Chapter 8 by Lorelei Thunder
With a crack, both of Brutus’ legs were broken at a grotesque angle. The bones pierced through his flesh and skin, and blood began flowing immediately.
“Ahh! My legs!” Brutus’ agonizing shrieks reverberated in the suite.
Trudy swiftly went to check on him, shouting, “You madwoman! How dare you do this to my son?”
She pulled out her phone as she shouted, about to get some backup. But one of the bodyguards slapped it out of her hands and sent it crashing to the ground in pieces.
“Mind you, Mr. Henderson is not to be insulted. If you want to seek revenge, I’ll be waiting. My name is Helen Cartwright!”
Helen’s words were cold and hard as she said, “Throw them both out! No one is to kick up a fuss in this room!”
“Woody Henderson, you bastard! How dare you just watch my son’s legs be broken without doing anything? You’re both done for, you wretched couple! Our family will not let you off! Just you wait!”
The bodyguards ignored their screams and forcibly escorted them out.
The room quickly returned to silence again. Then, Helen said cautiously, “Mr. Henderson, I hope you’re not offended that I acted of my own accord and sent my father to Premier Hospital.”
Not only did the hospital have a helipad and dedicated routes, they had better amenities there, too.
“That’s not a problem.” Woody understood her consideration. The only reason he had the rule of only accepting patients and not carrying out house calls was because he used to be in prison.
Though he might be the unrivaled ruler there, his status was still an inmate, and he couldn’t leave at his own discretion. Hence, patients had no choice but to come to him for medical consultation whenever they needed help.
However, things were different now. He needed to adapt to current conditions. Besides, it would seem inappropriate for patients to be sent to a hotel to seek help.
Helen heaved a sigh of relief and hurriedly urged, “Let’s go, then.”
…
Outside the main entrance of the hotel, Trudy was still yelling and spewing curses as two of Helen’s bodyguards dragged her out and dumped her on the steps. She fell heavily to the ground. It hurt so much that tears fell.
“Brutus, how are you?” She crawled over to Brutus with much difficulty. “I’ll give your sister a call right now. She’ll get revenge …”
“What damn use will calling her be? I’m hurting like hell! Send me to the hospital now!” Brutus growled deeply through gritted teeth.
It was only then that it dawned on Trudy that she needed to send him to the hospital. “Okay! I’ll go get the car! We’ll go to the best hospital and get you the best specialist there. I promise you’ll be fine.”
It was at that moment that Woody and Helen walked out. There was a Rolls-Royce Cullinan waiting for them at the entrance.
“You wretched, shameless couple! No wonder you agreed to the divorce, Henderson! It’s because you found yourself a rich woman, isn’t it? You mooching bastard!”
When she saw the both of them getting into the car, Trudy shouted agitatedly once more, “Just you wait, Woody Henderson! One day, I’ll make you pay back for what you have done today! You’ll pay back much more than this! Tenfold! A hundredfold!”
“Mom, it hurts …”
“Hang in there, honey. We’ll get to the hospital right away.”
Somewhere in Premier Hospital of Tiusto City, shouts could be heard in the hallways.
“What are your goddamn eyes for? Can’t you see that we need help? Why are you not coming over to help us, you bunch of idlers? I’ll get you all fired if treatment for my son is delayed!”NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Trudy made a scene, looking all arrogant and acting rude to the doctors and nurses.
“Do you know who I am? I am from the York family, and we’ve had a meal together with the director of the hospital before!
“So send my son into a VIP ward! Also, I’m aching all over, so I need a full body check-up! I will need to be admitted, too!”
The doctor-in-charge looked troubled as he explained, “Ma’am, your son’s injuries aren’t serious. A regular ward will be good enough for him. I can arrange that for you at once if that’s alright with you.”
“Of course not! With our status, we only stay in VIP wards!”
“It’s not that I’m not letting you stay in VIP wards, but the VIP wards have been closed off. Nobody is allowed to enter.”
