The Alpha’s Obsession with his Ex-Contract Luna

Chapter 72

Chapter 72

Chapter 72 ! Earlier, Sheila was in her room with Goldie when one of her managers arrived. “Ma’am, you look stunning. Even better than at the gala awards.” Sheila didn’t feel flattered as the diamond dress she designed was more dazzling than the red one she wore at the gala awards. This was her way of moving on from her painful past to embrace a brighter future. “Well, it’s my aim to look better than I did yesterday and the day before,” Sheila beamed. Goldie was happy that she found her smile again as she seemed bitten after that unfortunate night with Alpha Nick. The manager was happy with her words but had a slightly guilty look. “I should learn from you, but ma’am, Alpha Nick called the day after the gala awards. He said he had your diamond earring.’ Both Sheila and Goldie exchanged glances as Sheila asked curiously, “What did you tell him?” She thought she had lost that earring, but hearing about it gave her a whole new level of adrenaline. Her designs were unique and never to be repeated. “He wanted your number to personally give it to you, but I couldn’t give him your number without your permission. Your phone was also switched off,” she pointed out. Sheila recalled it was true. She had been so upset with Alpha Ansaldo that she switched off her phone when he kept calling back to apologize. She just couldn’t allow somebody like that close to her ever again. Imagine if it wasn’t Alpha Nick she ended up in bed with, then what would have happened to her, especially if the man were the one to wake up first? “So what did you tell him?” Sheila asked, giving her full attention to the manager. She spoke

truthfully, “That he might find you here at the Alpha King’s daughter’s birthday party.” “Is he here?” Sheila asked, eager to get hold of her earring but wondered if Alpha Nick indeed brought it. He was capable of using tricks to tell her to come take it at the pack. If he dared raise such an outrageous condition, she was sure to kick his as s.

“Yes, I saw him earlier, and he was eagerly looking around. I believe he was looking for you,” the manager confirmed. Sheila was happy, except that, “Was he alone?” She didn’t want to see Charlotte at her birthday party and would not mind sacrificing her precious earring to avoid Alpha Nick because of her. “Yes. I saw him talking to a few people, but there was no woman with him,” the manager confirmed once again, her cheeks blushing from when she saw Alpha Nick in person. He was better looking than the rumors said. How could a man be so good looking? Sheila’s pretty face had a slight frown to it. “Why are you blushing?” Her manager had a shy smile on her face as she avoided Sheila’s gaze before adding, “Don’t worry. If the earring he has is indeed mine, I would retrieve it.” The manager nodded her head, eager “Go ahead.” Sheila did n catch more glimpses of Alpha Nick. “It’s getting interesting there. I will take my leave now” stop her. Alpha Nick, all she felt for her all she felt for her was pity. The saw through the manager that she was crushing on Alpha Nick only loved his mate, and nobody else stood the same chance. “I wonder why he came without the bi tch,” Goldie fumed, still upset by what she saw with her mate. Sheila was least disturbed. When she saw Charlotte at the gala awards, she was still unmarked, which could only mean that Alpha Nick had not mated with her yet.

For whatever was taking him so long, she did not know and could not bring herself to care. But then the realization struck her like lightning. Alpha Nick had not slept with his mate but did it with her. It could only be under the influence of drugs. “I guess he is looking for the woman he slept with. Alpha Nick is quite disciplined and would want to take responsibility,” Sheila said bitterly. Only if something like this had happened between them when she was still his Luna, it would have drawn them closer, but they were already divorced. Goldie could not allow herself to agree. “Then why didn’t he take responsibility for you?” Sheila let out a sad smile. “He owed me nothing. I was the one who offered to marry him, and don’t forget he offered me fifty percent of everything, which I rejected.” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“So do you still love him?” Goldie asked, afraid of the way Sheila defended the as shole. Sheila shook her head. She loved Alpha Nick for too long but already let him go the moment she signed those papers. “No. Everything I ever felt for him is dead.” “What about…” her voice was interrupted by that of the MC. “With a standing ovation and a round of applause, let’s welcome our one and only Sheridon Warner.” “That is Kyle. Let’s get this over with,” Sheila said seriously. She was only going to kowtow to everything that would happen tonight to please her father and nothing else. Goldie walked with Sheila but avoided the spotlight and joined the crowd. Sheila stood on the stage, not liking the stares as Kyle announced, “If you must know, our dear Sheridan has still not found her mate.” The single men were already salivating, wishing for her to be paired with them. Alpha Nick was spellbound, his eyes refused to blink for thirty seconds. ‘So, Sheila hid her identity as the Alpha King’s daughter to marry me?’ He still could not believe it even when she stood tall on the stage as the MC continued to speak. “If you are also unmated like her, just say hi, and you know how the mate bond works. If she isn’t your mate, please walk away and give another person the chance. Unless you are her mate, your

time spent with her is limited to thirty seconds. And after that, we shall have the cake cutting,” the MC, Kyle announced. These were the Alpha King’s instructions, as he did not want anyone to take advantage of his beloved daughter. Sheila hugged her parents first before the MC began to direct men towards her. Alpha Nick was boiling, gulping down glasses upon glasses of hard liquor. There was nothing he could do, as this was arranged by Sheila’s parents. Alpha Ansaldo was not allowed to attend because of what he did the last time, and Alpha Nick had no

choice but to wait until the mating process was over with. Not having rejected Charlotte, he didn’t stand the chance of having Sheila as a second chance mate. Slowly, joy filled his heart as one Alpha to the other was being sent away as soon as the thirty seconds were up. They only had the chance to exchange a few words with Sheila. Two hours later, Sheila’s parents were saddened as the MC announced, “We are very sad to announce to you that our dear Sheridan could still not find her mate.” Everyone seemed to sympathize with her except Alpha Nick, who rather looked satisfied with the outcome. Sheila should be his and his alone. “Please don’t let it disturb you. Enjoy the party.” The MC forced a smile before saying, “We shall invite our Alpha king and his queen, the beta, the seven brothers, and favorite cousin of our dear Sheridan to help her cut the cake.” Alpha Nick could not contain his shock, looking at the kind of love Sheila had grown up in before throwing it all away to be with him. The thought of it made him feel so stu pid to have waited for Charlotte when she was building her life with another man. “Oh Sherry, why couldn’t you find your mate?” Her father lamented, hugging her tenderly after the

cake cutting. Sheila was speechless. “Dad, please, can you let it go now? You would have enough grandchildren from my brothers, so please don’t worry,” she consoled the middle-aged man before trying to find a way to flee. Being with her father would only remind her of the very things he kept saying. He might even forcefully make her choose any ready man. “Okay, just be happy and enjoy the party,” her father gave up. Sheila nodded, just as her gaze met with that of Alpha Nick. Without blinking, he began to walk towards her with mixed emotions. Sheila’s legs felt like jelly; she run away because of what happened Vanted to between them but equally needed that earring. HELP! “I have something that belongs to you. Let’s talk in private.” Alpha Nick sounded h oa rse, as if he hadn’t slept for years. His emotions weighed heavily on his heart, settling in his tone.

Sheila swallowed tightly. If she wanted the earring, then she just had to listen to whatever he had to say. “I know a place.”
