Chapter Four
Four
Cassy tried to stop herself from crying as the carriage rode to the palace. She only had herself now till she was able to bring Jasmine in.
The carriage stopped and Cassy got down to meet two women, standing. She knew they were waiting for her.
“My lady.” The both of them greeted curtseying.
“Good day.” Cassy replied.
“We are taking you to your room so you can rest for the Alpha is attending a meeting with the elders.” The older woman spoke and Cassy nodded.
As they walked through the hallways, Cassy fed her eyes with the beautiful palace. The columns were gold and almost every wall had beautiful drawings.
She had always been here at night so she could not always see properly.
They walked for a while till they arrived in front of a bronze door. The older woman pushed the door and entered with Cassy following behind closely.
Cassy marveled at the sight of the room. She has always thought her room at the mansion was big but this one was even bigger.
It had a large four poster bed in the middle of it with a couch close to the window. It had a dressing table, a table with two chairs at the other end of the room.
She went through another door and came to a balcony which also had a place to sit.
“Wow.” The word escaped from her lip as she faced one of the most beautiful places she had ever seen. It was a vast field with flowers and butterflies hovering around it, it also had a tree which had a swing under it.
“My Lady, do let me know if you don’t like it. I’ll have them arrange another–”
“I love it! Its perfect!” Cassy didn’t know when she pulled the woman into a hug.
Cassy was quick to realize her actions and separated from the hug quickly.
“I’m sorry ma. I was just overwhelmed.” she apologized and the woman smiled.
She had never seen someone as humble as the lady. “The name is Daryl,” she introduced.
“Cassy,” she smiled and glanced at the young lady who has been quiet since she met them. “And you’re?”
“Emma.” The lady grumbled making Cassy’s smile falter. It was obvious she didn’t like her.
“We would leave first, my lady.” They both bowed before leaving.
Cassy plopped on the soft bed, facing upwards. She was happy, her life had changed in just a few hours.
She stood up and went into the field and sat on the swing, letting it swing slowly. She sucked in a deep breath, allowing the fragrance and freshness of the air flow into her lungs.
Freedom.
She was finally free at last from the shackles of her step mother, she couldn’t be more happier.
Cassy had no more worries except for how she was going to start a new life here. She worried about how she was going to live with him, especially now that he had took her in.
“What troubles you?” She heard a voice from behind her and since pleasant smell swirled over her. She needed no soothsayer to tell her who it was.
She only nodded her head.
Kai had been standing there watching every of her move. She looked like a burden was removed from her shoulder but she still had that sad look on her face.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts. He was not supposed to think about that.
“Come, I’ll show you around the palace.” He walked away without even waiting for her reply.
Cassy sighed and got down from the swing, taking long strides to meet him.
“This is the servants quarters and this –” he was interrupted by Cassy.
“Where is the library?” She cut in, looking straight into his eyes.
Kai was fazed by her action. Everyone, especially omegas, were scared of the alpha. They couldn’t even stand close to him without trembling.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
But the little kitty in front of him was looking into his eyes without even batting an eyelid.
Little kitty? Did he just give her a nickname?
Indeed, she had beautiful brown eyes with long eyelashes that made her eyes look like that of a cat’s.
“Your majesty?” Her small voice called, bringing him out of his thought.
“At the end of the east wing,” He replied, taking his eyes off her and looking ahead. “That’s the infirmary and at the end is the warrior’s camp.”
Cassy nodded, storing his words in her head. She needed to know her way around the large palace before she missed her way.
“Your Majesty.” Everyone greeted them as they walked into the infirmary.
“This is the Theta, Corinna,” he pointed at the lady with brown hair.” and that is her assistant, Isabella.”
Cassy saw his eyes twinkle as he mentioned her name but she shook it off. She didn’t want to entertain the thought of her mate with another lady.
What was she even thinking? He doesn’t acknowledge her as his mate, there was no use thinking like that.
“My mate, Cassy.” He finally introduced her.
Cassy noticed the way iotas threw her a pitiful look but she didn’t care. She felt eyes boring into her skin and she looked up to find the Theta’s assistant throwing daggers at her.
If only looks could kill.
