Chapter 123
Chapter 123
Angela’s POV
A gentle knock resounded in my room right before Lcould lie down on my bed. I hadn’t even taken in the thoughts of being back in the Alpha’s mansion or the news of my pregnancy. The room had been redecorated to my taste, thanks to Darius, I guess. I loved what they did with the painting and the curtains. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
The knock came again and I almost cursed under my breath. It wasn’t Darius at the other end of the door Because of my wolf’s reappearance, my sense of smell was having a kick or maybe it was because of the pregnancy.
I opened the door and put a fake smile on my face instead of a frown.
“Hello Velicia,”
She cocked her eyebrows. That’s fake, Angela, drop it
I didn’t drop it. In fact, I added more depth to the fakeness.
“You don’t know me that well for you to decide if this is fake or real,”
Trust me, I’m the one looking at your face right now. If you see yourself in a mirror, you’ll know that’s fake,
I dropped the act and folded my hand against my chest,
“Can we talk?” she asked before I could ask her what she wanted.
“I’m a little busy right now,” 1 lied through gritted teeth.
“I won’t take much of your time, I promise,”

I took a deep breath and opened the door for her to come in. She walked into the room and took a seat on the couch. I took a seat on the stool.
“I didn’t mean to lie to you about knowing Darius,”
“Wow, straight to the point,
“Yes. I’ll be leaving soon and I don’t want any disparity between Darius past and his present”
I laughed. Darius‘ past and present. Tim both his past and his present, I reminded her.
“I know! I’m not really his past. I was just an in–between. I was collateral damage for my father’s stupidity, but I was glad that I was forcefully married to Darius and not someone else. He’s my friend and he’s always been. I didn’t tell you I knew him because I didn’t want to plant any seed of doubt in you. I thought it would be foolish of me to disclose that and someone will find out in case the room was bugged and we’ll both be in danger,”
“You planted that seed of doubt even before I knew who you were. The moment I saw you with Zack that night, I had my doubts about you,” “I know. Zack called me out that night to ask why I interrupted him. He’s kind of like a big deal in Ryker’s kingdom. He called me out and threatened me. I had to defend myself and make excuses as to why I lied about Ryker’s calling for you. He later found out the truth somehow,”
I took a deep breath. I didn’t know if I should believe her but her words sounded convincing enough.
“You don’t have to hate me. Angela, 1 know what I did was stupid 1 just hope you can let go of the past,”
“I don’t hate you,” I replied honestly.
“I’m glad to know that,”
I shrugged. It wasn’t that hard telling her the truth. I couldn’t possibly hate someone who saved my life. I just didn’t trust her enough to get close to her.
THE
She stood up, ready to leave the house. “Darius told me you want Zack dead,
I nodded. “Something like that,”
“You aren’t the only one, Angela. A lot of us want him dead but the only way to get rid of him is to get him out of Ryker’s kingdom. He’s too wrapped under his protection to be touched,
That was ridiculous. Why would someone as devilish as that be left in a place where there are several other victims?
“When I have any news, you’ll be the first to know, Angela. I promise,
“Thank you
I whispered right before she opened the door and left the room.
Since I couldn’t sleep anymore, I also left the room to check up on Reina. I found Darius in her room, he was holding her drawing book with confusion written on his face.
Reina looked up once I walked in and I could see the tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong Rabes?” Darius walked up to me before I could get to them.
“She knows,” he whispered.
“Know what?”
“That you’re pregnant and apparently, you’re having twins,”
“What? What? How!
He gave me Reina’s drawing book. My hand unconsciously came to my mouth as I stopped the loud gasp that would’ve echoed in the room, “She saw it,”
“She did and now she thinks we’re trying to get rid of her,
“Get rid of her! Why would she think such a thing?”
“It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later. We should talk to her first,” he suggested
I agreed.
“Hey, babes
“Mama,” she cried. I hugged her tightly.
Tim sorry I didn’t tell you about the babies. I just found out today too,
She nodded, “okay mama. Will you send me away?”
“Never! You’re my baby and you’ll stay with me for a long time. I love you just as much as I love the babies too. We’re going to have a lot of fun “Sammy said her mama left because she had babies.”
Sammy was one of her numerous friends from school
“No one is leaving anyone. Not me, not your mamma, not the babies, not you, my princess, Darius answered and kissed her hair.
“We’ll s
stay together for a long time. A very long time until you’re ready to leave,”
“Okay, Daddy,”
“That’s my baby girl,”
Darius kissed her temple and kissed me as well. His phone suddenly started ringing and be moved away from the bed to pick up the call. “Azalea, what’s going on!”
Azalea said something that made Darius frown.
“Okay. Connect me to the call,”
He pressed a button on his phone and for a few seconds, Darius silently listened to the person on the other end of the line.
“I don’t know who the fuck you are to think you can call me and threaten me to release my father to you. I have just one thing to say to you, he’s
dead. Look elsewhere. Do whatever the hell you want to do, I don’t give two shits about that. Your threats won’t resurrect him either,”
He got my attention fully at the mention of his father.
I walked up to him and held his hand. “What’s wrong?” I mouthed. He dropped the call and stared at the phone.
“What’s going on?”
“The caller said he was my uncle, my father’s stepbrother or bullshit.”
“Your father had a stepbrother,
He shrugged. “I never knew about that. I thought he was an only child,”
“What does he want?”
“My father. He wants me to release my father and bring him to
“How does he know he’s alive?”
him,”
He stared at me. “There’s only one way he could’ve found out. My father has been communicating with the outside world,”
