Chapter 202
Frederick stepped hard on the gas pedal all the way back to Landrum Garden.
He put Alicia on the bed before turning around. He took out the first aid kid and soaked a towel in warm water. When he returned to the bed, she was in the same posture as in the detention room. Her arms were wrapped around herself, curled up like a hedgehog. When he brushed away her hair, a pair of bloodshot eyes glared at him.
This was the first time he felt such fierceness on a woman. It was like a sharp sword, ruthlessness seeping from her bones. His heart shuddered and his hand stopped mid-air.
"Don't be afraid, I just... wanted to wipe your face!"
With that, his movements grew slower in fear of scaring her. He moved closer, slowly and tentatively, and gently wiped her dirty face. What he saw after was a swollen face with bruises by her lips. At that moment, his hand behind her head clenched into a fist, the veins protruding.
As he helped to comb her hair, he realized that she had been in this position ever since he saw her. She was either silently curled up with her eyes staring into space or fiercely glaring like just a while ago.
He felt that something was wrong with her. Slowly, he touched her cheek. "Ally, look at me, do you recognize me? Would you talk to me, please?"
As soon as he spoke, she shook her head away from his grip and went back to curling up, her eyes dazed. Not knowing what she was thinking about, he saw her holding her knees even tighter. His jacket was almost covering her entire body!
She wasn't scared silly, was she?
Anxiety suddenly poured into his heart.
Before he said anything, he saw her foot from the corner of his eye. The stockings were torn, still clinging onto her. He turned around to get a change of clothes and brought the first aid kit with him.
However, as he touched the jacket, she glared at him fiercely again, her pursed lips making deep hissing noises. At the same time, her hands also clutched the jacket tightly.
Only then did he feel there was something really wrong with her. As long as he did not go near her, she would be quiet as if she was not even there. But, whenever he went closer, no matter what he did, her reaction would be like a hurt animal that saw its enemy. She was tensed and ready to fight in an instant. The look in her eyes was unfocused but her reaction was as if some kind of reflex!
Could it be that she wasn't scared? Was it because she had experienced too many incidents like this? Was it a protective instinct?
Frederick was taken aback by the sudden realization.
That's right. If an ordinary woman was in a situation like this, wouldn't she have already been crying her eyes out? Why was Alicia so calm? That shocking situation even scared him but why was she...
Sitting down, he held her tightly in his arms. "Ally?" Stroking her hair, he did not try to pull the jacket away from her this time. Instead, he spoke slowly, trying to bring her back from her daze.
"We're home! Your clothes are dirty and need to be changed... Don't be afraid! I'll change it for you and clean up the wound, okay? I'll be gentle and won't hurt you..."
Every time he said something, he observed her reaction and felt her out. Eventually, he slowly removed the jacket from her, helped her take off her, clothes and put on her pajamas.
Looking at her pale skin, he found them to be full of bruises. Some wounds seemed to be caused by whipping with a belt. There were bloody wounds, the red almost drying up. He remembered the
man on top of her when he reached the detention room. That man had a belt in his hands. A large storm instantly built up in Frederick's dark eyes.
That beast!
Moving cautiously, Frederick was fuming and on the verge of exploding with rage.
After dampening the towel, he took up her arm and slowly wiped the blood away while applying medication to the wounds. He put some bandages on the larger wounds, worrying that they would hurt at any friction. Since he started, other than occasional groans, she never complained about the pain or let any tears fall.
He got up after helping her clean up. He was about to get a change of towel when he heard a faint voice behind him. "Give it to me!" "What?"
He sat on the bed in excitement. "Ally?"
Slowly raising her eyes, Alicia spoke very seriously, "The divorce agreement! Give it to me!"
He never thought that this would be what she said when she finally opened her mouth. He was in glee but his heart had also clenched. Unknowingly, he pursed his lips tightly.
The next second, her voice raised higher. "The divorce agreement! Give it to me! I want a divorce! Divorce! Give it to me!"
Grabbing onto his shirt, Alicia went hysterical. He really let her escort a client and he was even an awful pervert who could not comprehend human language!
The pain in her body helped her regain consciousness but she was so agitated that she could not control herself.
"Frederick Clements, you're a b*stard! A beast! An animal! A pervert! Even if you hate me and don't treat me as a human, at least we were together before. Didn't I help you take care of your grandma? I might have done nothing good for you but didn't I give my best efforts? You disregarded our relationship and let me be trampled all over by an ugly b*stard? Ha, you're really vicious, you're coldblooded! I hate you! I hate you to death! Aren't you a clean freak? Don't you find me filthy? The divorce agreement, give me the divorce agreement!"
Pulling at him, Alicia was like a wild cat having a fit, scratching and hitting him. It seemed as though the weak thread holding her together had snapped, and she was shaking and crying.
"Give it to me—"
For a long time, she did not get any reaction or reply from him. She was angry and anxious but she could not do anything to his unmoving figure. Not before long, she sat limply on the bed, her energy depleted. Tears were all over her face.
Frederick pulled her into his arms. "I'm sorry!"
This time, it was his fault!
"I don't want an apology, what's the use of an apology? I hate these words the most! I want the divorce agreement!"
Tugging at his clothes, she became riled up again.
The pain on her body had not meant anything to her. However, everything that happened the night before was like a scar deep down in her heart. She faced every moment with bravado and a dying determination; she almost thought that it was all over for her!
This was not the first time she had been in a situation like this. They were the deepest, darkest nightmares hidden at the bottom of her heart. Every single time she encountered this was like a
walk through hell for her!
She did not think that this would happen again after three years...Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
