Until the show ended, Darren didn't get a reply.

This was expected, but still a bit confusing.

They were chatting just fine before, but when he messaged again, Natalie didn't reply.

Even when he tried to entice her with a picture of his abs, it didn't work. He felt he must have said something wrong to upset her. But no matter how many times he reviewed their chat history, he couldn't figure it out.

This woman was so hard to please now. She changed her attitude faster than one could blink their eyes. Darren kept logging on and off WhatsApp. After several attempts, he suddenly felt like a bitter lover and angrily turned off his phone. He didn't care

He had originally wanted to comfort her as a close friend after listening to that music piece. But since she didn't appreciate the chance, he would not force her.

A few minutes later, Vivian excitedly ran to the VIP seats right after taking the group photo. She shouted, "Darren!" With her hands behind her back, she ski**d towards him and smiled, "I'm done here. Let's go grab dinner, shall we?" Darren looked at her smiling face and thought about the things he heard in the lounge at noon. He smiled meaningfully, thinking, "This woman has two faces. His dark eyes were fixed on her. Although he was smiling, his eyes held no warmth.

Vivian felt a bit uneasy being stared at by him. She shyly linked her arm with his. "Why are you always looking at me like that?"

chuckled. Instead of answering, he said, "Let's go for dinner."

Darren chu

"Sure." Vivian linked arms with Darren and strutted out, instantly attracting countless gazes and envy. Many people whispered and gossiped.

"Wow! Ms. Zavala and Mr. Luther are So sweet t today."

"They are so close. I I heard they're about to get married."

"Being able to marry Mr. Luther is truly a dream à come true."

Vivian felt like she was floating on air. This was the feeling she yearned for. Although Darren wasn't very nice to her in private, he always acted like the perfect husband and a good man in public, completely fulfilling his promise. This greatly satisfied her vanity. She couldn't help but feel proud and even dared to rest her face on his arm.

Darren looked down at her with a sidelong glance but didn't have much of a reaction.

Vivian was even happier now. When she passed by Natalie, she rolled her eyes and suddenly spoke in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Darren, did you get in touch with Alex? Did he agree to sell us the wedding dress?"

"No." Darren's gaze briefly swept over Natalie.

Natalie had her back to him, talking to Leon.

He felt annoyed and impatiently said, "Just pick another wedding dress."

"What? Why? But I really like Alex's wedding dress." Vivian pouted and whined, "Darren, please try contacting him again. You promised me. I'm telling you. Without that dress, I won't accept your proposal." 1/3 Fri, Sep 27

She was talking loudly, and people around them heard it.

"Wow. Ms. Závala sure has a high status at home."

"In front of Ms. Zavala, Mr. Luther can only obey."

"A man who listens to his wife is so charming.'

Darren didn't say anything. He just let out an unclear smile.

Once they were away from the crowd and outside, he let go of her hand and said casually, "How about we get married when we find that wedding dress? What do you think?"

Vivian looked at his face and felt a bit uneasy.

She knew he was probably a bit upset, so she quickly corrected herself, "I'll try some other wedding dresses over the next couple of days. Darren, come with me, okay? We haven't seen each other in so long." "Let's talk about it later." Darren and Vivian went to a Western restaurant. Darren didn't eat much during their meal. He was playing with his phone the whole time. Vivian wanted to ask but didn't dare to.

the meal, he drove her home. Before she could ask him to stay, his car roared away, leaving her standing there in a cloud of exhaust. Vivian stomped her foot in frustration.

After the meal

The first thing Darren did when he got home was check his phone. He turned it on, logged on to WhatsApp, and went straight to his messages. All in one go.

He had been eagerly waiting for Natalie's reply the whole way home, but he waited in vain. He was so angry he almost smashed his phone.

Just then, his special alerts for Twitter buzzed. He opened it to see grid of nine photos. They were all of Natalie and Leon.

The two of them also went for dinner. They looked so close and happy. Even the usually gloomy Leon was smiling broadly It was clear he was genuinely happy.

Darren thought, 'She didn't reply to my messages, but got cozy with another man.' Darren ground his teeth in frustration. Netizens rushed to comment.

Natalie & & Leon down. I'll swallow the key.]

Can anyone pair better with Natalie than Leon? Anyone?]

[They are a perfect match.]

[Natalie just depends on men. If Leon hadn't composed the piece, could she have won first place today?]

[What are you jealous about? Their relationship is none of your business. Stop yelling here.]

The more Darren read the comments, the more annoyed he got As long as he was unhappy, he took out his frustration on Tony. He called Tony up and harshly scolded, "I need to see that doctor the day after tomorrow. If you can't make it happen, don't bother going to Norldea to herd sheep. I've already got a better place for you." Tony shivered and assured, "Mr. Luther, I've already made contact. He's on his way and will definitely be here the day after

tomorrow."

"I hope so," said Darren.

Tony was terrified of being exiled, so he made absolutely sure everything went smoothly. As soon as the doctor got off the plane the day after tomorrow, Tony would immediately escort him straight to Darren.

In the dimly lit private room, the man lounged lazily on the sofa.

His hands rested loosely, long legs crossed. The ambient light above occasionally cast spots on his face, making him look even more handsome and charming.

Luke Larson sat trembling in a corner, body curled up and nervously glancing at Darren.

Not wanting to face the imposing man across from him, Luke quickly looked away in fear.

Darren suddenly chuckled. He leaned forward, dropped a few ice cubes into his glass, and slowly poured himself half a glass of whiskey. Holding the glass in his large hand, he gently swirled it, the ice clinking crisply against the glass.

"Let's talk about what happened five years ago," Darren instructed c**ly, tapping his slender fingers against the glass. "Dr. Larson, you surely remember my face, so you must know what I'm asking about."

Luke shivered. He knew exactly who Darren was. Five years ago, Darren was not a person he could afford to mess with, and now, five years later, even more so.

Without any hesitation, he knelt on the ground and wailed, "Mr. Luther, it's not my fault. It was all Ms. Zavala's idea."

"What exactly did she tell you to do?" Darren frowned. "Don't make me ask twice, understand?"

Luke nodded frantically and confessed, "She paid me to tell you that it was her who saved you, and it was her who raised money for your cornea transplant. In fact, by the time you were brought to the hospital, the surgery was already done, and all your injuries had been treated."
