Chapter 455: Isn't the Baby Mr. Smith's?
Chapter 455: Isn't the Baby Mr. Smith's?
Lily thinks,
'I get to have the dinner just because Willow wants to thank Louis.'
Willow's mother-in-law is preparing dinner when seeing Willow bringing guests back, and she greets
them warmly.
She's a native, and she stays in City L most times. Therefore, her Mandarin is not good.
Willow's mother-in-law and husband are dealing with the hares. And Willow is chatting with Lily and
Louis, telling them where is worth going and what delicious food they should try.
Lily and Willow have a lot to talk about.
Lily asks Willow, "I smell perfume from you. Do you like wearing perfume?"
"I like perfume. I bought some famous brands," Willow says, "However, my husband likes this one, so I
barely use the others."
Lily takes out a sample from her bag and sprays it on Willow's wrist.
"Try this one."
Willow rubs her ear with her wrist and sniffs it, saying in surprise, "It smells good. What brand is it?"
"It's a new product of our company, which is not on the market. We come here to shoot a promotional
video for it." Lily smiles and hands her the perfume, "This is yours since you like it."
"Thank you. It smells good." Willow takes the perfume and says, "It will sell well! When it comes on the
market, I will promote it for you."
"Alright, thank you." Lily smiles and nods.
She picks up the black tea and takes a few sips. Seeing that Louis is using his phone to work, she
thinks, 'He's busy. I should have made an excuse not to go out, so that he can go back to his room and
work.'
Soon, dinner is ready.
Looking at the large bowl of stewed hare meat, Lily doesn't dare to eat it at first.
After eating a piece and finding that the cooking skill of Willow's mother-in-law is excellent, she eats
more.
Having eaten two bowls of rice, Lily wants more.
Louis stops her and his face darkens, "You've eaten two bowls of rice. Aren't you stuffed?"
"I'm not stuffed. I can eat more."
Louis is afraid that it's not good for her health, but he doesn't want to show his concern about her. So,
he says, "The shooting is tomorrow. People look fat before the camera. If you continue to eat, you may
look much fatter."
Louis succeeds.
Lily looks at the half pot of stewed hare meat, turning her eyes away and putting down the bowl, "I'm
full."
Willow is overjoyed, "Mr. Smith, you care about Ms. Lily! Why did you break up? You should try to get
back together."
Louis keeps a poker face as he replies in a casual tone, "I don' want her to delay the shooting."
Lily lowers her head, putting slices of apple into his mouth.
After dinner, Louis says that he's not accustomed to wearing the slippers provided by the homestay
family. And he goes shopping for the slippers.
Willow and Lily are walking and chatting around the homestay family. Then, Willow gives Lily the
'Sleeping Flower', which is peculiar to City L, telling her to put it on the bedside table to help her sleep.
Kicked twice by the babies, Lily frowns.
"What's wrong?" Willow asks her.
They happen to be standing under a street lamp. Lily takes away her hand from her belly soon.
However, Willow still notices Lily's baby bump.
Then, Willow Looks at Lily's face and seems to have guessed something. She widens her eyes, saying,
"You...."
"Nothing. I ate too much." Lily smiles with embarrassment.
"Do you get kicked for eating too much? Did the baby kick you, right?"
Willow doesn't buy it. She suddenly realizes something, "No wonder you asked me how many months I
was pregnant in the car. It turns out that you are pregnant, too."
Lily nods when seeing that she can't hide it from Willow, "I'm pregnant. Please mum's the word. I'm
afraid that once they know that I'm pregnant, they'll be too careful and delay the shooting."
Willow is curious, "I can't tell Mr. Smith, either? Isn't the baby his?"
Lily doesn't answer.
After imagining a lot, Willow whispers to Lily, "Is the baby somebody else's? And you don't tell Mr.
Smith because you want to get back with him?"
Lily is tongue-tied.
Afraid that Willow will spill the beans, Lily doesn't correct her, "It's not his. And I don't want to get back
with him. I will raise the child myself."
"Mr. Smith cares about you," Willow whispers. Then, she asks, "Why did you break up with the father of
the child? Going through a rough patch?"
"Kind of."
"Tell me about his background. Why didn't you tell him about the child?"
Lily feels helpless, saying, "He's great. I didn't tell him because I don't want him to take the baby away
from me."
Willow understands.
Afraid that Willow will ask her more questions, Lily says that she's sleepy and hurries Willow into going
back. She also tells Willow over and over again to keep the secret.
Going upstairs, Lily sees that there is no light in Louis’ room, 'It seems that he hasn't come back.'
She looks at the time on her phone. It's past ten o'clock.
'There are supermarkets around the homestay family. Does he go downtown for a pair of slippers?'
Lily opens the door and enters the room, thinking, 'This man is picky. The slippers provided by the
homestay family are fine. Does he have to go out to buy slippers at night?'
...
When Lily goes to the restaurant for breakfast at 8 a.m., she runs into Director Jarvis and some other
people.
Director Jarvis tells Lilly that he has borrowed two vans from the homestay family to store the shooting
equipment and that they'll go to the shooting site at nine o'clock.
Lily replies. Just as she is about to send a WeChat message to Louis, she hears someone calling "Mr.
Smith". Looking up, Lily finds that Louis is also at the restaurant.
The man is dressed in grey casual wear, his legs long and straight and his temperament excellent.
However, the dark circles under his eyes show that he didn't sleep well.
Lily thinks, 'Did he stay up late last night?'
When Louis comes over and sits down for breakfast, Lily says, "Director Jarvis borrowed two vans from
Willow. We'll go to the shooting site together at nine o'clock."
"Okay."
Looking at Louis, Lily can't help but ask, "Did you work late last night? You don't look well. How about
telling Director Jarvis that we'll go there in the afternoon?"
"No need." Louis refuses, "I'm fine. I'll be able to get some rest if we finish early." Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Lily doesn't say anything.
Shortly after, the waiter places Louis’ beef noodles on the table.
Lily hands the sauce to Louis. When Louis stretches out his hand, Lily notices that there are several
cuts on it.
She hesitates for a while, and she doesn't say anything. After breakfast, she goes upstairs to change
her clothes.
A cleaner is going out of Lily's room, pushing a cart.
"Ms. Lily," The cleaner says, "The thing is on your bedside table."
Lily thinks that it may be fruit, so she thanks the cleaner.
She enters her bedroom, seeing a small box rather than fruit on the bedside table.
She picks it up and opens it.
There is a pair of small daisy earrings embedded in the velvet. It seems to be the one that she took a
fancy to in the shop but was sold to the couple at a higher price last night.
With a closer look, Lily finds that the little daisies are not delicate enough and their petals are crooked.
'It seems to be made by a beginner, not the one in the shop yesterday.'
