Drawn to You: The Billionaire’s Second Wife

Chapter 46.

Lilian froze at the moment Xavier asked her the same question again, she doesn’t know what to say as a cover up when he knows all her family.

She stood still staring at him. “Does it mean he saw me so clearly? Gosh! I don’t really know what’s going on between me and this man. Is this how I’m gonna spend my life with him?” She kept contemplating.

Xavier tapped her shoulder again repeating the question again. This time, his voice revealed deep anger and action.

He wants to get the answer by all means.

“Xavier, can’t we talk about this when you’re back from work? I don’t need to spoil your mood this early morning.” She uttered politely.

He glared at her and released a loud hiss. “Then leave my home. Don’t speak with anyone, just leave.” He ordered her.

Lilian nodded slightly while shivering in fear, she turned her back and vanished from his sight instantly.

While in the sitting room, she sighted Vanessa cleaning up the dinning, while the three kids were leaving to the compound.

The driver was already waiting for them.

She glared at Vanessa who had seen her but looked off. She has nothing to do with her coming here. Besides, it’s gonna be hers soon.

Lilian left the sitting room immediately Nessa left to the kitchen, she didn’t spare the kids a glance. She just dashed out of the compound.

Xavier got dressed and came down for his breakfast as usual, he met Vanessa dishing it herself.

“What of Tracy? They’ve left for school huh?” He referred to Vanessa drawing her attention.

She looked up to him and nodded with a smile. “Good morning Mr Xavier.” She greeted him.

He returned the smile and responded to the greeting.

“They just left now.” She stated.

He had a seat while Vanessa left back to the kitchen. It began going through his mind. The changes in his children.

They haven’t been to school so early like today. For the first time he saw Vanessa in the kitchen while his children got ready for school.

Damnit! It seems so good having someone like her around. A woman that has all the qualities of a mother.

“I’ll have to get my handbag, so I can leave immediately you’re done with your meal.” She uttered, referring to him.

He held her palm. “Why not exercise patience so I’ll drop you off?”

She shook her head in disagreement. “I’m sorry but I can’t. I don’t need anything to cause quarells between me and Lilian… or rather you and her.” Her face chiseled.

Xavier pleaded she should have a seat. “Vanessa, we are already quarreling.”

Her eyes widened. “What’s wrong? Hope I’m not the reason?” She inquired, feeling haunted.

His lips stretched into a smile just to console her. “It’s not about you Nessa, it’s all about us… the two of us.”

Vanessa kept staring at him, she’s so nervous to know what’s going on between them. One thing is that, she will never wish they separate… and if they do… she will never be the reason behind it.

“I caught Lilian with another man in a resort yesterday. It hurts me, because they were acting like love birds.” He narrated.

Nessa swallowed deeply, that’s kind of complicated and she doesn’t want to affix herself into the matter.

They are to solve it out within them, but here Xavier wants an idea from her.

“Are you sure the dude isn’t just a friend or a family to her?” She asked him twisting her face.

Xavier nodded showing that he’s so sure of what he narrated. “I know all her family and friends. I’m quite sure that Lilian is cheating on me, yet she’s pretending to love me.”

“I have that feeling that she’s up to something, since I couldn’t let her exercise her power over you. Lilian doesn’t love me, I can see it through my children… if she does, then my family will be one of her priorities.” Xavier added.

Vanessa was totally baffled on what to say, she doesn’t know where you start in judging the matter.

She had turned out to be a counsel in a family she collided to work for… not just a babysitter again.

“But then, what’s the reason for her coming? Did you let her know that you caught her with another man yesterday?” She questioned him.

He nodded relaxing on the chair. “I don’t hide feelings, especially when one hurts me. I am always ready to let you know the offense you committed.”

“She came begging for my forgiveness.. She wanted me to accept her back, but then I wasn’t the one who kicked her out. She did that herself… okay, it would have been so easy to do that, but the fact that she’s cheating on me is really eating me up.” He narrated in an angry manner.

Vanessa could view it in his eyes and voice. He is damn angry and irritated. He is burning in anger and annoyance.

She placed her palm on his staring into his eyes. She could hear his heartbeat, it was damn fast.

“Mr Xavier…” she called him. He took a deep breath. “You need to resolve this case with her, she’s your fiancee for crying out loud… and you aren’t sure if truly she was cheating on you.”

She tapped the table. “Look, you have to make peace with her… forgive and accept her back, at least give her a second chance.”

“And I promise to keep my eyes on her, that lady might be up to something which I don’t know… and she isn’t gonna succeed…

She smiled. “You just don’t have to accuse her just like that, all you need is to be careful with her.” she advised. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

He nodded and heaved a big sigh of relief. “Thank you so much for always being there for me and my family.” He smiled. “Now tell me the spell you used on Tracy and Ben, I’ve been noticing something different.”

Her lips pulled into a wide smile. “Honestly, I can’t just tell myself… I’m surprised just like you are.”

She got on her feet to leave. “I’ll go get my bag and wait for you here.”

He acceded and began gobbling on his meal, he glanced at the wall clock to get that he’s so late to work already.

She couldn’t stop pacing round the room while her palms transfixed on her waist.

The glass filled with wine was still on the table untouchable, she doesn’t care about that. The only thing going on in her mind is how to get Xavier’s heart again.

She’s so sure that he isn’t madly in love with her again like previously

The question he had asked her several times hit her head again, and she gasped.

That’s so unusual. When and how did he get her with the young man? He wasn’t lying though, quite right she had left with the young man in a resort.

She forcefully got her ass on the sofa. “I’m just sure that filthy Lady must have a spell binding him… she can do anything just to have my Xavier to herself.”

She bit her finger in disgust. “If getting on my knees to beg for forgiveness will change his heart, then I’m ready to do that. That lady will never succeed.”

Her eyes narrowed.
