Chapter 435: Louis, Are You Concerned About Lily?
As she opens the document, the first thing she sees is the words 'QY Plan'.
Her pupils widens as she finds out about the secret. She reads on, holding the documents tightly in her
hands.
Heavens!
The Smith Group has actually got this project!
After reading it, Sofia closes the document and puts it back, looking unperturbed on the outside but
greatly shocked on the inside.
Before then, she thinks things are easy until Louis sees it through. She comes to know that this man is
difficult to deal with. Now that she has seen this document, she realizes it's very complicated.
But....
Sofia looks at the 'R' on the document and beams. Her eyes are bright and sharp.
She likes challenges.
She likes dealing with men who are hard to take down.
"Sofia, have you found it?" David comes over and asks her. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Not yet. There are too many," Sofia says helplessly.
She continues searching and finds it on the top shelf. "I see it. There it is. Help me get it please."
"Where?" David leans over and takes the document she is pointing at.
Just as he hands it to Sofia, she suddenly puts her hand around his neck and kisses him.
David is flustered and doesn't know where to put his hands. He is overwhelmed.
Gradually, he puts his hands on her waist, kissing her back.
The kiss continues for a long time.
Sofia's eyes are misty. She looks at David and laughs, "You haven't changed a bit. You still like to zone
out, just like when you were in school."
David is a little awkward with his face a little flushed, "We've found the document. Let's go then."
"Well, how about some Japanese food today?" Sofia walks out with him, "By the way, I'm so lucky to
have you. Looking for a document here is so convenient with your help. If it's not you, I'll need to
register and there will be a time limit. I'll have to leave when the time is up."
David says, "They are just taking precautions in case their confidential documents are leaked. It's for
the sake of the Smith Group. Next time you need to find something, just ask me."
Sofia nods, "It's been a long time since I had a meal cooked by your mom. I miss that."
"Then come to my house for dinner this weekend!" David invites her, sounding a little nervous.
"Will it be inconvenient for your mother?"
"No, not at all. My mother would be very pleased if you come."
Sofia purses her red lips and beams, "Alright, then."
...
The Smith Mansion is a little far. Lily wants to save the trouble so she takes Chandler to where Louis
lives. If he hasn't come back yet, she will wait for him outside the door.
After arriving at the villa, Lily notices that the light is on, indicating that he is back.
She comes to the door with Chandler and rings the doorbell.
The door is soon opened.
The man answering the door is still wearing a white shirt. Apparently, he has just come home. He
seems surprised to see her, "Lily?"
"Hi, Louis." He is interrupted by a childish voice.
Louis looks down and sees Chandler is also here.
The little fellow waves at him with a smile on his face.
"Stella is abroad and has asked me to take care of Chandler. But he wishes to live with you instead of
me," Lily said, placing her hand on Chandler's shoulder.
Louis is at a loss for words.
Earlier that afternoon, he has sent a message to Chandler asking where he wants to stay and he says
he wants to stay with Lily. And now here they are.
A little child as he is, he changes his mind faster than the weather.
Seeing that Louis remains silent, Lily reckons it's a rejection so she is ready to leave.
"Mr. Smith, forget it if it's not convenient."
"I live alone. There's nothing inconvenient for me." Louis says as he takes the suitcase from Chandler's
hand, "It just means one more takeout to order. He can stay here."
Just now, he has thought that Lily is coming for the tofu buns again.
"You...." Lily frowns, trying to say that he shouldn't order too much takeout and home cooking is better.
But she knows it is way out of her depth. She just gives Chandler to him, "Thank you then."
"It's my duty to take care of my nephew," Louis says flatly.
Lily supposes so.
Standing at the door, neither of them speaks again.
Chandler's glaze jumps from Lily to Louis, knowing something is wrong. So he doesn't speak as well.
After a while, Lily breaks the ice, "I'll leave now."
"Alright," Louis nods.
There is no heavy rain tonight, and she isn't a spoiled lady who sheds tears easily.
After a pause, he asks, "Have you finished all the oranges?"
"No, there are still quite a few left."
"Tell me when you need more. I'll have more fresh ones sent to your apartment."
"Thank you, Mr. Smith. You don't have to." Lily refuses. If he wants to cut ties with her, she should no
longer take what he offers. "I've had enough of oranges. I want to try some other fruits."
Her indifferent attitude upsets Louis.
Lily moves her eyes away from him and reaches out to caress Chandler's head. "Listen to your uncle
Louis and be a good boy."
Chandler nods and waves at her, "Be careful on your way."
"I will."
Louis watches as Lily walks down the stairs to her car. He is somehow irritated.
After her car is out of sight, he grabs Chandler's suitcase and brings him into the house. "There are
many rooms. Go pick the one you want to live in."
Something occurs to him and he adds, "Except for the guest room opposite my bedroom."
"Why?" Chandler asks curiously, "What if I insist on that one?"
Louis glances at him and points at the big dog kennel in the corner. "Then I'll have to drive you
downstairs to live with my dog Rich," he said bluntly.
Chandler pouts and protests, "Louis, you're so heartless. I'm your nephew!"
"You are still not my next of kin," Louis snorts and walks towards the kitchen, "Have you had dinner? I
have cooked some tofu buns."
Chandler jumps onto the sofa, picks up the remote control of the TV, and replies, "I just had some
burgers with Lily. But I can still have some buns, please."
Louis frowns, "Burgers are not healthy. Don't eat too much of them."
"Louis, you have to tell that to Lily yourself." Chandler turns to look at him and sighs, "Lily bought quite
a lot of burgers, worried that I wouldn't be able to finish them all. But she herself has eaten three of
them!"
The little fellow says in an exaggerated tone, "They are not ordinary burgers, but triple spicy beef
burgers!"
Greatly shocked, Louis can't help but ask, "She ate that much? Wasn't she stuffed?"
