questions. His brother was silent to one side.
“Faith!” He suddenly remembered his fiancee.
“Is she going to visit me?” He immediately asked his brother.
He saw the concern on his face again and then asked the doctor.
“It’s okay. He can sleep right away. You can talk to him later when his condition is really stable.” He heard the doctor’s answer.
He was about to speak but he could feel his eyelids getting heavier again. He didn’t want them to shut down again but he can’t open his eyes anymore.
“Is everything okay, Doc?” He even heard Red’s question before he finally fell asleep.
He did not know how many hours he slept again but when he woke up, it was Red who was sleeping in the chair. He wanted to wake his brother to ask him but he just let him sleep.
Then gradually he remembered everything that had happened, the accident that nearly killed him.
And Faith … she’s in London.
Does his girlfriend already know what happened to him? Will she go home when she finds out about the accident?
