The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Nathaniel glared at her, and Freya held her breath.

Not only was she afraid that she would be doomed by slapping him, she was terrified that he would attempt to kiss her.

The atmosphere between them became heavy; Freya was horrified, and she was breathing heavily.

Suddenly, Freya's phone rang, breaking the silence between them.

Nathaniel let go of her hand, and he pushed her away in disgust.

She hurriedly turned around and fled toward the door, but he stopped her.

"Did I allow you to go?" He snorted.

She muttered, "Mr. Morgan, I'll pick up the phone call outside to avoid disturbing you here."

"Answer it here!" He was inexplicably irritated and annoyed with his desire, and he might be exploding anytime soon.

She did not dare to move her feet; she knew the consequences of disobeying him.

She fumbled her phone out and saw an unfamiliar number.

Her call logs only had three numbers, which were Peyton's, her landlord's, and the doctor in charge of her mother.

She looked at the grumpy Nathaniel, and she answered the call.

A nice man's voice sounded, and it sounded like he was smiling.

"Freya, it's me!" Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Freya's hand trembled upon hearing his voice.

The background sounded noisy, so he had to speak loudly. Usually, the people around her could not hear who was on the phone.

But the private room was in total silence now; Nathaniel could clearly hear his laughter over the other end of the phone.

She subconsciously hung up the phone.

She did not know where Jacob got her phone number, but she knew that it was not a smart move to answer it in front of Nathaniel.

Freya did not know what to say to Jacob.

He sat there and played with the lighter that was on top of the table. His face darkened.

Her phone rang again, but she did not pick it up.

But he persistently called her, and it seemed like he would not stop until she picked up the call.

"Answer it!" Nathaniel frowned.

She forced herself to pick up the phone.

"Put it on speaker!" Nathaniel was giving her orders.

Freya was sweating cold sweat, and she put it on speaker.

Nathaniel chuckled and said pitifully, "Freya, why are you doing this to me?"

"I know you dislike me, but not to the extent of not picking up my call, right?"

"Don't be angry with me; I found your phone number from your hospital record."

"I'm in Hidalgo now for a business meeting." He was very talkative, even though she remained silent.

"Freya, there's good news for you. I managed to contact the most experienced plastic surgeon in Hidalgo for you; he can help you with the scars on your face."

"Oh right, I've also found a doctor for your hand."

Jacob's words triggered Nathaniel; he abruptly stood up and walked toward Freya.

She was intimidated by his height.

He snatched the phone from her hand; Jacob was still promising Freya all sorts of things.

He threw the phone on the ground, and Jacob's voice finally stopped. He stepped on the phone hard; the phone was scattered.

Freya's heart was hurting seeing her phone spoiled; Payton bought this phone for her. It was not very expensive, but one thousand dollars was still money.

And, one thousand dollars was a great amount to her at the moment.

She squatted down and wanted to pick up her phone; she hoped that it was still functional, or maybe she could bring it in for repair.

Her wrist was grabbed forcefully by him, and he picked her up as if she weighed nothing.

"Freya, you're such a b*tch!" He gritted his teeth and glared at her.

He vented his anger by using vicious words.

"After three years, I really underestimated your shamefulness!

"When did you hook up with Jacob?"

"He's a playboy; how can he possibly be interested in an ugly woman like you?"

"Did you sleep with him?"

She abruptly raised her head and looked at him; she had never seen him like this.

When they were passionately in love, she saw his gentleness, his maturity, and his responsibility.

But she had never seen him use absence words like now.

Nathaniel also realized that he was not supposed to blurt out such words, so he kept his mouth shut.

Few men were talking from the outside.

"Mr. Morgan, are you inside this room?"

"Are you free now?"

"We would like to buy you a drink!"

Koen smiled and replied to them, "Sorry, Mr. James and Mr. Lucas; Mr. Morgan is occupied at the moment."

"Oh, sorry to bother!"

Recently, Nathaniel managed to take down the artificial intelligence project in East Savage. The initial investment in a project was hundreds of billions of dollars. So, all the companies from Saigon wanted to gain some benefits from it too.

They would be content to get just a small portion of the project.

But Nathaniel was not an ordinary man; he barely agreed to meet up with strangers. They had been waiting in the Red Shift for several days, and they knew that Nathaniel must be here with Koan standing by the door.

They did not want to lose such a great opportunity; many people could not even find out Nathaniel's whereabouts.

Koen rejected them on Nathaniel's behalf, but Nathaniel suddenly said from inside, "Let them have it!"

Koen was dumbfounded, but he still opened the door and let them in.

They were overjoyed, and they quickly ordered the best wine from the waiter. They also ordered for the bar girls to join them.

Suddenly, the atmosphere of the private room became weird and lively.

Freya was dumped in the corner of the room; she did not dare to leave the room.

The two of them glanced at Freya, and they were shocked to see her here.

Isn't this Killian's daughter? The Gomez family used to be powerful in Saeville, and all of us attended her eighteenth birthday party back then.

She was pampered like a princess back then; they did not expect to see her standing timidly to the side with her face disfigured.

The two of them were smart and sensible; they totally ignored Freya. They raised their wine glasses, wanting to please Nathaniel, who was sitting on the sofa.

"Mr. Morgan, this wine is for you. You're the VIP while we're just ordinary individuals; we're sorry if we offended you!"

"I'll toast this glass to you!"

"Mr. Morgan, let's drink!"

Nathaniel was holding on to his wine glass, and two pretty ladies were sitting at his sides to refill his wine.

Nathaniel glanced at the bar girl who almost put her entire body weight on him; her name was Leyla. She was the best-loved bar girl in the Red Shift.

She was so nervous at the beginning; she thought he would reject her. She grinned happily now.

"Mr. Morgan, please eat some fruit!"

She picked up the grapes from the fruit plate with a toothpick, and she sat really close to him to feed him the grape.

It was rare for him to smile, but he was smiling sarcastically.

He bit the grapes in front of Freya, but he soon realized that Freya was staring at the ground. He was getting even more furious.

He suddenly pushed the woman away and stared at Freya coldly. "Why are you standing still?"

"Go and serve Mr. James and Mr. Lucas; aren't you short of money? Didn't you like being cheap?"

"Go and drink with them! Wait, if you kiss them, I'll give you one hundred thousand dollars per kiss!"

She clenched her hands into fists; the two of them were old enough to be her father. And they were actually acquaintances of her father. She used to address them as uncles.

She froze, and he was staring deadly at her. Suddenly, he dragged her to his side and muttered, "I'll give you two choices!"

"Kiss them or apologize for slapping me just now!"
